How to track conversions?

Anyone know how I can go about finding what my conversion is on my site?
Or how to go about setting up tracking?

If you're taking payments on site, you should setup ecommerce tracking instead and you can use the payment transaction as the goal.

That is awesome, thanks so much for your response Alick300, im wanting to track every transaction or payment that is made and every sign up we get but in our sign up we don't have a thank you page, its more like a 3 step process, 1 Personal details, 2 Choose Offer, 3 Payment - after the payment it takes them to their session, so from the information you gave above I guess I can use the checkout button as an event. etc

Hi,
You can set Goals for Events (instead of Pages). The only thing you need to do is send an event after success.
An event can be:
- Downloading a file
- Loading of Ajax, JavaScript or flash contents
- Loading of a dynamically generated webpage
- Loading of pop-ups, light boxes
- Loading of a flash video on a webpage
- Scrolling down the page
- Viewing of a flash video
- Viewing video footage of certain length
- Clicking on a video’s play/pause/stop button
- Interaction with a gadget
- Clicking on an image or a link
- Abandonment of a form
- Log-ins
- Sharing/printing a blog post, article, video or image

Hello Edward,
If you mean to set up a normal goal tracking, it's really easy and you can setup to yourself. Just follow these steps,
- Go into your Analytics and then the profile for your site.
- Go to admin and in the third column of All Website Data click on Goals.
- You should now see an empty area, Click on the red button of "New Goal".
- Now you can select a template out of four option with pre-filled configuration or go to Custom option and name your "goal" and select the type. If it's a normal conversion tracking, select the "Destination"and add the URL of your "thank-you" page.
- Just click on "Verify this goal" to check everything is set-up correctly and click "create goal" button.
It's the most simplest way to add/track conversions/goals. If you're looking to explore more advanced tracking options, please refer to these links:

Tracking Facebook Mobile Visits to Desktop Conversions?
Hi. If I set an ad in Facebook, I can obviously track visits, conversions and so on from that ad and see if they where mobile or desktop. However, how do I, if possible track a mobile visitor who the converts on a desktop? Eg. I go on XXX Facebook Ad on my mobile whilst in work, look around. Like what I see. Suggestions to Improve Worst Conversion Form Ever Designed?
My commercial real estate web site has about the worst conversion form ever designed (http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/visitor-details). The form appears whenever a visitor does a property search. If they do not release their phone number and email address they don't get results. The form only gets completed 25% of the time and often the contact details are wrong. The visitors either exit the site at that page or go to the listing or neighborhood pages to view listings without doing a filtered search. In an attempt to increase conversions we are softening the form and not making completion mandatory. After entering an inquiry the visitor will be shown three property listings before the form pops up, The idea being that once they have seen product they will be more inclined to release contact info. Also, the form will appear once they have viewed three listings anywhere on the site, not just for search results. Unlike the existing conversion form (http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/visitor-details) we are trying to keep the text very concise. The new form will be Java script rather than a URL. Can anyone offer some ideas on how to make the text of these new forms more enticing? The forms are listed below. We will probably show the first one after the visitor views 3 listings and the variation of it after the visitor views another 3 listings. ** FORM #1** Quit wasting time searching for listings. Tracking homepage visits
Hi Mozzers, I run a website that has some buttons on the homepage. These URL's are not unique as they are accessible from the nav bar at the top of the page. I want to see the conversion rate of the homepage buttons. Is this possible? I currently use Crazy Egg to see how many people are clicking on the buttons but I want more information as I'm sure whether they are converting. Thanks, Karl

Google Product Ads - Improving our Cost Per Conversion?
Hi all, We have been running Google Product Ads (paid for) ever since it began in the UK. We are still struggling to get to grips with the best way to make it worthwhile for us. Our data for the last 14 days:

CTR: 2.78%
Average CPC: £0.22
Cost Per Conversion: £15.13 We've added some auto targets for our most popular brands, with a higher CPC than "all products". We've also added negative keywords so we only come up with relevant searches. Basically, what we'd like to know is: how we can best set-up our product ads to reduce our Cost Per Conversion (I guess everyone would like to do that!), as it is barely worth us using it currently. OK Mozers! Here's the situation (my parents went away on a weeks vacation...) • I am managing an online furniture retail website Infurn .com • Our budget is 500 euro per day and we need basically 20% cost per sale and im hovering at 30 - 35% • I recently was given the opportunity to participate in The Conversion Optimiser which allows you to set a desired CPA and Google works its magic geting you that target by adjusting your bids accordingly using historical campaign data. • Is this something I should use? Or should I continue to hone my ad groups, bids, products, landing pages, and ad copy until I reach my 15 - 20% CPA goal? Thanks!

Can I track user journeys from a particular source?
We want to track users from a particular campaign to see what they do when they get to the site. The site generates revenue from clicks out so we want to be able to see whether visitors from a particular source click on multiple deals. i.e. enters from the source and then clicks on 3 different deals that take the user to other sites. Using GA, can I track this by implementing UTM on both the campaign links and outgoing links? Can I see exactly how many deals the average user is clicking on? As far as I know I can: Track visitors from the campaign Track overall clicks on deals Divide click outs by visitors But I can't track how many deals the visitors from campaign A clicked on... or can I?
