Submitting pages to google to expidite them finding links to my site
-
Is it a good practice to submit a page linking to my site to expedite google finding the link or is it better to wait for the google spider to find it?
Thanks,
Ron!

Very good point. I usually don't post external links TO my site on G+ so I didn't think of this. I do this for discovery of my own pages but not the other way around. Good tip!

We've also seen links posted in G+ getting crawled more quickly. Not fool proof or guaranteed (or something you should do with a ton of links), but certainly an easy thing for a one-off page you want crawled quickly.

Exactly the answer I would have given as well.
You don't really "need" to do this - but if you do end up needing something indexed/deindexed, it's a good idea to expedite this way (and it works!)
I mainly use force recrawl for 301s and disavows. 301 to get old pages deindexed and disavow to get links I've removed recrawled. Other than that, it's not really super useful to ping every link you get. That is the type of thing that, if overdone, can get you beat down by Google.

Matt-Pop has some good data on using Ping tools to help accelerate changes that he discusses here: http://moz.com/community/q/new-site-pages-are-indexed-but-not-ranking-for-anything and here: http://moz.com/blog/can-you-disavow-out-of-penguin-whiteboard-friday#comment-315319
In general though Google knows about the link if the page linking to you is showing up in their index. Just run a search on the page URL itself to find if that's the case. GWT is very slow at reporting links in comparison to how quickly the search index operates. Cheers!

Broken Incoming Links from External Site - What to do?
Our Google Webmaster 'page not found' reports consistently show two Chinese websites that have approximately 50 broken links each to non-existent pages on our website. One site is a PR5, the other a PR1. Two of our Chinese employees have contacted the site owners (even talking with them over the phone) to discuss the errors, where the broken links live on their sites, and how to fix them. They have contacted the site owners three times in the past three months, but still the broken links have not be fixed. What do you recommend we do?

How Does Google connect Owners of Several Sites?
let's say I own 20 sites, all non duplicate content and Google sees that some of them has linked to sites that they consider a "farm" or other violation. So they give penalties to those sites. What happens with the other sites and how can I keep sites the most independent? For ex: These are my questions... Will google follow no follow links to see that they are connected to the good sites and penalize them? If they are all part of google anaylitics with good and bad sites, will google attack them all? Will google look at the owner of all the sites and connect them that way/ I need to know the extent Google connect site owners for penalizing. please only answer with knowledge, and if you can supply specific links, that would be great too, thanks.

Links from low PA pages on high DA sites... What effect do they have?
My company's website has inbound links from very high DA websites (LinkedIn 96, Yelp 91, etc.) but from pages with very low PA (1). These low PA pages are the company listings pages. In the case of Linked In, there are several products/services listed with ideal anchor text to the relevant pages on our site. How do these links effect our overall ranking and trust, and why aren't they listed when I use OSE to analyze my pages? Thanks!
