Google is indexing the wrong page
-
Hello,
I have a site I am optimizing and I cant seem to get a particular listing onto the first page due to the fact google is indexing the wrong page. I have the following scenario.
I have a client with multiple locations. To target the locations I set them up with URLs like this /<cityname>-wedding-planner.</cityname>
The home page / is optimized for their port saint lucie location.
the page /palm-city-wedding-planner is optimized for the palm city location.
the page /stuart-wedding-planner is optimized for the stuart location.
Google picks up the first two and indexes them properly, BUT the stuart location page doesnt get picked up at all, instead google lists / which is not optimized at all for stuart.
How do I "let google know" to index the stuart landing page for the "stuart wedding planner" term?
MOZ also shows the / page as being indexed for the stuart wedding planner term as well but I assume this is just a result of what its finding when it performs its searches.

I was going to say the same as Trung. A couple things that might help you differentiate the pages to think about include:
The reasons people get married in Palm city
The reasons they get married in Stuart
The reasons they get married in Port St. LuciaIt might come down to criteria such as following:
transportation
budget,
the venue,
the atmosphere. Those are just a few of the things you can do to differentiate the pages.
Really dig in and discuss the benefits and display that you understand what it is like to at least witness a wedding in all of the areas. Show them that you know what you are talking about.
I am positive as a Florida resident that there is a lot you can say about these areas regarding travel for the guests as well as the reception and ceremony. Do not create a bunch of URLs just because they have your keywords in them. Especially when they are identical to the others.
Try creating a URL called "wedding locations" something like that then you can have them choose the city in which they want to plan the wedding. Create pages around the venues "best place's to get married in Stuart".
You see where I am going with this?
If your locations are brick-and-mortar businesses which means you must do face-to-face business at the address specified, you can then add them to Moz local making it much more powerful.
Add schema, and use these tools to help:

Hello there,
The first question is whether or not /stuart-wedding-planner is indexed in Google. If it is, you may want to take a look to see if Google is filtering it out of search results because it is too similar to the other landing pages. To do this, I'd do the following search: 'site:example.com inurl:wedding-planner'
Check to see if the page is included in the results without having to click on the duplicate content filter message:
"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the X already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."If the page is being filtered out, I'd recommend updating the content to differentiate from the other 'Wedding Planner' pages.

Google indexing only 1 page out of 2 similar pages made for different cities
We have created two category pages, in which we are showing products which could be delivered in separate cities. Both pages are related to cake delivery in that city. But out of these two category pages only 1 got indexed in google and other has not. Its been around 1 month but still only Bangalore category page got indexed. We have submitted sitemap and google is not giving any crawl error. We have also submitted for indexing from "Fetch as google" option in webmasters. www.winni.in/c/4/cakes (Indexed - Bangalore page - http://www.winni.in/sitemap/sitemap_blr_cakes.xml) 2. http://www.winni.in/hyderabad/cakes/c/4 (Not indexed - Hyderabad page - http://www.winni.in/sitemap/sitemap_hyd_cakes.xml) I tried searching for "hyderabad site:www.winni.in" in google but there also http://www.winni.in/hyderabad/cakes/c/4 this link is not coming, instead of this only www.winni.in/c/4/cakes is coming. Can anyone please let me know what could be the possible issue with this?

Google serving wrong page...
Hi, When you Google: "Los Angeles divorce attorney", you will see this site on the 5th page of the SERPS: www.berenjifamilylaw.com/blog/. For some reason, Google is serving the BLOG page as opposed to the homepage. This has been going on now for several weeks. Any tips on how to fix this? Obviously, the Homepage is more relevant and has more links going to it, so not sure why it's happening. Would you just leave it alone? Would you use robots.txt to block Google from crawling the BLOG post page? Thanks.

Wrong page ranking for keyword - should I move the better content over?
We have a page which is outranking another page for a keyword that is very important. The page that is lower in the rankings has far better content. I think this is happening due to links as well as the url structure. domain.com/ranking/notranking Here is the page we want to rank: http://bit.ly/1vqhSoZ Here is the page that is higher in rankings: http://bit.ly/1vA1wXQ So I think I should just move the content over from /notranking, to /ranking. The content is clearly better on the lower ranking page but I think due to links the /ranking page is higher in SERPS. So I guess my question is, would it be wise to move all that content over, and then 301 redirect the old page? Or leave the way it is and hopefully Google will get it right over time?

Why Is Google Indexing These Product Pages On Shopify?
How can we communicate to Google the exact product pages we'd like indexed on our site? We're an apparel company that uses Shopify as our ecommerce platform. Website is sportiqe.com. Currently, Google is indexing all types of different pages on our site. **Example of a product page we want indexed: ** Product Page: sportiqe.com/products/PRODUCT-TITLE (Like This) **Examples of product pages being indexed: ** sportiqe.myshopify.com/products/PRODUCT-TITLE sportiqe.com/collections/COLLECTION-NAME/products/PRODUCT-TITLE See attached for an example of how two different "Boston Celtics Grateful Dead" shirts are being indexed. Any suggestions? We've used both Shopify and Google Webmaster tools to set our preferred domain (sportiqe.com). We've also added this snippet of code to our site three months ago thinking that would do the trick... {% if template == 'product' %}{% if collection %} {% endif %}{% endif %} sKwNZOl
