Should "white label" sites have a unique template
-
I am planning on launching white label sites for my company.
Obviously they will have unique/valuable content.
Is it important for them to have unique IP addresses and/or design templates?
If yes - why?
-
1. A unique IP is always a plus, that's true. It's like you travelling with your passport vs. you travelling along with ten other people using the same passport.
Besides, on a shared IP address you risk having your site associated with the other sites on the same IP -- which may or may not have questionable content.
2. The template's design doesn't make any difference because there are 1,000 sites using the same template from Themeforest, for example, each from totally different business areas.
Host your sites on different hosting accounts and have a second look at the domains' whois data, for starters.
-
Why would you want them to have unique IP addresses? Are you trying to get Google to treat them as unrelated sites? If so, keep in mind that separate IP addresses isn't enough. Google has other ways of figuring out whether sites are owned by the same entity.
-
The purpose is to expand our brand to promote different services in different geographic areas. There will be ~7-10.
-
Could you explain what these sites will be and what their purpose is? How many of them will there be?

Im running a campaign for a coupon site, coupons are added and expire weekly. What are the most important factors you think I should focus on
Coupon sites are unique as the content is fluid, coupons expire weekly, categories have thin content but the main goal is to get the merchants Macy's, Target, Best Buy coupons and indexed. Im looking for advice on technical SEO that may be unique to feed and affiliate site, what to block in the robots.txt ie affiliate urls such as /go and /gostore and categories Any advice and passionate discussion is welcome...

Find My Missing AdWords Conversions! (my white whale)
Hello! I hope someone can help shed some light on this issue for me because I have searched far and wide for answers to no avail. So, without further ado, here goes... The destination URL's in our AdWords ads are affiliate redirects with "Google" as the Affiliate Code. Since our products are according to license, we have different price points for the same item number. We cannot get accurate earnings through AdWords. The affiliate redirect records the Google conversion in our store which gives us the ability to associate a dollar amount with conversions as well as compare the number of conversions against what is stated in the AdWords interface. The problem is that AdWords consistently shows significantly more conversions than our store's affiliate code reflects. For example: AdWords Conversions for March 2013: 31 Store Orders Showing Google Affiliate ID for March 2013: 19 So judging from those numbers it looks like 12 conversions were lost from AdWords reporting to the reporting in our online store. I have checked and double checked that our destination URL's are uniform in their formatting and have the appropriate "Google" affiliate code, so they should be recorded. Does anyone have any insight or experience with this? Is it possible that our affiliate cookie is somehow being dropped as the user is redirected to the landing page via the destination URL? 12 conversions is a pretty significant difference and since those conversions seem to be getting lost on the way to our store, that's revenue that i'm not able to add to determine the true ROI of the effort. Can anyone help?

Launching new static template
My site, ShuttleFinder.net, has been online since 2002. Over the past ten years I have ranked pretty well for "Airport Shuttle" related keywords. Last October (2011), my traffic took a major nose dive (down 60 - 70%). I have been working hard to build up my traffic. First thing I did was hire a graphic designer to build a modern looking template. I decided to stick with a static site (as opposed to a CMS). I've been busy adding content, creating a blog, building social network links, and using tools like SEOmoz to fix title and meta descriptions. I also created a YouTube channel and added two professional commercials promoting ShuttleFinder.net. I haven't migrated my content to the new template yet (that's the next step). See attached screenshot of my newly designed site (this is a screenshot of my new home page). I know I still need to add a lot of fresh content, but will the new templates boost my rankings? watch?v=pW76Heqs5qo shuttlefinder-screenshot.png watch?v=pW76Heqs5qo shuttlefinder-screenshot.png watch?v=pW76Heqs5qo

How do the engines look at pages populated using content from an affiliate site?
We are building out a section of our site using an affiliate partnership in the travel space. How would you suggest organizing the content so we do not get penalized for duplicate content? Do you suggest not suing the content at all?

Using follow links on client and resellers site
Hi, i have a backup software product that I sell to business. I would like to create a badge that says something like "powered by x backups". This would be an image with a href url pointing back to my company site. I would intend to give the client a discount if they were to place the small logo in the footer section of their website. I would also like to offer this to resellers. For example "Authorised reseller of x backups" badge that could be placed on the resellers website. I would like to do this for two reasons: To promote my company to the visitors of the clients website To build link juice Would this be effective in building quality links? It this type of link building allowed by google? If not, how strict are they? Is there any variation of my intended promotion strategy that would be more effective? Thanks

Shopping comparison site referral traffic growth
Over the last 12 months we have been working with affiliates and seen excellent traffic and revenue growth from this channel (golf market). Over the same period we have seen a massive (60%) drop in organic traffic and 40% drop in organic revenue. Our rankings are comparable to last year. However we are seeing growth in Googlebase traffic and direct traffic Is it the case that consumers are using comparison sites more that organic search queries. Is there any evidence to support this view if true? Having content on affiliate sites, could it be harming us organically (but as I say or rankings are comparable to last year - maybe a little worse since Panda updates). Confused? I am...
