Deciding whether to list multiple locations
-
Hey Mozzers, thanks for your awesome help today. I have another related question to local listings.
We're currently rebuilding our website and we have multiple physical locations across the UK.
Is it beneficial SEO wise for us to display just one address on our contact page or should we list the 5 addresses that we have?
I have also been checking out our local listings and it appears that we have inconsistent listings across the 13 sites that Moz local lists in the UK and then across various other directories.
How important is it to get these cleaned up?
Cheers in advance
Leo

You can list all 5 addresses on your contact page, but you should consider creating local landing pages if you serve customers at each location. See the following for some best practices.

As for your second question, if you want to drive traffic through local search, you definitely want to clean up local business citations.

I would list all five as it gives the customer a better since of which location is nearest to them as well as your size of company. You can also consider including the locations within your footer of the site as well.
Getting consistent Name Address Phone across listings is definitely a best practice and one of the core aspects of local optimization. That's one thing I'd make a priority. Cheers!

One of my websites does not display sitelinks when using a branded search on mobile. Desktop , it is fine. Moz tells me I have no crawl issues. What could be reason for sitelinks not showing on mobile? Any thoughts?

Are there any online directories that an online ONLY store should list itself in?
I watched the Whiteboard Friday Video about this, but didn't hear it deal with directories exclusively. Should an online only store use online directories- and if so, how? Would there be a NAP involved?

"state" abbreviation in Google My Business for Irish/UK locations
Hi guys I have a question about one of the required bulk upload fields for Google My Business Locations: "State". We are covering Ireland and the UK and we don't have states, more provinces and counties. Any ideas what to enter in to this field? For example, for a shop in Dublin Ireland should it be Dublin (the county) Leinster (the provence) for the "State" field? And how are these abbreviated? Should I just enter IE or GB for all entries in the state field?

Anyone know how to filter by location-neutral results?
Google dropped the ability to filter your search results by location, and it's now using your precise location to give results. Here's an article from Search Engine Land that covers the removal of location setting: http://searchengineland.com/google-drops-change-location-search-filter-from-search-results-237247 Anyone know a work around for getting location-neutral results? Before I was using "Location: United States" to find unbiased results, but that's not an option any more.

How to rank same business page in different locations?
Hello all, First of all thanks for answering my previous queries. Now, I have one more query and I am hoping to get best possible answers from you guys. Query: I have one business which is located in one city only and I have a verified listing there (I am ranking good in that city). However, I want to rank the same business page in couple of other cities as well. What should I do considering that I cannot create a new listing for other cities because I have my office in single location only? Looking forward to answers. Brian

Getting listing in Google map results
Hi all A website i'm current working on isn't showing up in the google map list results on normal search page, anybody know of any reasons this may be? I've never had any issues previously i just registered on google places but since changes to google business it doesn't seem to be automatic any more. Currently i have two different other websites showing in these listings for the search term however my client is questioning why they are not showing up here also as they have the same business type related to the search term.

Is there a way to see if a Bing Places Listing is verified?
For example, Google has a badge for verified listings. I was wondering if Bing had something similar.

Citations for multiple practicioners in an office (real estate, dentists, etc)- Best Practices
We're just about to breakout our citations as we've added listings for a few real estate offices and dental offices for the individual real estate agents/dentists. I didn't see any discussions on best practices, so I thought I'd start the discussion (please point me elsewhere if I missed it) 1. Is it even a good idea to build citations for a practitioner in an office (Dr. Who, Dentist, in addition to Whoville Dental Office)? 2. Name will be different, address will be the same, but what about phone #? Should they use the office phone # and their extension? Or a separate (cell) #? 3. Website citation: Should it go to their "profile" page on the website? Or home page? Thanks in advance for any input 🙂
