Rankings not working
-
It appears that my search rankings in my SEOMoz profile aren't working - either that or something really bad has happened to my rankings. I left it a few days thinking it was updating but nothing seems to have changed. Can anyone help?

Thanks for all your replies. Totally agree, double checking manually is always worth doing and have always done, I was just wondering why they weren't showing up in my account. Looks like they're back again now though, so just a blip.

We actually take quite a few precautions so that we're not actually searching from Seattle.

I agree with Bryan.
What makes you believe your rankings are not working?
I say this pretty often, SEOmoz should be used as a reference, when it comes to actual rankings, they can change hourly, daily, weekly etc. SEOmoz only updates it that week of that time.
Like Bryan stated check your actual rankings and also check your analytics.

Hi Rachel,
Many times the tool can be inaccurate because it is searching from seattle. I would recommend double checking your rankings manually. Make sure you are not logged in to any Google accounts, and clear your browsing history etc...
Hope this helps.

Keyword Ranking Research Question
Hi Mozzers,This is probably a nooby question, but I was wondering how you guys end up deciding if a Keyword is too hard to rank for? Also vice versa, when do you decide that a keyword is too low volume to rank for so you try to rank for a harder keyword? Eg.

Deciding that ranking for "Dell Computers" is too hard and then deciding to rank for "Dell Small Business Computers" Post-question: Do indirectly rank for Dell Computers if you try to rank for Dell Small Business Computers? If so, how much? Also, how many words inbetween Dell & Computers would there have to be to stop indirectly ranking for Dell Computers?1 -
Improving the keyword ranking of a subject that we deal with only one or two months of the year
So I run a tip site based on the popular video game series Madden NFL. We also do NCAA and since I started getting invested in SEO, I noticed we aren't even in the top 50 for a lot of these results. What would be a good way to get started? Just throwing in some keywords that I want to be targeted?

Should I 'nofollow' the pages on my site I want to rank the highest??
I have a lot of pages on my site & I was wondering if I would be better off tagging the pages that are most important to me nofollow. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks

Is there a point in ranking non-competitive terms?
Hello, I wanted to know if you could still make $$$ of a term that is not competitive for people. For example if a keyword is a quote, an idea, topic, or something that isn't real but still brings more than 1K exact search a month (Several terms come out to more), how can this be monetized? If it can't, could you just own one to show off?

Keyword Ranking
Soooooo, let's just say that I put a lot of keywords into the ranking tracker. Is there an easy way to reduce this list without having to go in word by word and pause or delete them? Like is there a bulk upload type of system? Thanks!

Do the search engines kind of test you out at a higher ranking for a short period of time?
I ranked very well for my keywords. They are not competitive. Nonetheless, I got convertible traffic to my blog. Suddenly, I run a search for the keywords and there is this other website ranking higher than me. it seems to be a new website. No data on opensiteexplorer. So, the only thing that I can conclude and which I've been thinking that google does is to test new webpages out for a bit higher up on the rankings. If the bounces are lower than average, then I suspect that they will give you better rankings in the future. Is this somewhat how it works?
