Any facebook likes/shares/activities analytics tools
-
From time to time I take a look at competitors' website and the activities on their social media channel like facebook.
There are many times that their facebook likes increase much faster/more than we do while I havenot been able to figure out why they get likes much more that we do.
Compared with the competitors we have very similar activities: uploading content to facebook daily and have competition every week and answer every question about our services and have faq session sometime I think our content/information are even more valuable than our competitors.
I think they are possibly doing something more value-added to be able to target more people?
Is that any tools that I can use to get any insight? e.g. some activities that I am not able to see?
Have done some research for last few weeks but I did not manage to findout.
Thanks

So they are getting more people liking their Facebook page each week, or they get a higher percentage of their fans to like their status updates?
If it's the former, there are lots of things they could be doing, most of which you can't see. Options include:
- Running a Facebook ad campaign
- Running other ad campaigns
- Using a like box on their website
- Promoting their Facebook page via email
- Doing joint ventures
- Offline promotion
Some of that you might be able to figure out with some sleuthing, but there's a lot they could be doing that there is just no way for you to find out about.

There is one tool that can do things like this but I don't know the price range, but they are called Social Bakers and you can fully see what your competitors did and what of interaction they got and how. You can find them at www.socialbakers.com
(I'm in no way affiliated, just had previous experience talking with these guys and getting a demonstration of their product)

Social shares: A ranking factor or not?
Open Site Explorer lists them and every so-called SEO expert says social signals/shares are a ranking factor. Everyone but Matt Cutts, it would seem. So if they're not a ranking factor, why show them in Open Site Explorer?

I am wondering if there is a way to recapture the manager's position on Facebook Pages.
If this is a duplicate I apologize. Our employee had a client's business page tied to their personal page. This person is now a former employee and closed their personal page. That leaves us without full capacity on this client's Business page. Is there anything I can do? Or is the only way to reclaim manager status to start a new page?

Facebook Page not in Search
My Facebook page does not show up within the first 50 results of a search for my brand. I have over 3,000 fans and am relatively active so it should be there. On the second page of SERPs for my brand there is a Facebook page of a spammy looking affiliate with 15 fans. On the third page my Facebook test page appears. Any ideas about what happened with my page? Is it possible Google penalized my Facebook page - and if so, how do I fix that? I checked the admin again and the page is open to the public and when I do a search for "brand facebook" it appears. Thanks for your help!

Good idea to include links in Facebook posts teaser-text?
Hi guys, I'm wondering; is it a good idea (for the engines primaliry) to include links with targeted keywords in facebook posts. From a user perspective I would say it's not desirable. But I'm wondering how Google and co treat links which they find there. They are nofollowed, yes. They are indexed however but when I want google to show me the text-only version of the cached page I receive an 404 error which is odd. Anybody else getting the 404 from google? Eg. clicking on this cache-URL: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:jsC_26QVKbgJ:www.facebook.com/echoonline/posts/156674087731661+site:facebook.com/echoonline&cd=3&hl=de&ct=clnk&gl=de&client=firefox-a and then on "text only" leads to this page which does not exist: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/echoonline/posts/156674087731661?_fb_noscript=1 Looking forward to your ideas on this topic.

Facebook Reach from 1,200 to less than 20 in 24 hours?
I created ad #1 in facebook ran it for a marked time frame. Target audience 1200. Reached 248. Created ad #2. Wanted to test it against ad #1 for same audience, but now Facebook says the target audience is less than 20 people. Huh? Facebook can't be loosing people that fast. Why would this happen? Is it simply a glitch?

Does the value of Twitter/FB shares change depending on the url used?
I have a really hard time wrapping my head around the use rel canonical. I just watched WBF and it brought up a question that I had. I had a situation where some of my pages could be accessed a couple of ways: www.mydomain/question1.php?id=24-keyword-rich-url, or www.mydomain/question1.php?id=24 I used rel canonical to tell the search engines that the keyword rich url was the one to index. Now, we all know that shares on Twitter, FB, etc. can add value to my site's SEO. So, if someone happens to be on the non-keyword-rich url and they click a button to share, do I still get the same seo benefit? Which brings me to a related question...if someone shares your content via a bitly or other shortened domain, is there any difference to the benefit you would get as compared to them sharing the full domain name?
