Internal anchor text
-
Hello,
I am wondering how to deal with internal anchor text.
I read here and there that it shouldn't be too optimised but I also read that this is how google understands what my page is aout.
I have breadcrumbs with my main keyword in the anchor text and can't change that it is automatic.
In other words if i have 10 breadcrumb going to my top page with the keyword can I be penalised ?

Sorry for the late answer but it really depends.
If your site is about bikes and host news about tour de France and the giro and so on then you may not need to add bike tour for Bordeaux because you're already talking about France bike tour. But you're a traveling company you may have a page about France and Bordeaux respectively, so it may be needed to include those keywords just because the breadcrumb has to be unique, otherwise it may be confusing.
So in most cases I would say that one instance of your money keywords should be fine, usually at the higher levels. Ex:
bike tours - France - bordeaux
home - bike tours France - bordeauxI suppose that everything below a bike tours France will be bike tour related.
but as I told you before there may be exceptions.
I hope I haven't confused you!

Does it mean that the breadcrumb
Home > France > Bordeaux bike tour
is better than
Home > Bike tours in France > Bordeaux bike tour

Interested this lsigraph, didn't know about it but a great tool to find internal linking ideas and avoid over optimisation.
Thank you,
-
There are places where variation is not only allowed but also recommended, ex. external backlinks, internal links from other pages, etc. You may want to use call to actions or LSI keywords. You can use this tool to find interesting LSI terms:Â https://lsigraph.com/
about the breadcrumb I would keep it always the same. Breadcrumbs purpose is not for optimizing anchors but to give users a navigational support so if I were you I would always keep them descriptive but never over optimized.

Got it for the breadcrumbs and for the links in the contact can I also write "red leather boots" 10 times out of 10 links or is it better to have 8 that say "red leather boots" and the other 2 that says "check those leather boots" and "cool boots".
Thank you,
-
You have to be natural. That is the key. If the page you're linking is about "red leather boots" then the anchor should reflect that. What you have avoid is forcing things.
Example of a good breadcrumb
Home > Shoes > Red Leather BootsNow an over optimized one
Home > Boots > Red > Red Leather BootsYou are repeating words that do not add any value, same things happens with URLs many people repeat their product in the folder then in the URI of the page.
My recommendation would be to keep it optimized but without forcing anything. If you are in doubt if Google will like it or not, think about your users. Will they like this link showing that text or will it be too redundant? there you got the answer

How can I identify links that point to a specific landing page with a specific anchor text on my own website?
I am trying to identify buttons and links that point to a specific landing page on our website that have a certain word in the anchor text and I would like to know the referring page URL too. Does anybody have an idea on how to do this? We have above a hundred landing pages and I would rather not go through them one by one đ Thanks for the help

Huge problem : All our Internal Links Dropped from 9.000 to 0.What happened?
Hi, I just noticed a huge large problem in our rankings. Our rankings suddenly dropped for more than 50 %. Of course, I immediately started to research the issue. And under Links, I found that we somehow lost all of our internal links! They have dropped from 9k to 0. Now, I am sure that we do have some internal links on our site ( since I put them there myself). Could you please tell me what is going on and how I can fix this issue? Our site is 1solarsolution.com and I will also attach screenshots bellow from Link Explorer, thank you. Fr08UGe

Different text position on mobile and desktop page
Hi there, We have product category descriptions in our webshop, with one smal difference: desktop: the first paragraf is at the top above the products with a scroll down to the other paragrafs below the products mobile: the whole text is below the products I am wondering whether it is allright in regards of the mobile first index, or should we have exactly the same paragraf split on the desktop and mobile version? Eg. dadum.pl/zabawki Thanks in advance for your opinions. Isabelle

Page must be internally linked to get indexed?
If a there is page like website.com/page; I think this page will be indexed by Google even we don't link it internally from anywhere. Is this true? Will it makes any difference in-terms of "indexability" if we list this page on sitemap? I know page's visibility will increase when link from multiple internal pages. I wonder will there be any noticeable  difference while this page is listed in sitemap.

Problem with internal links
Hello! Our domain, http://www.unionroom.com/, is having a strange issue with OSE in that it is telling us our internal pages aren't linking to one another. An example of this is that it is showing our About page ( http://www.unionroom.com/about/ ) only having three links, but this link appears twice on every single page on the website (~200 pages) in the header and footer. We've hung around for a little while to see if OSE would correct itself, but it hasn't and this now suggests that it may be an issue with our in-linking structure. Can anyone spot any issues with our build? The rest of the websites that we produce, that are all built in the same way, all have healthy internal linking structures according to OSE. Very confusing! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

New domain or wait - Anchor Text Penalty
Hi We are confident we have an anchor text penalty and have removed nearly all offending links about 3 months ago, and since have only engaged on 100% natural linking with good content and simply asking people to share our site. However we have made no progress all in terms on position for our main keyword - we now thinking of starting a fresh on a new domain as Google doesn't seem to be able to forgive us... Any ideas please?

Use of the Canonical Tag, Both Internally and Cross Domain
I've seen the cross domain canonical not work at all in my test cases. And an interesting point was brought to my attention today. That point was that in order for the canonical tag to work, the page that you are referencing needs to have the exact same content. And that this was the whole point of the canonical tag, not for it to be used as a 301 but for it to consolidate pages with the same content. I want to know if this is true. Does the page you reference with a canonical tag have to have the same exact content? And what have been your experiences with using the canonical tag referencing another page on a different domain that has the same exact subject matter but not the exact duplicate content?
