Anchor text with punctuation
-
Hey Moz
Does anchor text with punctuation effect anything, does google even read it?
I know matching exact anchor text to high volume keywords doesn't matter as much any more - but it still definitely makes a different as our reports show.
Thanks

Hi Radi,
I would get rid of all punctuation except for "-" as it is seen as a space. If you use othe punctuations they are ignored. When added in a query the results are without the punctuation. Same goes for Bing.

Makes it easier for you I hope

Hidden text and mobile indexing
Hello, I believe mobile indexing 1 st is in place. Since then, does google give  the same value to content that is hidden behind a tab (for example a question where you need to click on the + to see the answer) as content that would be directly visible ? Thank you,

Pages coming from #anchor homepage not showing up in analitics.
I have a squarespace website with  links, on the homepage, to different pages with galleries.

The problem is that these pages are not showing in Google analitics. Probably because the #anchor. Like:  http://www.fastingfotografie.nl/#/portretfotografie/ Is there a way to track these pages? Thanks. Thomas0 -
Is using JavaScript injected text in line with best practice on making blocks of text non-crawlable?
I have an ecommerce website that has common text on all the product pages, e.g. delivery and returns information. Is it ok to use non-crawlable JavaScript injected text as a method to make this content invisible to search engines? Or is this method frowned upon by Google? By way of background info - I'm concerned about duplicate/thin content, so want to tackle this by reducing this 'common text' as well as boosting unique content on these pages. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Changing broken links and Anchor text be a problem?
Hi, Changing broken links and Anchor text be a problem? We have 80K pages which has about 40K links which has been created in the last few years and from last month we have been working on updating content on those pages that's old and links that are broken and changing the anchor text in those posts. Anchor text like Click me, Here,Download, link, etc is changed to meaningful words. its a total close to 10K link replacements and 10K anchor text. While doing this from last month have seen a slight decrease in daily traffic. is this something Google would consider as some kind of a wrong webmaster activity? or its just fine? Thanks

Anchor text analysis
Hello! I'm doing a systematic review of my site after getting a bit of a  heavy punishment from google last month. I think things are going in the right direction, but wanted some advice on anchor text. Here is a link to the top 200 terms as exported from WMT; https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AkGVm349qCtIdHYzR01EVDhBOHFIekJZS0FVbG9RN1E#gid=0 Can someone give me some advice on whether anything looks suspicious or not? or is it not that simple? My site is madegood.org. Thanks so much in advance. I've had some fantastic help on here already, but really any advice is appreciated. Cheers

What is the verdict on using negative text indent on a slider
Hi, I am trying to work out the best way of developing a slider on a page which may include text that I'd like indexed by search engines. One method I've read about is to use negative text indent, but people seem undecided on whether this is a good / bad / fine technique with regards to SEO. I'd be interested in hearing the communities views and experience on this. Thanks in advance.

Duplicate content q - Can search engines tell where the original text was copied from?
I was under the impression that when a search engine comes across duplicate content it won't be able to determine which one is the original. Is this not the case?

Replace Header Text With Image
I have a static website that I would like to retheme. I have the mockup, and its spliced. The website holds nice rankings right now, and I want to keep them in place. The one thing that will change with this new design is the header will no longer be text, but instead an image. Â Is there a way to ensure googlebot still sees the H1 tag header exactly how it is now but use an image for the header instead? I dont want any blackhat tricks that will get me banned. Just wondering if there is a simple way to have googlebot see the header as text (not ALT img txt) so the site does not appear to have changed at all. (It hasnt, I only am changing the graphics and colors of background, and header image for better branding.
