Hi Tariq!
Unfortunately there can be a variety of reasons why you might notice your rankings decreasing. Because of this, it's hard to specifically pinpoint where you might be experiencing a problem.
Here are the things I would look at that should hopefully improve your rankings:
- What is your domain age?
- What is your domain authority? The higher this score, the better! You can work on improving this score by generating high quality backlinks to your website.
- Are you integrating the keywords into your content well? I can't stress enough how important is it to not overstuff your content!
- Are you creating optimized title tags for all of your webpages?
- Are your website's meta descriptions optimized?
- What is your website speed (on both desktop AND mobile)? You can check this here: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
- Is your website mobile friendly? This is a ranking factor. You can check this here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/
- Is your website secure? While HTTPs is not a ranking factor yet, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a ranking factor later down the road.
These are only a few places to start with optimizing your website - but I hope this helps you improve your rankings!

Hi Tariq,
There are so many possibilities for this. However, can you give me a little info please?
- How old is the site? If it is quite new, then it is common for rankings to fluctuate a lot while Google is figuring out where you should be.
- How have you managed your SEO so far? Have you read any guides? This is always a great place to start.
- Take a look at your content. Where did this come from? Is it written for the site?
- Check your pages and page speeds. I was on a page and it was still trying to load items 15-20 seconds later. However, Google is fairly happy here it seems as Page Speed Insights shows a decent-ish score
- Have you done any keyword research for the site?
- Is there any linkbuilding been undertaken at all?
I could probably go on and on, but see how you get on with those and check your Private Messages for a little more info.

Still seeing a terrible rank drop after last algo update?!
I'm still stumped as to why the ranking has gone so poor on a whitehat site. (see attached image) As you can see we've steadily been improving the ranking over the last 6+ months and then got hit with a massive change this month... I can't physically see any issues and Moz isn't reporting anything negatively that would have such a major effect.. Like not as if the drops were subtle... they've all gone into the 50+ section! Any insights into what may have changed in the latest algo update would be appreciated?! S0sD7d8.png

Competitor ranking well with duplicate content—what are my options?
A competitor is ranking #1 and #3 for a search term (see attached) by publishing two separate sites with the same content. They've modified the title of the page, and serve it in a different design, but are using their branded domain and a keyword-rich domain to gain multiple rankings. This has been going on for years, and I've always told myself that Google would eventually catch it with an algorithm update, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Does anyone know of other options? It doesn't seem like this falls under any of the categories that Google lists on their web spam report page—is there any other way to get bring this up with the powers that be, or is it something that I just have to live with and hope that Google figures out some day? Any advice would help. Thanks! how_to_become_a_home_inspector_-_Google_Search_2015-01-15_18-45-06.jpg

LOCAL SEO / Ranking for the difficult 'service areas' outside of the primary location?
It's generally not too hard to rank in Google Places and organically for your primary location. However if you are a service area business looking to rank for neighboring cities or service areas, Google makes this much tougher. Andrew Shotland mentions the obvious and not so obvious options: Service Area pages ranking organically, getting a real/virtual address, boost geo signals, and using zip codes instead of service area circle. But I am wondering if anyone had success with other methods? Maybe you have used geo-tagging in a creative way? This is a hurdle that many local business are struggling with and any experience or thoughts will be much appreciated

Link Removal and Disavow - Is Page Rank a sign directory is okay with Google
Hi, Currently cleaning up a clients link profile in preparation for disavow file and I have reached the stage where I am undecided on some directories as I don't want to remove all links. Is Page Rank an indication that Google is okay with a particular directory? For example the following domain is questionable, but has a PR of 3. Do I need to consider scrapping all such links in anticipation of future updates? http://www.easyfinddirectory.com/shopping-and-services/clothing http://www.toplocallistings.co.uk/Apparel/West_Midlands/Shropshire/ Thanks in advance Andy

One of my outbound links website go hit by panda!
Hi mozzers, today I received a message from one of my blogger partners announcing me that he got hit by panda. 2 weeks ago I had him placing 2 anchors one in our main domain and a second one on our subdomain. I know panda focuses essentially on dups and I have paid attention to our webmaster tools to make sure we haven t got any messages Which we re good with. What do you guys suggest, will this affect us at some point or we re good? also in case that we re good will panda affect the blogger's authority therefore ours? if yes I should probably remove them, right? Thanks

Yahoo Slurp Bot 3.0 Going Crazy
On one of our sites, since the Summer, Yahoo Slurp bot has been crawling our pages at about 5 times a minute. We have put a crawl delay on it and it does not respect our robots.txt. Now the issue is it's triggering javascript (which bots shouldn't) triggering our adsense, ad server, analytics information, etc. We've thought of banning the bot all together but get a good amount of Yahoo traffic. We've though about programmatic-ly not showing the javascript (ad + analytic) tags but are slightly afraid the Yahoo might consider this cloaking. What are the best practices to deal with this bad bot.
