hi i got a website www.willowstairlifts.co.uk and I am doing seo for keyword Stairlifts , it was going all good i managed to get it from page 15 to page 4 but yesterday its start going backward it jumps back from position 31 to 61 ,
i have been very careful in doing on page and also with my link building. I have just a few directories , bookmarks and I am targeting guest post, and i have got few links from them.
i cant find anything wrong and worried, as surely it can be a penalty,
is it just google dance? as i am aware google is recently doing some updates which they are denying it.
hope you guys can help me ,
many thanks

/my domain is new as compare to the competitor , i hardly did any link building , my focus were to get link from guest post, so far i manage to get few but not to many, few of the links are from yell and few relevant and popular uk directory which the client has setup himself and some bookmarks ,
There are no links so it can be spam. also no errors in crawl could not find anything else suspicious.
the only thing i did was setup author profile with google + so that the image appear, on guest post and our blog post,
could that be an issue, as i see when i see the home page it comes with the author image.

Ok, first off this could very well be Google playing headgames. An article came out a while back that detailed a process Google was using to find people spamming the SERPs. Basically it worked like this: If they suspect you they'll drop you in rank, and see what you do. If you go around disavowing links, and doing reinclusion requests your pretty much indicating your spamming. So as long as your tactics are above board don't do anything crazy. Now, this could very well be part of a large update. Have your competitors shifted? Are there any indicators in the crawl report (i.e. lots of pages not selected, or a recent crawl abnormally large or small)? Let me know, and that should help narrow down the cause.

Rankings Dropped After New Backlinks.
I have a low-traffic website (under 100 unique visitors per day) and I've encountered a strange issue started yesterday morning. I acquired three back-links, one of these back-links is contextual and the other two are site-wide. The site-wide back-links are from PA 40+ blogs. It looks like the back-links are already indexed by Google. Despite these new back-links, my rankings across multiple keywords have dropped several positions. I'm new to SEO, but I would assume new back-links would improve my rankings. None of these back-links are low quality links, they are from real established blogs with high domain and page authority values. Could anyone give me insights into why my rankings may have dropped with new back-links?

Why do the best ranking websites not seem to follow SEO best practice, particularly in terms of link building?
I work for an online retailer, which predominantly sells perfume products. In recent months, we have been spending more and more time on SEO, particularly in terms of improving our content, and as part of our strategy we have been working with beauty bloggers in particular (independent reviews, articles etc) to increase the number of links to our website. Whilst we’ve seen steady improvements, we are concerned that some of the key words/phrases we are targeting still aren’t ranking as high as we would like. Some weeks they will move up a few places, but more often than not, they will then move back down. We are more frustrated as we are seeing other websites, which are much poorer in terms of quality content, number of products, etc., ranking quite highly for these terms. From analysing these sites, it seems they are achieving their high ranking from having a considerable number of what appear to be poor quality links. We have been warned countless times to avoid link farms, etc., yet these sites have 100s even 1000s of links coming from suspect sites and it isn’t doing them any harm. Recently, we noticed a lot of our competitors are receiving links from websites such as LinkPartners. When we checked the website, we could see that whilst it appears to be a fairly SPAMMY website, its domain authority (67) is actually quite high. Should we base our decision about whether or not to place a link somewhere solely on how high their domain authority is, i.e. would it be more beneficial to us to have a link with what appears to be a link farm if their domain authority is high, than what appears to be a fantastic independent beauty blog with a low domain authority? Or should we avoid these sites whatever the circumstances? It’s slightly confusing for us as we are being warned about placing links on websites as google is apparently going to penalise us for it, but then we see our rival sites doing well by simply placing links everywhere they can.

Help with outreach emails for content marketing
Hello, Could I get some feedback on how to make a good outreach email? I'm using buzzstream and Rand's awesome whiteboard friday. Here's what I've put together: Hi [first name] have you seen this [our niche] article? Paragraph 1 (short paragraph) comments on what the person is involved in, and ask them how these things are going Paragraph 2 (short paragraph) talks about how I've shared and retweeted their recent important posts. Paragraph 3 (short paragraph) Asks if they would link to our article. This niche article is really useful and needed to these people. Paragraph 4 (short paragraph) I'm not sure how to reasearch and put something interesting here. [my name] co-owner [our website]

Does Google drop links from page rank N/A sources?
Hi Everyone,
Link Building | | AMA-DataSet
I've started doing some link analysis on one of my site that has over nearly 800 links in total (which I got from the webmaster tools downloading the latest links). When I go on to Google and use the "link:www.mysite.com" directive it will only display 12 links. Does this mean Google is only counting 12 links from the link profile? Iv checked the freshness of some the links it wasn't displaying within Google to check they hadn't all expired. Links from march 2013 still don't appear. This sites link profile has been untouched for at least a year now and is full of directories many of which have a page rank of N/A hence my question. (I'm surprised it hasn't been hit by penguin!) Thanks in advance.0 -
