Historical Ranking of my Website vs. Competition

I recently received the dreaded "So, how do we rank?" question. Is there a way to use Moz Tools to measure how my site ranks for a specific period of time vs. other competitors for a specific keyword? My boss' boss is asking about how we have ranked for a specific topic over time vs. others. Which tools are best for me to use to try and answer that question? Thanks!

Hi Eric! Our Rank Tracker can certainly show you your rankings vs. competitors. However, we don't gather that data if you're not tracking it, so if your client wants to know how they used to rank against competitors before the campaign was created, you're out of luck.
Jordan mentions SEMRush, and I believe they may have a tool that can help.

Have you set up a campaign within Moz to track keyword positioning? It will give you some competitive information and with SEM Rush you should get a pretty good idea of how you are doing in comparison with your competition.

Ranking Keyword
Hi! I am Amelia My site rank 5 keyword in united states show that Ahref's and I check in Moz but that shows 1 rank key word and Ahref's shows the 59 backlinks and Moz shows 5 to 6 backlink why that shows low keyword and backlinks that's my site problem or Moz issues. Errors in my coding how significant is this regarding rankings ?
I posted a question on here yesterday about the homepage asking for advice regarding the content and then was told by two people were very helpful bbut moved over comment not on content but to say taht the major problem was that the coding on my website basically has too many errors which would result in me receiving lower rankings in the search engines. I realise this website is old-fashioned Dreamweaver template which was constructed several years ago which I've updated and I'm certainly not a professional, but I watch my Google analytics and there doesn't seem to be any significant change in the stats from this time last year. This is the site http://www.endeavourcottage.co.uk/ I realise the site is old format and has been around for several years it's just from customer feedback they seem to think it looks okay for the products old cottages but I guess technically it's not the best now. I have run a test using Silktide Nibbler - a free online service that gives you a good complete overview of your website with an overall score. And it did give my website an overall good score but did point out errors in the coding but when I checked some of my competitors near the top of Google for the short tail keywords some of them also have errors in their coding, very similar to my own error score.. I then went to Google Webmaster tools and there were no warning messages. So the big question is how important are these errors scores when it appears that most of the top competition also are in the same situation? I think it's quite possible I could do with a redesign using responsive design Best Alan

Ranking keyword ecommerce product
Hi guys, I run an ecommerce store footdistrict.com. We sell sneakers. My question relates to the name of some of my products and how to rank for them. This concerns to the shoes from New Balance The name of this products follows this format: New Balance XXNumberXXX . But actually I have realized I am ranking for New Balance XXNumber XXX . Note the space between the number and the last 3 characters. All my titles, h1, keywords follow this format. Example: New Balance WL574 RUP vs New Balance WL574RUP My questions are: 1. How would you determine which keyword to rank for: New Balance XXNumberXXX or New Balance XXNumber XXX? I have thought of using analytics data to see the pattern of the users search or maybe the difficulty of the keyword? I am receiving a decent amount of traffic for New Balance XXNumber XXX but I wonder if it'd be higher ranking for New Balance XXNumberXXX 2. Does the algorithmn take into account this space? According to the On page Grader, I have an A for New Balance XXNumber XXX and a F for New Balance XXNumber XXX but I assume the engine doesn't work this way 3. What would you do? Moztool and on page ranking matching
How does the Moztool compare and filter the search phrases you enter in your campaign? Or more correctly, will it filter out stop words or is it an exact match? For example I enter a phrase to track that say: "book ski trip austria" Identified in Google I see that most users search for just that "book ski trip austria" But in content, I cant write that as that is uncorrect english and I want to maby write something like: "When you book a ski trip to austria you get..." How will this affect my on page SEO report, will it still match and mark a "V" in done or show a an error? Even more interesting is, what happen if you do phrases in different order like "An austrian skip trip will make you feel..."

Merged websites issue
Hi Before my time, company big.com took over company small.com. They decided to replicate big.com web pages onto small.com - so both websites have identical pages and copy, just different domains. Within the small.com sitmap.xml they list only big.com urls. They are also using big.com google analytics tracking code on small.com. I have no idea what happened to the original content on small.com or if they put 301 redirects on. I am thinking: do a 301 redirect on small domain to big domain. A) Agree? Small domain is likely to have valuable historic inbound links which are now going to 404 pages. After I do the 301 should these then appear in big.com SEOMoz campaign and on big.com webmaster tool for me to fix? B) Views? Or should I get up webmaster tool on small.com and fix that first? SEOmoz campaign - keyword rankings...
Hi there, I have a quick question: Does it make a difference if I add keywords to a campaign with the '[' and ']' brackets included? I just realized that I had copy/pasted many of my keywords from the exported CSV from the Google AdWords Keyword Tool and I fear that the keyword rankings on SEOmoz might factor the brackets as part of the keywords themselves. Why is the Rankings Report of SeoMoz always show inaccurate results?
I have been using SEOmoz PRO tool from last two months but I am not happy with the SEOmoz PRO Ranking Report.The results are very inaccurate and I am not able to understand why there is such a difference in the ranking results when SEOmoz tracks and when I track?Please reply at the earliest.
