How long does it take to turn around a 10/17 SPAM score domain?
-
Hi - Looking at acquiring a domain name that has a great product fit. The problem is it is currently getting a 10/17 Open Site Explorer SPAM score.
The existing site for the domain is running Google sponsored link ads and is full of internal pages that link off to these ads.
That explains the existing SPAM score.
If I acquire the domain I'll throw out the Google ad pages and build instead a site with real valuable content that behaves like a normal site and look at building backlinks etc.
My question is, following this approach, how long is it likely to take Google to not see the domain as some Spam factory so it starts getting well positioned SERPs?

Hi Lisa
I read those before posting.
I guess my question was more around once you take proactive measures so the site is less spammy, how long does it generally take Google to stop looking at it so negatively.
Interested in both MOZ's views on this and the community here based on their experience.

Hi there! Sorry for any confusion you're experiencing.
Spam Score is just our internal measurement of possible traits that correlate with Google penalization. Since this is just based on correlation with penalization, rather than causation, the solution isn't necessarily to change these factors on your site.
I would recommend checking out some of these resources about Spam Score:
Spam Score: Moz's New Metric to Measure Penalization Risk

I hope that helps!

How do I find http backlinks to my domain?
Hi, We spotted a number of sites linking to us from http sites, not https sites. How can I use backlink tools to find just those from http sites? Right now I'm looking at exporting a spreadsheet with 3.3 million entries and filtering - and there's not one person here who wants to do that! Thanks in advance. How much time does it take for OSE to recognize backlinks?
Hi, We've ramped up our PR since 2-3 weeks and have been mentioned in a lot of publications including a big name like Forbes. But the OSE moz tool still shows zero backlinks to our domain.

Moz Spam Score 9/17 when there are no links
Hi I was just looking at a competitors new site in OSE and it had a DA and PA of 1 which I would expect and also no links, which again I would expect, basically the guy used to design stuff for me and thinks he can do a better job so he is giving it ago. But he has a spam score of 9/17 but no links - how is this even possible. Thanks Andy

Why such bad scores?
Hi all, I'm a bit frustrated because in open site explorer, my site is appearing with the worst possible scores for everything. (see attch.) However, about 2 months ago I published my site onto a bunch of places using the Yext service. I also manually created 50+ additional links and citations as well as accounts on all the major social media sites. So, how come I get such bad scores and even a big fat zero on inbound links? Thanks! bYCpm

Moz Spam Score
Hi! The spam score for my sites is "--" with no graph. The sites are large ecommerce sites with a ton of branded search and DAs of 50+. Simple question - are these clean spam scores, or has Moz not calculated the scores yet?

Is there a easy way to take all links from O.S.E and add them to My Google WMT.CSV file?
Good morning everyone. I have recently discovered that someone has targeted me with a negative SEO campaign and I have been inundated with 13,000 anchor text links from spam sites pointing to my domain. I have run Open Site Explorer and gotten all of my backlinks on my desktop but what I need to do is add them to the back links .csv file from Google Webmaster Tools so that I can upload the file to my CognitiveSEO campaign. What I would like to know is, does anyone know how to transfer all backlinks from the open site explorer.csv file over to the webmaster tools .csv file in a bulk action without having to copy each link individually? I don't really have any working knowledge of excell in this capacity for SEO so, If anyone could explain how this would be done I would be eternally grateful because adding one link at a time is very painful and very time consuming. Thank you. Cam

Does the inbound links report include links to all pages of the domain being researched?
If I enter 'abc.com' am I only getting results for 'abc.com' or will I get results for the internal pages of 'abc.com' as well (i.e. 'abc.com/page1.html)? There is a bit of a discrepancy between these results and inbound link results in semrush for example. Then again it seems whenever you use different tools to measure the same thing you get wildly varying results. How do you all deal with that?
