Wordpress Plugin That Creates Separate OG Tags vs Title Tags?
-
Does anyone know of a Wordpress plugin that allows you to create different tags for Open Graph (and potentially even Twitter) than standard Title and Meta Description Tags?
As far as I can tell, most plugins just force OG and Twitter to use whatever the standard Title Tag and Description Tag are. But we'd like separate fields for each. Standard Page Titles need a bit of extra keyword love, whereas social media titles we'd like a bit more freedom to focus on branding and creativity / CTR.
Tips/feedback appreciated, thank you!

OH MY GOD. It was so hard to find. Thanks for enlightening me.

It is part of the free version as i mentioned above.
The interface is changing a lot, you can find it right after pages / posts. Where you can change Meta Description and Title. At the Moment (newest YOAST Version) there is on the left side a light-gray "Share-Icon" if you click there, you can edit the social tags.

Thanks so much for your responses!
Is this capability part of the free version of Yoast? I can't figure out where or how to enable this at all. This article has instructions, but the interface shown doesn't match what we have.

Yes, like Andreas mentions. The Yoast WordPress SEO Plugin can do exactly this. We've been using it this way at TNW for a while.

Yoast SEO Plugin is doing that since years.
You are able to chose a Twitter/OG-image, a separate title and description - for both twitter and OG.All you need...
For the homepage, pages and posts - for everything. Working in free version...

Google Indexed Images: Website Vs Social Media
I use Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram to post images that are already featured on my website. I have been following a routine of uploading the images to these social media platforms only after I can see Google has indexed the image from my original site. My website is ecommerce and the product images drive sales more than any other factor. The thinking behind my method was that when these images are posted on Pinterest, Twitter and the various Instagram crawler sites (I realise Instagram images aren’t indexed directly), Google would recognise that the image was already attributed to my website. The ‘duplicate’ image would not therefore be indexed and the originally uploaded website image would remain in ‘Google Images’. After completing various searches and reviewing other Q&A’s on Moz, it seems as though this is in no way guaranteed and images reposted on social media platforms may still replace the already indexed image from the website. I am assuming this is because Google views these platforms as more authoritative than mine. I usually change the image by adding logos, text, backgrounds, borders etc before posting on Pinterest and this seems to have worked most of the time (both the original and ‘amended for Pinterest’ versions are often indexed) but images posted on other platforms are usually identical. Does it make sense to continue with my method or am I shooting myself in the foot by reposting these images on social media at all? I obviously want customers searching for products, who then click on an image, to be directed to my site rather than one of my social media pages or worse, an image reposting site. Additionally, If I post images on social media before they are uploaded to my website (for example to tease a product launch), would Google likely class these images as the ‘original’ and therefore be less likely to index the website version of the image once it is uploaded? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Google+ Doesn't Show my Post Title
When I create a new blog post and link to it on Google+, the thumbnail & description are correct, but the HTML title it pulls in is just the company name. I have the proper HTML title tag and OpenGraph tagging on the page too, but lately (last 3 posts) it just shows company name: Here's an example. It used to work on the first handful of posts, but the last 3 or 4, it just show the "Company Name" next to the thumbnail image & above the description. <title>Some blog post title - Company Name</name></p> <p>...</p> <p>...</p> <p><span><meta </span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-name">property</span><span>='</span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-value">og:title</span><span>' </span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-name">content</span><span>='</span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-value">Some blog post title - Company Name</span><span>'/></span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p></title>

Creating Viral Content
Hi, I’m currently building a brand new site in the fitness vertical. The site is brand new, no authority, and backlinks. My goal is to turn it into a high end authority website, with organic traffic, and into a brand. My other goal is it to be purely organic growth, content driven. All my backlinks are natural. I don’t want to plead with other webmasters to link to me, whether it would be for guest posting or other questionable SEO tactics. I understand that creating awesome content so people have a reason to visit and link to, is what I need, and it’s a long-term process. I guess the part, in which I’m seeking advice/suggestions on is how do I go about creating awesome content which people link to and share. I’m thinking of doing something like Movoto and bridging together the sites topic and current trends online. For instance content on comparing North Korea average diet and how it compares to the US. Or who’s the fittest character on Games of Thrones. It’s relevant to the site and is current related to a hot trends. However creating content which is designed to go viral can be quite costly and I don’t have unlimited pockets nor do most people. E.g. creating an awesome info graphic, collecting data, hiring a professional writer, getting professional images, etc. So you don’t really want to screw up. So how can you reduce the risk? How do I go about it from a risk adverse angle? I’m thinking I can find content which has been previously shared (had a pulse), repurpose the content (I remember Rand mentioned this in one of the white board Friday sessions, make it way better, use visuals, apps etc), then base some of my content decisions using this process. I guess other ways – look at places like Reddit, bridging topic with current rends (as mentioned before), find popular forum topics, etc. The goal of the content is: 1) Content which naturally attract high quality links to the site, so it lifts up the other pages which don’t attract many links (through authority). 2) Turn some of that viral traffic into long-term subscribers of the website, and repeat visitors. Increase total search presence naturally Any suggestions or insights into this question would be very much appreciated! Thanks, Matt

Facebook Shares and the rel="canonical" tag
We use canonical tags for multipart videos, using part 1 of the series as their canonical tag. The logic behind this is that if you have eight parts, it's better for part 1 to get all the link juice for the entire series, so that when someone searches for the main keyword, part 1 is the highest ranked part to appear in search results, and the link juice from every part is aggregated into that one page. The problem is the Facebook made changes to their URL sharing practices to reflect the canonical tag. So as long as the tag is used Facebook ignores the image and description from say part 2, and uses the description from part 1. Can this be waived by using Facebook Open Graph Protocol? Thanks!!

Sharethis vs addthis
We currently use Sharethis, but I've noticed many sites using Addthis for sharing. Is there any preference or reason to use one more than the other?

MyBlogGuest+Wordpress+Onlywire = viable semi automatic blogging?
Do you guys recommend I pursue this combination? I want a semi-automatic (spend a few minutes a day picking interesting blog articles) blog and to automate its promotion. Is there anything else I could be doing? Also this combination doesn't seem to post to facebook pages well. I'd like to also add buttons to like/tweet/ etc, right on the blog. What are some best practices for this?
