My wepgages aren't crawled by google
-
Most of my webpages aren't crawled by google.
Why is that and what can i do to make google index at least most of my webpages? -
Well, Google does have a crawl budget, they might be using that for your most popular pages. As long as your indexed pages number is going up, that means google is working its way through the backlog.

My website is a yellow pages site from Greece www.vreite.gr
It has registered more than 175.000 businesses and every business has 6 profile pages(main page, product page, feed page etc.)
Many visitors engage with these pages and are absolutely dunamic pages.
Is that a problem? -
The only site I can think of that would legitimately have 400,000 pages is Amazon.com. Google probably thinks your site is full of a ton of low quality content. Why in the world do you have that many pages? Are they low quality garbage? Do any visitors actually engage this even a fraction of them?

Hi
Yes my site is crawlable.
I checked if robots.txt or noindex tags and canonical urls and everything is fine.
Maybe is it because my website has over 400.000 pages -
Hi
You didn't answer the first part of Zoe's question - are you sure that your site is crawlable and that there are no issues with the robots.txt / noindex tags, ip detection systems, canonicals on all pages pointing to the home and so on. It's not because you can see all pages of your site in a browser that they are accessible/crawlable/indexable by google.
Try a crawl with Screaming Frog and user agent Googlebot to see if your pages can be crawled and indexed.
Backlinks are needed to have your site ranked for keywords - but it's not a prerequisite to have your site crawled. (noticed that a few times when a dev site was indexed by accident)
Without the actual url it's impossible to give a more detailed answer.

Hi,
Backlinks certainly help, if there's no links at all to your site that could be a reason, but it's hard to say without looking deeper.
Are your internal pages all linked to each other? Does your website have a structured navigation system? This is also really necessary to ensure Google will index your whole site, not just a couple of pages.

Hi
I added my website to Google Webmaster Tools and i checked my website and i don't have any crawling issues.
I added my website to Dmoz but the backling didn't appear yet.My site is live for about a year and google doesn't crawl most of my webpages yet.
Is it because i don't have quality backlinks?Thank you
-
Hi,
Firstly I'd check that Google can index your website. Have you added your site to Google Webmaster Tools? I'd start there and check for any crawl issues, especially your robots.txt file and any no-indexing of pages.
Secondly, if your website is brand new, I'd add your website to Dmoz & some relevant good quality sites like Yelp, Yell, Yellowpages, Google Plus (where relevant). Make sure the details you add to each match exactly with the details on your website. It will take some time for your site to appear in Google's index- sometimes a few days, sometimes a week or so- you can check by typing site:yourdomainname.com into a Google search to find the pages.
If your website is not new & has been indexed by Google before, I'd investigate whether you have a penalty. This post on penalties from white.net is really useful!
Hope this helps,
Zoe

How do I handle a redirect chain issue pertaining to a page that doesn't actually exist on my site?
I have a page showing up on the insights report as being a redirect chain. This page however does not exist as far as I can tell. It is not on my dashboard anywhere and pointing a browser to it produces a messy page with Wordpress theme error code spit out. How do I track this down to clean it up if the page does not exist within my Wordpress installation? The page for reference is https://butlermobility.com/dealers/downloads. As it stands today the dealers and downloads pages are separate. There is no downloads sub page within the dealers section.

I have 404 errors but can't find where these links are?
The 4xx report had 0 errors, and then on the recent crawl it found over 200. They are all variations on real URLs e.g.: Real URL: http://www.bullseyeuk.com/10-up-deluxe-literature-holder.html 404 Error URL: http://www.bullseyeuk.com/10-up-deluxe-literature-holder.html None of them are linked to the root domain and I can't find where they are coming from. Any ideas? Thanks Jack

Google indexing less url's then containded in my sitemap.xml
My sitemap.xml contains 3821 urls but Google (webmaster tools) indexes only 1544 urls. What may be the cause? There is no technical problem. Why does Google index less URLs then contained in my sitemap.xml?

Panda or Penquin -Website Fell - Shouldn't this Recover?
On March 23rd our site fell 47% in one day. www.TranslationSoftware4u.com but we still held quite a few #1 to #7 rankings on Google and thought it would just recover. Our top keyword "translation software" was #4 , now we are #19 Over the next week I waited to see if it recovered. We have been online 10+ years and always stayed with white hat. I admit to learning as I go over the years but always felt content was king so I focused on information. I really do not see my site as using spam techniques but maybe I am missing something on the way I have it. March 23rd, major drop -47% On April 2nd I started with SEO MOZ and the Research tools showed we had duplicate content warning. This was from a blog we were trying to start that only had 7 posts but it had about 20 tags per post. I did not realize that tags actually created that post under that tag. I went in and deleted the tags again being stupid and not realizing it was then making that come up 404. The blog was so small we do not get hits on it anyway so hoping it just clears itself up. ( still get duplicate warning on our directory due to using "php Link Directory", but it's due to how it reuses the title tag and description, 2 instances per category page"). Still trying to fix the php directory issue. Seems many others are running it and did not have a drop. April 24th, we dropped another -10% It keeps falling -70% now. I have gone through the site and tried to clean up any warnings like duplicate title tags, meta descriptions. With regards to links I put up a small web directory with some reciprocal linking. Our product translates languages but software is not the same as a human so we often set clients up with human translators, the directory is a nice place to help our customers find a translator or see online tools that can help. The links were not excessive, there were maybe 100 links. After the fall I went in and found some translators had gone out of business so I deleted those, I am down to 65 links now, about 45 are exchanges. I have submitted to some online directories manually, but looking back through the links there is not really anything that makes me concerned. The link back to my site was really the most neglected SEO thing I did. Again concentrating on content. I did find a few links that I was not happy about but I did not put those links so had no control. I have been working on cleaning up my title tags, and making sure the content just reads better. I have been hoping that my site would just start recovering but it keeps sliding. Has anyone seen recovery from the updates. Should I see anything yet? I cannot seem to get Google to return to the site and reindex. Am I doing somethign spammy on my site and I do not realize it? Thanks for any advice in advance!

Magento - Google Webmaster Crawl Errors
Hi guys, Started my free trial - very impressed - just thought I'd ask a question or two while I can. I've set up the website for http://www.worldofbooks.com (large bookseller in the UK), using Magento. I'm getting a huge amount of not found crawl errors (27,808), I think this is due to URL rewrites, all the errors are in this format (non search friendly): http://www.worldofbooks.com/search_inventory.php?search_text=&category=&tag=Ure&gift_code=&dd_sort_by=price_desc&dd_records_per_page=40&dd_page_number=1 As oppose to this format: http://www.worldofbooks.com/arts-books/history-of-art-design-styles/the-art-book-by-phaidon.html (the re-written URL). This doesn't seem to really be affecting our rankings, we targeted 'cheap books' and 'bargain books' heavily - we're up to 2nd for Cheap Books and 3rd for Bargain Books. So my question is - are these large amount of Crawl errors cause for concern or is it something that will work itself out? And secondly - if it is cause for concern will it be affecting our rankings negatively in any way and what could we do to resolve this issue? Any points in the right direction much appreciated. If you need any more clarification regarding any points I've raised just let me know. Benjamin Edwards

Destination URL in SERPs keeps changing and I can't work out why.. Help.
I am befuddled as to why our destination URL in SERPs keeps changing oak furniture was nicely returning http://www.thefurnituremarket.co.uk/oakfurniture.asp then I changed something yesterday I did 2 things. published a link to that on facebook as part of a competition. redirected dynamic pages to the static URL for oak furniture.. Now for oak furniture the SERPs in GG UK is returning our home page as the most relevant landing page.. Any Idea why? I'm leaning to an onpage issue than posting on FB.. Thoughts?
