Can you suggest a good website for a roofing contractor??
-
I have a roofing contractor friend that wants a new site. There's a lot of choices out there, so to save a little time I'm looking for good suggestions.
Ideally one with a good DA, and the ability to make manual edits on the back side.
Thanks in advance:)

Thank you for your help with this!
I've only ever built one site using WordPress though - and that was for me & it didn't need to rank.
It's a small company I'm doing this for, and their keywords aren't too difficult to rank for. But none the less, I want to choose the best option for them.
Is there any coding involved in using these themes? I can code a little but not a lot.
Any more light you can shine on it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help:) I'll explain myself further...
I'm looking for a company that designs websites for General Contractors. I found one http://www.roofwebs.com/ but I was wondering if anyone had any others they could suggest.
About the cms: I want the option to be able to make edits to the site myself.

You can try Moz's Keyword Explorer to dig into the sites that rank for "roofing contractor" or related keywords. I am not sure what you mean by "the ability to make manual edits."Are you trying to buy an existing site and repurpose it?

I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly. Examples of what a good roofing contractor website looks like in terms of design? Or of SEO? Are you looking for a roofing contractor specific CMS?
If you're looking for a good website in terms of SEO, just google for roofing contractors in your local area and do some competitor research. Find which local competitors are ranking the highest and explore as to why that could be, cross referencing with your existing knowledge (or notes) on local SEO ranking factors.
If you're looking for inspiration for design, the process is pretty similar except you can Google more broadly outside of your local area. See what sort of designs suit the type of business, and which ones stand out the most to you. If you have no experience with creating websites and want a cost-effective alternative than getting a web designer in, I would recommend Wordpress as a user-friendly CMS with plenty of free and premium themes to get you going.
Hope that helps.

WEbsite cannot be crawled
I have received the following message from MOZ on a few of our websites now Our crawler was not able to access the robots.txt file on your site. This often occurs because of a server error from the robots.txt. Although this may have been caused by a temporary outage, we recommend making sure your robots.txt file is accessible and that your network and server are working correctly. Typically errors like this should be investigated and fixed by the site webmaster. I have spoken with our webmaster and they have advised the below: The Robots.txt file is definitely there on all pages and Google is able to crawl for these files. Moz however is having some difficulty with finding the files when there is a particular redirect in place. For example, the page currently redirects from threecounties.co.uk/ to https://www.threecounties.co.uk/ and when this happens, the Moz crawler cannot find the robots.txt on the first URL and this generates the reports you have been receiving. From what I understand, this is a flaw with the Moz software and not something that we could fix form our end. _Going forward, something we could do is remove these rewrite rules to www., but these are useful redirects and removing them would likely have SEO implications. _ Has anyone else had this issue and is there anything we can do to rectify, or should we leave as is?

How to utilize Moz during website relaunch?
Hi folks - we're relaunching our website and have been sure to make it SEO optimized -- descriptive copy, new readable URLs, keyword-laden page metadata, and the like. However, I'm new to Moz Pro and unsure how to utilize it during this transition. My questions for those of you -- assuming many -- who have gone through a redesign: **How did you use Moz to track the success of your redesigned website? What do you wish you'd done? ** Any campaigns or resources you can suggest will be helpful, as I am new to the functionality!

A competitor's SEO firm is building spammy links to my website.
A competitor's SEO firm is building spammy links to my website. I know the disavow link process, but even this can be time consuming. Is there a better way to protect my website? Any and all ideas appreciated.... Are there any cool Moz tools that can help me manage this assault? Sorry, just a follow up from me... It appears that many of the spammy links (referrals) I see in Google Analytics are not present in Google WebMaster Tools. Does this mean that the spammy ones that I'm concerned about have already been discounted by Google, or are the spammy links no-follow? Any input on this would also be appreciated.

In my crawl diagnostics, there are links to duplicate content. How can I track down where these links originated in?
How can I find out how SEOMOz found these links to begin with? That would help fix the issue. Where's the source page where the link was first encountered listed at?

Can someone explain to me why OSE shows two different numbers for Linking Root Domains in the header and in the results area?
See Photo Below. 271 in the header, 500 plus in the results section. I just want an accurate number to chart my progress from here on out. Majestic numbers seem inflated too much. Google Webmaster Tools too. g58HX.png
