.com or .co.uk

I have ownership over the .co.uk and the .com for my brand name and I was wondering which URL I should use.
Most my sales come from within the UK, (with only a small amount from the US).
Currently I'm using the .co.uk and redirecting the .com URL but should I be doing this the other way around?

You need to use domain extension most of your clients familiar with. Yes, .com is international and most recognized, but I'd say it only for global brands or sites with no geo targeting or clients in one specific country.
In your case, the UK buyers will be more likely to click and visit you, because they all know about .co.uk and more confident to click on "local" sites (more trust).
I have a similar situation with two e-commerce sites in France and Russia where same domain name .com redirects to .ru and .fr.

I think Alick300 makes a great point. Unless you wish to expand your international market, then the .co.uk might be the best option. You could have your cake and eat it too by setting up both and using Hreflang to serve up the co.uk to your searches in the UK and your .com for the everyone outside the UK.

IMO you should use .co.uk because most of the sales are coming from UK. I was in the same situation few years back and I found people clicked more on .co.uk domain. Several visitors doesn't click on .com domain in SERPs because they think that sites belongs to USA.

Are links safe from friendsite.com?
I have just checked my backlinks in Majestic and was shocked. It appears I've gained 1500 back links in 1 day all from the domains friendsite.com. I checked a few of the links and the links to my site have disappeared. Looking at friendsite.com, it seems that peopel can bookmark a site, and when they do it appears on the "latest bookmerk" section which is site wide. So my concern is that: 1500 links have appeared in one day from one domain 1500 links disappeared the next day Wouldnt both of these cause Google to get suspicious? What should I do? Should I ask friendsite.com to remove the links?

Wordpress.com content feeding into site's subdomain, who gets SEO credit?
I have a client who had created a Wordpress.com (not Wordpress.org) blog, and feeds blog posts into a subdomain blog.client-site.com. My understanding was that in terms of SEO, Wordpress.com would still get the credit for these posts, and not the client, but I'm seeing conflicting information. All of the posts are set with permalinks on the client's site, such as blog.client-site.com/name-of-post, and when I run a Google site:search query, all of those individual posts appear in the Google search listings for the client's domain. Also, I've run a marketing.grader.com report, and these same results are seen. Looking at the source code on the page, however, I see this information which leads me to believe the content is being credited to, and fed in from, Wordpress.com ('client name' altered for privacy): href="http://client-name.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/could_you_survive_a_computer_disaster.jpeg">class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-2050" title="Could_you_survive_a_computer_disaster" src="http://client-name.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/could_you_survive_a_computer_disaster.jpeg?w=150&h=143" I'm looking to provide a recommendation to the client on whether they are ok to continue moving forward with this current setup, or whether we should port the blog posts over to a subfolder on their primary domain www.client-site.com/blog and use Wordpress.org functionality, for proper SEO. Redirect posts from a wordpress.com blog over to a self-hosted blog
Hi All I started a wordpress.com blog with a few posts on it, and these have been shared using social media so links to these exist on Facebook and Twitter. I've decided that its going to be better and more effective to have the blog on my primary domain. How would I setup a redirect from the wordpress.com blog to my self hosted blog? Normally I'd write a .htaccess file but I'm unable to do that over at wordpress.com. I can't even see an option to install plugins, otherwise I would have used the "Redirector" plugin.

Hi I have written 2 articles for 2 seperate businesses and markets. One article is a Top 10 tips on choosing a conservatory How would I go about promoting and seeding this around related home improvement websites around the UK, use stumbleupon? 2. I also have recipes for a restaurant which I need to seed and promote online in order to gain links and promote the restaurant. Have you ever seen this 404 error: 'www.mysite.com/Cached' in GWT?
Google webmaster tools just started showing some strange pages under "not found" crawl errors. www.mysite.com/Cached www.mysite.com/item-na... <--- with the three dots, INSTEAD of www.mysite.com/item-name/ I have just 301'd them for now, but is this a sign of a technical issue? The site is php/sql and I'm doing the URL rewrites/301s etc in .htaccess. Thanks! -Dan EDIT: Also, wanted to add, there is no 'linked to' page.
