"Keywords Showing" total doesn't match "Tracked Keywords" total
-
My "Tracked Keywords" total under "Add & Manage Keywords" does not match the total for "Keywords Showing" on the main "Rankings" tab. Why is there a difference? For example, I have 453 tracked keywords attached to my campaign, but under the "Tracked Keywords Overview," there are only 254 listed. I'm sure there's a simple explanation but I can't find it anywhere!
-
Hey Madeline!
Just to clarify, that 453 number represents the amount of keywords you have left to add. You would want to take 750-453 to find out exactly how many keywords have been used already.
Each keyword you add to each campaign will be counted as a separate keyword, and you won't see any added to one campaign show up in another campaign.
-
So what if the keywords I want to add to my campaign are already in my master list of 453? If I add them again under the campaign's "Add & Manage" will there be duplicates?
-
Any keywords you're adding in "Add & Manage" will be added to the Tracked Keywords list for whichever specific campaign you're in when you head to "Add & Manage". After adding keywords in that section, the tally at the top will change but it's just letting you know how many more keywords you have available for use across all of your campaigns:).
-
Thank you, that helps. I did have a follow-up question. How do I ensure the keywords I'm adding are being added to my campaign? I'd like all 453 to be tracked under this particular campaign and can't figure out how to "link" them. It appears as if adding them under "Add & Manage Keywords" only adds them to my total available keywords and not the specific campaign.

Hey there Madeline!
Sam from Moz's Help Team here!
The keywords you see under "Add & Manage Keywords" tallies the keywords across all of your campaigns. So if for example you see something like "453 of 750 keywords available", this means that out of 750 keywords available to you on your subscription level, you've used 297 of them in total across all of your campaigns, and still have 453 left for use - whereas the keyword total under "Tracked Keywords Overview" is isolated to the number of keywords being tracked in the specific campaign you're looking at.
I hope this helps to clarify! If you have any other questions, feel free to post them here or to pop an email over to help@moz.com

Can Moz Keyword Explorer help target keywords for Google Images results?
I'm wondering if I can use Keyword Explorer (or maybe another tool?) to target keywords for image rankings. I'd like to play around with optimizing images so that they appear in search results and thus provide traffic - but wasn't sure the best way to track that kind of progress. My ultimate goal is to analyze the difficulty of ranking for a certain keyword via Google images. (I do know to optimize alt tag/title tag/place in relevant article etc, but wanted to know if I could research the difficulty). Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Utilizing the Moz Location in keywords vs including the location in the actual keyword phrase
I've searched the Moz blog as well as Q&A forums - but I specifically have a question about utilizing the Moz Location in keywords vs including the location in the actual keyword phrase. I've done both and get different rankings. For instance, I have "it company" with the Location set to Corpus Christi, Texas and our rank is #3. Then I also have "it company corpus christi" with the Location set to Corpus Christi, Texas and our rank is #6. Additionally, I threw in "it company corpus christi" with the Location set to National and our rank is #7. What is the best practice and what are the determining factors for the differences? Thank you in advance!

"New" issues not previously found being shown?
I'm not sure what logic Moz is using for its reporting of Site Crawl issues, but it appears to be pretty flawed (unless I'm missing something, which is possible). I've got a client site that has been in Moz for about 6 months now. Every time the crawler runs, the same number of pages are reported as having been crawled. However I'm consistently getting "New Issues" reported that should have been reported during previous crawls. Example: A redirect chain was reported several month ago. The referring URL was the homepage of the website, and we tracked it down to an old link in the header. This was fixed, marked as resolved, and the issue was not shown on the next crawl. Several weeks later, the same issue was reported for a different page on the website - a page which has existed since 2014 and was already crawled many times. Again, we fixed. Fast-forward to the report that just ran on 12/1 and we have the same issue reported, for a different page, which has also existed for years and has been previously crawled. It's very hard to explain to a client "this item you are seeing has been resolved", only to have it continually crop back up in future reports. Note this is not limited to redirect chains - that's just an example. I'm seeing this for other items such as missing canonicals, duplicate titles, etc.

Page Grader states "includes Canonical Tag" but it's not in the page source at all
I've ran it multiple times and changed other things it picked up on so not sure where it's getting the canonical tag is included even though it isn't?

Is it normal for my homepage's page authority to be higher than my domain authority?
Hi everyone, I've just been checking my MOZ authority scores, and the page authority of my home page, www.concerthotels.com is 53 (mozRank of 6.16) which seems pretty good to me. Â However, the domain authority is only showing as 45. Â Is this typical? Â There is such a big difference between these two scores - what does that suggest? Â Is there anything obvious that I can do to bring the domain authority up to the level of authority that the homepage commands? Similarly, the UK version of my site has a homepage authority of 41, but the domain authority is only 30. Â Looking at numerous other websites, quite often the homepage and domain authority scores are very similar, or the domain authority is slightly higher, so it does look as if this is unusual. Any comments would be greatly appreciated, Many thanks Mike
