Site Link Issues

For several search terms I get site links for the page http://www.waikoloavacationrentals.com/kolea-rentals/kolea-condos/
It makes sense that that page be a site link as it is one of my most used pages, but the problem is google gave it the site link "Kolea 10A". I am having 0 luck making any sense of why that was chosen. It should be something like "Kolea Condos" or something of that nature.
Does anyone have any thoughts on where google is coming up with this?

That is actually a good thought, but Kolea 10A is a little below average in traffic compared to the others.

Do you know how many clicks, visits, or bookings the Kolea 10A link has versus other bedroom villas on the page? maybe that could be a factor.

Yeah, I'm honestly not seeing much rhyme nor reason to that. There are plenty of other properties listed on the page. Your header structure is slightly odd, but your title tag and other meta data seem fine. I'm not sure why Google has grabbed "Kolea 10A". It could be due to some inbound anchor text (in links from other sites), but it would take quite a few, I'm guessing (one or two links is going to lead to Google overruling the title).
The queries I'm finding it on have nothing to do with "Kolea 10A", so I don't think this is query-dependent. Unfortunately, much like with title rewrites, Google hasn't given us any control over the process.
I'm noticing that the other two links I see are "Kolea Map" and "Kolea Beach Club", neither of which are coming from the page titles. They seem to be coming from internal links, such as on this page:
http://www.waikoloavacationrentals.com/kolea-rentals/
I wonder if there's an internal link with the specific property for some reason, or possibly inbound links or bad sitemap data? Not sure how to circumvent that other than possibly give the page a shorter title that Google is more likely to use. You can sometimes use the NOODP tag to prevent some rewrites, but that tends to be a crap-shoot (it's risk-free, but it rarely works).

I use terms like "Kolea Rentals". The site link is good, but just not the term they chose.

What search query are you using to get those site-links? They can be query-dependent. As others have said, you don't really have much control other than to demote them. Google will rewrite site-links just like they'll rewrite titles. In some cases, it's because they feel the title is a poor match to the query or that the title is long or a little spammy, but that's not always the case. Sometimes, the rewrites can feel more than a little arbitrary.

Well that is mentioned on the page 3 times, so Google is clearly liking it for some reason. As to why, that is something of a mystery.

To be honest, I am not looking for anything particular. Kolea Rentals or Kolea Condos would make the most sense. Kolea 10A makes 0 sense and I can not see from any of the code where they would have generated that from.Some of it is just curiosity as to how google came up with that.

What would you prefer the sitelink to say? It isn't an easy job to get them changed because we have so little control over it, but there are best practice changes you can do, as Rob has already said.

The page is a great site link, but the text used does not correctly describe the page. I am not aware of anything done on the page that would make Google think it should be "Kolea 10A".

Hi Rob,
I assume you are aware of that Google only show sitelinks for results when they think that 'll be useful to the user.
If you don't want to show "Kolea 10A" as sitelink you can demote them. As far as best practice is concern Google said
"There are best practices you can follow, however, to improve the quality of your sitelinks. For example, for your site's internal links, make sure you use anchor text and
alttext that's informative, compact, and avoids repetition."Thanks

Unsolved URL dynamic structure issue for new global site where I will redirect multiple well-working sites.
Dear all, We are working on a new platform called [https://www.piktalent.com](link url), were basically we aim to redirect many smaller sites we have with quite a lot of SEO traffic related to internships. Our previous sites are some like www.spain-internship.com, www.europe-internship.com and other similars we have (around 9). Our idea is to smoothly redirect a bit by a bit many of the sites to this new platform which is a custom made site in python and node, much more scalable and willing to develop app, etc etc etc...to become a bigger platform. For the new site, we decided to create 3 areas for the main content: piktalent.com/opportunities (all the vacancies) , piktalent.com/internships and piktalent.com/jobs so we can categorize the different types of pages and things we have and under opportunities we have all the vacancies. The problem comes with the site when we generate the diferent static landings and dynamic searches. We have static landing pages generated like www.piktalent.com/internships/madrid but dynamically it also generates www.piktalent.com/opportunities?search=madrid. Also, most of the searches will generate that type of urls, not following the structure of Domain name / type of vacancy/ city / name of the vacancy following the dynamic search structure. I have been thinking 2 potential solutions for this, either applying canonicals, or adding the suffix in webmasters as non index.... but... What do you think is the right approach for this? I am worried about potential duplicate content and conflicts between static content dynamic one. My CTO insists that the dynamic has to be like that but.... I am not 100% sure. Someone can provide input on this? Is there a way to block the dynamic urls generated? Someone with a similar experience? Regards,

Recently migrated to https version of volusion site. 301 redirect link chain question
I recently migrated to a https version of a volusion site. They have some type of internal 301 redirect method to accommodate for the entire site. I have also used the 301 redirect manager to redirect categories and pages which I have changed. The question is if I have changed a page internally in the redirect manager from say source. /bluewidget to say. target. /superbluewidget is it wiser or even possible to do it this way to reduce the redirect chain from 3 to 2 steps source. /bluewidget to. target https://www.example/superbluewidget can a relative link be targeted to a full url to reduce steps in a 301 redirect link chain. Disavow links and domain of SPAM links
Hi, I have a big problem. For the past month, my company website has been scrape by hackers. This is how they do it: 1. Hack un-monitored and/or sites that are still using old version of wordpress or other out of the box CMS. 2. Created Spam pages with links to my pages plus plant trojan horse and script to automatically grab resources from my server. Some sites where directly uploaded with pages from my sites. 3. Pages created with title, keywords and description which consists of my company brand name. 4. Using http-referrer to redirect google search results to competitor sites. What I have done currently: 1. Block identified site's IP in my WAF. This prevented those hacked sites to grab resources from my site via scripts. 2. Reach out to webmasters and hosting companies to remove those affected sites. Currently it's not quite effective as many of the sites has no webmaster. Only a few hosting company respond promptly. Some don't even reply after a week. Problem now is: When I realized about this issue, there were already hundreds if not thousands of sites which has been used by the hacker. Literally tens of thousands of sites has been crawled by google and the hacked or scripted pages with my company brand title, keywords, description has already being index by google. Routinely everyday I am removing and disavowing. But it's just so much of them now indexed by Google. Question: 1. What is the best way now moving forward for me to resolve this? 2. Disavow links and domain. Does disavowing a domain = all the links from the same domain are disavow? 3. Can anyone recommend me SEO company which dealt with such issue before and successfully rectified similar issues? Note: SEAGM is company branded keyword 5CGkSYM.png

Site-wide Links
Hey y'all, I know this question has been asked many times before but I wanted to see what your stance was on this particular case. The organisation I work for is a group of 12 companies - each with its own website. On some of the sites we have a link to the other sites within the group on every single page of that site. Our organic search traffic has dropped a bit but not significantly and we haven't received any manual penalties from Google. It's also worth mentioning that the referral traffic for these sites from the other sites I control is quite good and the bounce rate is extremely low. If you were in my shoes would you remove the links, put a nofollow tag on the links or leave the links as they are? Thanks guys 🙂

Canonical Issue?
Hi, I was using the On Page Report Card Tool here on SEOMOZ for the following page: http://www.priceline.com/eventi-a-kimpton-hotel-new-york-city-new-york-ny-1614979-hd.hotel-reviews-hotel-guides and it claims there is a canonical issue or improper use of it. Penalities in a brand new site, Sandbox Time or rather a problem of the site?
Hi guys, 4 weeks ago we launched a site www.adsl-test.it. We just make some article marketing and developed a lots of functionalities to test and share the result of the speed tests runned throug the site. We have been for weeks in 9th google serp page then suddendly for a day (the 29 of february) in the second page next day the website home is disappeared even to brand search like adsl-test. The actual situalion is: it looks like we are not banned (site:www.adsl-test.it is still listed) GWT doesn't show any suggestion and everything looks good for it we are quite high on bing.it and yahoo.it (4th place in the first page) for adsl test search Anybody could help us to understand? Another think that I thought is that we create a single ID for each test that we are running and these test are indexed by google Ex: <cite>www.adsl-test.it/speedtest/w08ZMPKl3R or</cite> <cite>www.adsl-test.it/speedtest/P87t7Z7cd9</cite> Actually the content of these urls are quite different (because the speed measured is different) but, being a badge the other contents in the page are pretty the same. Could be a possible reason? I mean google just think we are creating duplicate content also if they are not effectively duplicated content but just the result of a speed test?

How to produce no follow links on my joomla site
Hi i have been reading that if you have links going out of your site then this can damage your site, so i have been trying to find out, how i can do no follow links for some of the affliate sites that i have on my site. I have a couple of adverts on my site and i would like to turn these into no follow links while the rest of my internal links on my page are to stay follow links but in joomla i am not sure how to do this. can anyone please give me some advice

Is it possible to get a subdomain blog.site.com that is on tumblr to count toward site.com. I hoped I could point it in webmaster tools like we do www but alas no. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
