Should my website link to my google business listing given that I already link from google business to my website ?
-
I have a website with individual Location Landing Pages for each of my Depots. I also have individual Google Local Business Listings for each of my depots.
Should I have a link from my Website Location Landing Pages to the associated Google local Business listings or not ?... Given that I already have a link on my Google Business listing to the relevant Location Page on my website.
I wasn't sure whether linking both ways would be more beneficial thus enforcing things better or whether it's not needed to link both ways .
thanks
Pete

Hi Pete,
yes, you should link both ways.
1.) From your Google Business / Local Profile to your homepage or if you have more than one location on your site, to the corresponding local subpage
2.) on the homepage or local subpage put a link to your google Profile. use the publisher tag when linking e.g.
[](https://plus.google.com/{ID der Google+ Seite})
Hope that helps,
Peter

My personal opinion would be to link your Google Business page to the home page of your site and then the corresponding location pages to their respective pages on your site. There is no such thing as too many links from Google to your site.
It generally looks a lot better the the engines if everything you do ties together and does so appropriately. I don't think it's the best idea to take a general page and point that to specific locations if each location has a corresponding Google page.

Single Local Result on Google... Wut up with that?
I'm seeing, for several different locations, single businesses suddenly coming up for searches on local services, where there used to be 3-Pack results. Now it's like a knowledge panel result on the right. Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas as to what's going on... and if there's anything that can be done to revert it? (influence the type of local result). Thanks!

How to Have Multiple Listings appear on Google maps
Hi my client has two locations for his restaurants: Me Gusta Tacos He wants to have both his locations show up in the map pack, which they currently do when you type in Restaurants, Dinner, food near me etc... However, when you google Me Gusta Tacos the Google listing shows up on the right for one of his locations, but there isn't a Map Pack for his two locations. I wasn't sure if a map pack only shows up when there are 3 or more locations, for instance, a chipotle which I added an image below to compare too. HGOgln5 Jgdoi4Y

Tracking Phone Numbers in Google My Business Listings and Beyond
Hey all, Wanted to run something by you. I am getting pressed to use tracking phone numbers for all of our GMB pages for over 100 locations across the country. Has anyone done this for their own listings or for their clients? Because I will have to do it for GMB, this means I will be sending these same phone numbers out to the other major directories and data sources around the web. The phone numbers do contain the local area code for each city and do directly connect our customers to their specific location without any kind of redirecting. How is Google looking at this? I have read before it is a no-no but have also read it is not a big deal. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! -Ben

Local citations from business directories in other countries
Hi all, I normally work for clients in my home county (The Netherlands) and with local citation building I focus on Dutch websites or well know .com websites in the Netherlands. My rule of thumb kinda was, if it’s not known in the Netherlands it isn’t worth getting mentioned there. Since The Netherlands are pretty small and I think Google ain’t perfect I was wondering if it makes sense to list a Dutch business on any .com business listings that are internationally big, but aren’t well known in the Netherlands. Two reasons that got me thinking this direction: A big well known Dutch company offers a service such as Moz local and did integrate their service with several international business listing websites that I never heard off, since these business directories focus themselves on other parts of the world. Google ain’t perfect and I think they got more budget to identify trustworthy business directories with an international focus or a focus on America then with a focus on The Netherlands. So I’m wondering if it makes any sense to list a Dutch business on let’s say the top 20 international business directories (although these directories don’t have any brand recognition in The Netherlands).

Do canonical links effect local search rankings?
Hello, I have just been doing some reading about canonical links. Part of my role at my family business is to look after all of the SEO and digital marketing for our business. I've been really pleased with the results i've managed to get as we currently rank in the top 3 in the organic search for all of the keywords we've been trying for. My question is though, The Moz scan of my site came back and said we have some duplicate content. Although i've written every page completely from scratch I am sort of saying the same thing. We cover a few different areas for our business and we are in the service industry and i've always thought it was better to have a page dedicated to an area. We are a removals company and I would always type in for example 'Removal companies in London' I wouldn't just type in Removal Companies. It is very location specific which we've found out by asking our customers what they have/would type in. Because of this, I was thinking perhaps this duplicate content is harming our sites SEO so I wondering, if i implemented a canonical link from all of my local area pages to my main House Removals page to say that there is where the content originated.Would it negatively affect the current ranking of my local pages (as it's pretty good) or would it actually increase the strength of our SEO and improve it? Any help would be hugely appreciated 🙂 Cheers, Robert P.S i'm only self taught and i'm trying to learn as much as i can, please be kind.

Data source of Google Maps in Japan
Hi There, Does any one know how to input data such as restaurants into Google Maps in Japan? Google Map Maker isn't supported in Japan and I can't find who the primary data suppliers are. I am looking to find out so I can improve my neighbourhood guide on an airbnb listing. It would be great to tell people the location of local shops and restaurants but can only add locations listed in Google maps which is limited for Kurokawa in Japan. Thanks Billy

How do you get listed on Yahoo?
Where is yahoo's "add your business" link? I cannot find it. All I can find is their "yahoo local works" product, which I do not want to buy. I just want to add my listing like I can do with hotfrog, bing, infogroup...pretty much everyone else...except yahoo. Please save me from this frustration, so I can get back to enjoying my Friday. Thanks, Ruben
