Iframe weather widget

We have an iframe widget that many other sites had place in their websites.
That widget is in iframe. Does it pass google juice to links we have there ?

Hi Matt, thanks!

I tend to agree with Vanessa's answer (Hi Vanessa welcome to the community),
but out of interest how many links does Google Webmaster Tools say your site has and what pages are these links pointing at? I would have a look and also compare this to what opensitexplorer.org says about your sites link profile.
You might also find this article interesting in relation to this -

I have seen much debate around this topic but it would interesting to see if your site holds a clue as to whether or not any link juice has been passed - does Google recognise any links in webmaster tools that come from pages that only contain your widget and no other link to your site?

From other threads, it seems that iframes don't pass link juice. However, many people place links after the widget code.
Here's an earlier Moz thread that might give you some answers: http://www.seomoz.org/q/how-to-get-seo-juice-from-a-widget-iframe
Hope this helps.

Does iframe itself count as a backlink?
Our situation is similar to YouTube. We have an original content on every subpage that is genuinely useful when embedded as a widget on 3r party websites. That is why we offer an embeddable widget that shows slightly simplified version of the content - exactly like a YouTube video embedded on your blog. The embed code is simply an iframe sourcing from our subpage: <iframe src="wikibudgets.org/subpage"></p> </blockquote> <p>1/ Does the iframe itself pass any link value at all to the subpage?</p> <p>2/ If yes, what would be the equivalent of anchor text in iframe?</p> <p>3/ If not, will any link in the subpage pass link value from the 3rd party website to my domain/subpage?</p> <p>4/ If not, will I be punished/rewarded if I ask users to put a visible, unobfuscated link to the subpage below the iframe?</p> <blockquote style="background: #f7f7f7; padding-top: 5px; margin-left: 0px; padding-left: 2px; padding-bottom: 5px; white-space: nowrap; overflow-y: auto; font-family: monospace;"> <p><iframe src="wikibudgets.org/subpage" /><a href="wikibudgets.org/subpage">rich anchor text</a></p> </blockquote></iframe>

Linkspamming through references widget?
Dear Mozzers, I have a question concerning a references widget. Im not sure if this should be seen as linkspamming. The reason im asking this is when i check out some linkdata one referring site pops up 100's of times because they've put a widget on their site showing clients they worked with in slideshow form. How is this handled by Google. Do they consider this spamming or do they just see this as one link? Im just curious how damaging this could be or how beneficial and what to hold in mind regarding these situations. Thx! Sander

In light of penguin - what are your thoughts on widget based link-building?
Hi all, I thought it would be interesting to see if people's perceptions of widget based link building have changed. By that I mean - Do you think it's ok to give somebody a tool to use oon their website with a reference to the creator of that tool or will that count as 'manipulative or unnatural' link building? I'll start the discussion off by saying... I think this type of link building is ok and legitimate as you are merely referencing the creator of the tool whose widget you are using on your website. My only caveat would be to ensure that the anchor text is not manipulative but relevant. Looking forward to hearing what you all think about this as I'm sure many people maybe put off by doing this.

Can link juice be passed in an iframe from domain A to domain B
Need to give our web partners our booking form which must be loaded in an iframe calling back to our domain. Is it possible to pass any link juice from their domain loading our iframe back to us. Was thinking of a "Powered by" text link in the form footer, but I'm guessing the link needs to be outside the iframe. Would love to hear any thoughts or workarounds on this.
