What is the proper way to write a title for local SEO?
-
Good Morning,
I was wondering if some one could clarify the best way to write a title tag for local SEO.
1.) "Pet Store in Boston, MA"
or
2.) "Boston, MA Pet Store"
Thank!

My vote is for neither of the above but a different combo.
- Boston Pet Store - Company Name
I think the 1st part is how many would search. I don't think many search for KW in city st.
For organic national SEO I would not normally take up space to add name, but in local Google seems to like company in title for local search.

#1 simply because it makes sense from a readers and search standpoint. If you use two and rank higher your conversions might not be as well. I would keep an eye out and see how your conversions and competitors are doing with their title. Make sure your title is unique as this seems very vague and a competitor might already be using it.

#1 always. Red Spot is spot on with her response in my opinion ; )

The first way is how I would do it. I tend to think of it in terms of how I would typically answer a question in the real world. "Where do you work?" at a "Pet store in Boston, MA".

#1 for sure

I would choose #1, because the most important part of the title (that it's a pet store) should come before Boston, MA. Additionally, the most common word ordering for most people in terms of local is the address format: Thing, Area, City, State.
There's a nice write up on title tags here: http://moz.com/learn/seo/title-tag Note that Moz also says:
Place Important Keywords Close to the Front of the Title Tag
According to Moz's testing and experience, the closer to the start of the title tag a keyword is, the more helpful it will be for ranking—and the more likely a user will be to click them in search results.Cheers!

I think either way is fine with #1 being better, but I would also add the name/brand of the store to this as well. Users wouldn't want 10 listings that said the same thing, they would want some way to differentiate.

Looking for an SEO Mentor
I do in-house marketing for a medium sized luxury architectural design firm. I have a good understanding of the moz platform and general SEO but would like to findsomeone to provide regular guidance and answer some specific questions regarding our SEO. Specifically, we want advising on keywords, blog content, and link building. Ideally we'd like to engage a consultant (remotely) on an hourly basis. We'v have had very poor experiences with big SEO firms so that’s definitely not something we’re looking for. Best,

Title tag and user intent
I am just wondering if I create a page that present different e-bike kits and my title tag tag is "the best e-bike kits in 2019", will I rank on "e-bike kits" and "best e-bike kits" or on just "best e-bike kits" ? It seems that user intent can be tricky and sometimes a title tag can make all the difference. How about if I write "Explore Burgundy on a bike tour "to rank on "Burgundy bike tour", will I rank or is the user intent different when I write explore (meaning I am looking for something self guided instead of guided) Thank you,

What do you think about SEO of big sites ?
Hi, I was doing some research of new huge sites for example carstory.com that have over million pages and i notice that many new sites have strong growing for number of keywords and then at some point everything start going down (Image of traffic drop attached) there are no major updates at this time but you can clearly see even on recent kewyords changes that this site start loosing keywords every day , so number of new keywords are much less that lost keywords. How would you explain it ? Is that at some point when site have more than X number of indexed pages then power of domain is not enough to keep all of them at the top and those keywords start dropping ? Please share you opinion and if you have any experience by yourself with huge sites. Thank You very appreciated 2LC3AxE

Why is google truncating my title tag?
We are trying to figure out why the search result for the term "au pair" is not matching our designated title tag or anything on our page. If you search "au pair", please see the result for the domain interexchange.org. We do not see this problem with other search terms.

Content Marketing for Local Businesses
Hey guys! As someone who works with a number of local businesses (with localized target markets) I find that developing ideas for content marketing can be VERY difficult. I like the idea of creating local guides, local event info etc, but what other ways can we create content for a localized target market? For example: I have an OBGYN client that we'd love to create content for that is related to their niche (women's health), but don't want to promote or create content for national audience. That would seem incredibly wasteful. Would love to hear ideas on how to create targeted content for a local audience! Thanks

Best place to submit an SEO RFP? Anyone interested in 60 hours of SEO work?
I have a small SEO project (~ 60 hours of work) that I would like to get some help with. It is spread out over the span of 4 to 6 months (2 to 3 hours of work a week with the help of 10 - 15 support staff hours per week), and if it goes well there is an opportunity to extend the project through the rest of 2014. Does anyone here want to see the RFP or have any recommendations on where I can submit this request to get the maximum exposure? Thanks!

Do you see issues with this set up from an organic seo perspective and so many links from one domain pointing back into the main site?

Read More & SEO
I have just had my site redesigned. The site was designed with only important facts bullets at the top of the page and all other information is below in the read more section that expands when clicked. I am wondering if I need to have this information in the read more section visible to the customer or if having the majority of the text in the read more is OK? and how it will effect rankings having it this way? I have had spots #1 &2 on Google for my keywords- until the site was redesigned...wondering if this was part of the reason. I have moved some of the text up to be visible on some of the pages - but it makes the site look cramped - and competes with the ease of use the site design Any insight on this is appreciated.
