Google AMP or CDN?
-
Hello. I'm running a CMS that cannot currently support both CDN and Google AMP. I would have to choose one or the other.
Does anyone have any insight on which may be the better choice until I can figure out how to have both? I installed CDN first to reduce the time it took for my pages/images to load.
I'd like to have AMP because it can do the same, and perhaps be a little more Google friendly (their product).
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks!

Hi Donald,
I'm using Drupal 7.
I publish a lot of events for my geo-domain but I'm not really publishing "news" per se.
I think I'll keep using CDN until I can somehow get AMP working with it and Drupal 7. At times, I really wish I had gone down the WordPress path.
Thanks for posting your experience. I'm grateful.

What CMS are you using?
Amp seems to only be big impact for news publishing and current events at the moment. Are you publishing articles that are news worthy or current even based? Clients of mine that I have instituted amp are not getting serious SEO bumps to their rankings due to having AMP enabled. These are WordPress sites and they are running both AMP and CDN. Depending on your needs I would suggest using the CDN for site speed over amp if you are not publishing news worthy or current events type posts.
This is just my personal experience.

Hello, I would like some advice on Google ranking, my site sportingdesires had a few keywords rank and now their not ranked for those keywords. Am still in the process of on-page and am not too bothered about them ranking high, more of a curiosity I suppose. am not expecting them to reach any where near top due to tough competition. Am just starting from top of website down to individual products ( this will take about 10 years lol ) sorting out seo issues. then will concentrate on link building & content engagement maybe i over optimised the page take a look at AC Milan club shop for example Kindest Regards, ste

Is it bad to include google Maps in footer?
We have 5 locations and we were thinking about including a map for each location in the footer. These would be set-up as no-follow links. They could potentially enhance user experience but it also increases size of footer. Right now there are just basic links to pages (sitemap, terms, etc), contact info, social links, and contact form. If we did the maps it would also include link to the individual location pages. Not sure if we are doing too much in footer or need to just keep it basic. Thanks for the help!

Google Authorship for SEO Content Writers
I am interested to know the best way to go about about Google authorship on blog articles written for a client. For example is it a bad idea for an SEO content writer to publish articles under their own identity, what are the potential footprint downsides to this?

Will Google handle "this not that" pages differently?
If you create pages about "try keyword1 not keyword2" will there be any barriers to getting the pages ranked for keyword2? Example: You have furnished rental units in a small town, and you offer nightly/weekly rentals. You want to rank for "town hotel" since you offer the same service as a hotel. Since you're not really a hotel, you create a page called "Better than a hotel: Town nightly rental units". Anyone know if Google has an algorithm to detect this (they would have to detect the meaning of the words you were using and know that you were promoting something other than a hotel) and determine you're not really relevant to "town hotel" and not rank you well? I think they probably do not, as I've seen things like Google Adsense Alternatives articles ranking well for the term Google Adsense, or Boycott Godaddy sites ranking well for the term godaddy. But I would like to hear any evidence or facts others know of.

Discrepancy between SeoMoz vs Google Webmaster tools
SeoMoz reports over 70 4xx client server errors on my site, but Google Web Master Tools does not report any broken links. There are not any broken links on any of the pages that it is reporting. Could there be another reason for the 4xx errors besides broken links?

Strange Keywords Google Webmaster Tools
Hey, I have a website about "coffee machines". Since a few months I added a vBulletin forum with vbSEO installed. The keywords Google found before I added the forum where highly related to the topic of my website (e.g. "coffee", "machine" etc), which I checked through the webmaster tools. However, I recently checked again and noticed that Google finds mostly keywords like "post", "forum", "thread", "share" etc. with high significance. Those "keywords" only appear on the forum. Now I'm a bit worried since Google states "These should reflect the subject matter of your site." Any advice how to solve that issue? Thanks!
