Regarding this: ? how do you conclude this a spammy? any better way?
I'm specifically referring to the second instance of the product name. You only need to include the product name one time.
Regarding this: (im trying to build brand, is it not necessary? I see many ecommerce titles?
It's only taking up character space for something that's already visible in the search results. There are better ways to build your brand than this.
Regarding the overstock example: their title tags aren't exactly what I'd call SEO-friendly
With your product titles being so long, your title tag should only be the name of the product, once.

thanks for your quick reply and really appreciated
look at this url, they have Buy, online, prices, india on each product url?
ACDelco 40-count Super Alkaline AA Batteries - this is redundant and therefore spammy? how do you conclude this a spammy? any better way?
Domain.com - your domain information is already in the URL, not needed in title

So wht is the finally go? Pls suggest
and look at this site title? so big
Sorry I have taken one example, to explain it.. thanks

Here's my take on your title tag, broken down by part:
ACDelco 40-count Super Alkaline AA Batteries - this product title is all you need
Buy - the intent of this search already implies a purchase-based query, so 'buy' is unnecessary
ACDelco 40-count Super Alkaline AA Batteries - this is redundant and therefore spammy
online at Best Prices: -'online' isn't necessary, if someone is searching, they're already online
Domain.com - your domain information is already in the URL, not needed in title
A title tag formatted like this is almost certainly going to prevent improved organic visibility. Keep it as concise as you can while still being descriptive.

How to separate your - keywords - and | Brand name in the Title Tag
I have traditionally used hyphens (-) and vertical bars (|) to separate out keywords/brands in title tags. A client has asked if other characters will work such as tilde (~), apersat (@), forward slash (/) etc. Are there any special characters we should steer clear of?

Meta Title Pipes and Spacing
I've been doing optimization on a clients website and want to make sure I'm maximizing my characters. Does anyone have any feedback on the spacing in between the pipes ( | ) ? IE: Internet Marketing Company | Denver SEO | Brand Name Do the spaces before and after the pipes play a role in whether the search engines can distinguish the keyword or is it all considered one word if there is no spaces such as: IE: Internet Marketing Company|Denver SEO|Brand Name Any information will be super helpful. Thanks for your help!

Duplicate Page Content Should we 301 - Best Practices?
What would be the best way to avoid a Duplicate Page Content for these type of pages. Our website generates user friendly urls, for each page..
On-Page Optimization | | 365ToursSafaris
So it is the same exact page, just both versions of the url work.. Example: http://www.safari365.com/about-africa/wildebeest-migration http://www.safari365.com/wildebeest-migration I don't think adding code to the page will work because its the same page for the incorrect and correct versions of the page. I don't think i can use the URL parameter setting because the version with /about-africa/ is the correct (correct as it it follows the site navigation) I was thinking of using the htaccess to redirect to the correct version.. Will that work ? and does it follow best Practices ? any other suggestions that would work better ?0 -
Title Tag, Internal Categories, Long tail
Hello, For internal categories - those that are not in the main navigation - we're optimizing for the long tail. How do you optimize the title tag for the long tail? For example if the internal category is about Men's shoes -> "Adidas Crosstrainers" and you already have a page in the main navigation with "Adidas Crosstrainers" in the title, what kind of title do you use for the long tail category? These categories are usually for the convenience of the user. I assume they should each have at least 500 words in them to do the best long tail searches. Thanks.

More long tails for longer title
Hello, Will a longer, two big phrase title gather more long tails overall than a title with one short keyword? Example: Would this: Title: Nike Running Shoes, Adidas Tennis Shoes create more long tails overall than this title: Title: Running Shoes or is more dependent on other things, like content? It seems like you'd be more likely to hit more phrases strongly with a long title. If that's true doesn't it make sense to always use a longer title when possible? Thanks.

Duplicate Page Title
I have a dating site, it's got a lot of duplicate page titles, most of them are the language buttons for the users to view the site in there language. but I think it's obvious that the buttons don't have anything to do with it. I'm thinking that page tittle is basically a description of what the site is. like for an example "online-dating" is this it? please tell me in terms for a dummy, how to fix it.

Would it be wise to change title tags on the fly? ex. NFL regular season is now complete and they are into the playoffs, want to optimize and structure page around new info. Worried about losing current rank. Thanks guys

Page title
So if we have a main category page on our site (mines an ecommerce site), do we go for more than that main keyword phrase for that category of products, or is it better to just keep it by itself, and not utilize the 65-70 characters available?
