Poor quality PDF exports from analytics.moz.com
-
The new reports look great http://analytics.moz.com/dashboard/overview/
But when I export to PDF, the text is low quality and images are low quality. Not as good as the old report. In fact, the PDF is such low quality we are not providing them to our customers. We're using the old reports.
ETA for HQ PDF Export please?

Okay - After some tweaking, it's actually not TOO bad. Not sure if it was just me, but they are looking okay now.
Shame that they are just scanned images as PDFs, rather than true (searchable) PDFs, but they are not too bad. Odd filename though - Vanguard something or other?
I think I'll stick with this and perhaps with some testing of dragging the elements around, I'll be able to get the page breaks at a decent spot!
-
In fact - using Chrome's 'Awesome Screenshot' plugin to take a screenie of the whole page gives a MUCH better quality result! allbeit a flat image not a pdf - But then again, the PDF output from Moz appears to be flat and uneditable/unsearchable (scanned image converted to PDF according to Adobe) too, so might as well be a flat jpg
Only different is the screenie doesn't put page breaks in, but I guess I can live with that for now
-
I just exported a report too - VERY low quality
Line-gaps in the middle of images, very low quality font (pixelated).
Something with the report generation seems to be off - not sure what or why, but I couldn't give the report to clients as-is, that's for sure

We're being objective and impartial.... the PDF report is low quality. Period.
It's much poorer quality than the old PDF reports. We've viewed this on several devices. At 100% the text and images look worse than a screen shot.
Opening ticket.

Hello,
I have opened a ticket and attached example documents.
-
Hi,
Thanks for replying. I think the problem for me is when I copy the graphics onto a word document and it becomes unreadable. Any suggestions to do this better would be great.
-
Hello,
Sorry to hear that! On our end, I just exported one of your campaign overviews to PDF. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it looks pretty good to me. I wonder if there's something else going on.
Could you please open a help ticket with us, by emailing help@moz.com, and include both the bad PDF and a screenshot of how it appears to you?
-
Hi,
I also think that too. The quality of the print is quite poor after export.

Abnormal crawl issues appearing in my Moz results
I have been asked to look at a site for a friend and was more than surprised to see 16,9k crawl issues appear in the dashboard... of this 6,238 are duplicate page content and 5878 are duplicated page titles. What on earth is going on? I have spoken to the web developer as it appears there is a dev site somewhere and this is his response [Can I stress that Google determines which site was in the index first and then removes other sites it sees as having duplicate content. Our dev sites appearing in the search index would not affect your ranking due to duplicate content as Google would see your site as the first site with the content] As I cannot make contact with him, I am scratching my head, surely a dev site should be no-indexed, it sounds as though he is saying that its ok because Google will take the main site as the first site with the content... Very confused! Help need MOZ community. Manythanks, Sarah

Webmaster Tools shows mystery errors that Moz does not
One of my campaigns is doing great in the sense that the website has been running fault free for a few months now. Great, of course! But... in Google Webmaster Tools errors keep coming in showing older media documents and pages. And it does not say where they are from. Probably this is more a Google question, but I thought I'd try to find some answers here first. I would appreciate any suggestions and help. Monique

Best Way to Seemlessly Use Moz and Google Analytics
Hi All, I have Moz Pro and I am beginning to explore Moz Analytics. I currently use Google Analytics for pretty much everything and I am almost at expert level at using the GA interface so I'm ready to learn a new tool and have a second source of data! My question is: what's the best way to get the most of Moz Analytics and GA congruently? Off hand I know that Moz's keyword, rank, and link data, including competitive insights, is more comprehensive than GA. But how else can I use Moz and get the most out of the Moz Analytics? Looking to really dive in and discuss how we can make use of both! Thanks - Vee

Lag time between MOZ crawl and report notification?
I did a lot of work to one of my sites last week and eagerly awaited this week's MOZ report to confirm that I had achieved what I was trying to do, but alas I still see the same errors and warnings in the latest report. This was supposedly generated five days AFTER I made the changes, so why are they not apparent in the new report? I am mainly referring to missing metadata, long page titles, duplicate content and duplicate title errors (due to crawl and URL issues). Why would the new crawl not have picked up that these have been corrected? Does it rely on some other crawl having updated (e.g. Google or Bing)?

Sudden decrease in Moz Page rank
Hello, We have a serious issue with 404s and recently saw our Moz Page rank fall from 53 to 47. 1. OSE Inbound links no longer shows any of our Linked In posts, did Linked In stop passing juice? 2. Does SEO Moz reduce your ranking when there's a sudden increase in 404s? 2a. WP Yoast SEO - I accidentally checked the box on this plugin to "Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL" which basically caused all of our blog post categories and Datafeedr categories to disappear. Didn't realize till too much time had passed that I accidentally clicked that box. Datafeedr is a plugin for our estore that parses the data feeds from affiliate vendors and allows you to create a saved search that auto updates old products every 3 days. I had a no index/follow parameter on the category items, but seeing the # of 404s continue to increase, I temporarily removed this parm last week to see if it reduces this now static number of 404s. Google Webmaster tools started showing a ton of soft 404s that kept increasing, while SEO Moz didn't show any of those 404s. I didn't pay much attention to GWT since Google kept saying it won't affect our rankings, and nothing was showing up on SEO Moz. Last week a fraction of those 404s showed up and I am not sure if that's what lowered our Moz rank or what looks like a possible delinking from Linked In and a higher ranking complimentary website directly related to our field itsallaboutyoga. Looking at the Moz graph of "Total Linking Root Domains Over Time" all of our competitors took a similar % hit since between June and the end of July, so I am thinking its more wide based than fat fingered mistake. I fixed # 2, (have to still figure out what to do with most of those 404s, thinking of submitting a request to Google vs 1,000s of 301s) so in doing my review of this sequence of events and using it as a learning experience, where would I assign max destructive value as a percentage? A. Ignoring GWT soft 404s in favor of SEO Moz campaign reports B. No follow from Linked In and related industry site C. Datafeedr, thousands of indexed products through Datafeedr that are no longer available mostly due to WP Yoast SEO fat finger error. I did have the D. WP Yoast SEO, "Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL" E. Global Google algo change Cheers, Michael

For those using Omniture instead of Google Analytics
Instead of connecting Google Analytics into the SEOMOZ campaign monitor, is there a way to link Omniture or alter their output to plug into SEOMOZ?
