Location pages for Two location business
-
Hi friends,
I have a website with two brick and mortar locations. Right now I have both NAP's listed on every page on the sidebar and footer. I don't have either in schema format yet, as I don't know if I can have two schema's on the same page.
1. In the near future, I will be publishing pages for each individual location, but I want to keep the NAP of the other location on that page also, in case the visitor would prefer that location (they are only a few towns away from each other) Is that going to cause issues? Should I only have the NAP of that location? Which should I have schema data for?
2. Also, I have location pages for the surrounding cities, which we have added a Google Map with directions to the closest location, written directions, a few local reviews, and a paragraph about services. I want to publish these asap to rank in those ~10 other nearby locations. What NAP should I have on those pages? The closest location, or both?
3. Linking in the Google Local/My Business. I have verified both locations Google Local's, and I want to link them into the respective Two locations once published, but I want to do it properly. I read on one location seo article that I should change the website listed on the Google Local profile to the new url of that location, and link to the Google Local on that page. Is this correct? Which Google profile do I link to in the other location pages? or both?

Hey There!
This is the strategy I would recommend:
-
You have 2 locations. Put them in the masthead of the website to make that first glance impression that you've got 2 locations.
-
Build a landing page for each of the 2 locations and make the content on them unique and awesome, with the complete NAP in Schema at the top for just the correct location. I do not advise putting both locations on the 2 landings pages.
-
Don't put NAP on the landing pages for the non-physical locations, and be sure there is a genuine reason for the existence of these pages. Normally, location-less landing pages are built for service area businesses, not brick-and-mortar concerns. For example, it makes good horse sense for a plumber to explain that he services cities A, B, C and D, but for a dentist, saying that his customers may come to him from cities A,B,C and D is not really natural or helpful. Unless there is some genuine connection between the business and these surrounding cities, it would likely be better to focus on different types of content development that will make the site stronger rather than watering the site down with content that's a stretch in terms of usefulness. Please feel free to share further details about this, but normally, city landing pages of the type you are describing are best for SABs, not B&Ms, unless there is a strong connection between the business and some other city in which they are not located.
-
Put both locations, in Schema, in the footer and on the Contact page. Combined with the NAP in the masthead, this should address the need to be sure customers know you've got 2 locations.
-
Definitely do link all citations (including the GMB listing) to the right landing page for each of the 2 locations. Be consistent.
Hope this helps!

Hi Justin,
Don't sweat having the NAP of both locations on multiple pages if you don't mark those up with schema.org. FYI, multiple schema.org objects on a page is perfectly normal, even of the same type.
Be sure you have dedicated pages for each location, and on THOSE pages, mark the NAP up with schema. Then, in your Google My Business pages, you want to link to the specific location page that corresponds to the GMB page, NOT to your home page.
You can link back to the GMB page from the location-specific page on your website, or from all pages (e.g. in the footer).

Google My Business answers not appearing
We've been trying to use the GMB Q&A feature as a lot of customers seem to be engaging with the listing/asking relevant questions. However, sometimes we answer a question directly from the business listing account but it does not appear (no error message is shown when posting either). When we go to re-post the answer, the text is sometimes still visible in the answer box field. Any ideas what might be causing the issue?

Categories for Google My Business pages - do they need to match terms on website?
I have a chiropractor client with three locations. Because the Chiropractor category is very competitive, whomever originally set-up their GMB pages elected to use the category "Pain Control Clinic" for two locations, and "Medical Center" for the third location. They rank badly for these categories. Their website does not contain many signals for pain control or medical center; it is very much chiropractor focused. Is this something Google takes into consideration when deciding how to rank GMB pages?

Local Listing - Service Business with Three Areas Served
A client of mine owns a business that is a service (i.e. they do not have a storefront). They service three major markets - Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Nashville, TN. When talking to the Google My Business team, they said we needed to set up only one listing based on where we were headquartered (which is Atlanta) and then list that we service the other markets so that it shows in the listing. So we have one business listing set up as a service but headquartered in Atlanta and show the service area as Atlanta, Nashville and Charlotte. Does this seem correct? There is a lot of competition for them so looking to boost local search as much as possible. Thanks!

Can't get past the 15th page of Google SERPs
I've been doing Local SEO for 9 years and have never had an issue that frustrated me as much as this one. I have a client who I can't get past the 15th page of Google's SERPS for their #1 KW. Here are the details: The domain is 4 months old In that 4 month span the site has gone from a DA 1 to a DA 24 Spam score is a 0. I know this doesn't mean a ton but I can tell you from closely reviewing their AHrefs report, there's no influx of spammy links or anything like that. The design is a custom wordpress design The content is 100% unique and professionally written content The backlink profile (in my opinion) is full of high DA and PA sites from authority sites with high trust flow ... in my opinion their backlinks are superior to all but maybe a handful of competitors. I was not expecting 1st page results by now but I would have expected top 50 results a the very least. But to not crack the top 15 tells me there's some major issue here. I really need some insight as to what could be holding me back here ... I don't want to share the domain publicly but but I will PM you it if you're interested in taking a crack at it. I will seriously pay someone a small fortune if they can help me figure this out.

Duplicate Google Plus and Google My Business Listings
My business has duplicate listings for both Google + and Google Places or Maps or My Business or whatever it's called today. Of course the listings that I want to show are marked as duplicates, and the only option is to remove the duplicates. Is there any way to merge these listings or switch which one Google recognizes?

Google+ Business Listings: Hours Displayed Incorrectly
Hi, When I do a search for our brand + location name (basically making sure we at least appear for that) the hours displayed are incorrect except when I log into our account to edit the hours they are right. Ex: Google SERP displays hours 8am - 11pm but within business listing account hours entered are 8pm - 10pm. Has anyone come across this and why would it be? Is it a case of other citations showing the incorrect hours? Thanks for your help WMCA

Local Listings SEO: Which multi-location retailers are doing a super job with local listings? I'm also interested in finding retailers who are using schema.org microdata format to structure their store-level data.
Do you know of any enterprise level restaurant or retail chains that are doing a great job with their local listings content? Just looking for some links/examples of best practice executions. Also, I'm very interested in finding retailers or other multi-location businesses that are using schema.org microdata format to structure their local store location data.
