Are Special Characters and Phone no. in Title Tag bad for Rankings? thank u
-
Hello.
In my two sites painterdublin.com and tilers-dublin.com I am using a special characters in my title and meta description tags. My sites got penalized on 28.9.2012 and apart from other problems I got advice here on seomoz to remove those characters from tags.
Is it really harmful?Title1: • Painter and Decorator in Dublin needed? Painting Contractor?
Description1: • Top quality Painting Contractor, Painter and Decorator based in Lucan, Dublin. online quotation systempictures of work
customer testimonials
painting tips
Title2: • Tilers Dublin • Tiling Contractors Dublin • 0851390232
Description2: • Top rated Tilers Dublin • Peter & Gavin Tiling Contractors Dublin • Customer reviewsprice calculator
project pictures
tiling tips
Of course I am using those symbols and phone number to stand out and be more visible in the search results, but if it is bad for seo, its probably not worth it. what do you think?
thank you
Jaro

For sure special characters are not a good idea in title tags.
I do not see a point in including telephone numbers in title tags you can keep it in body or blocks and it will still be picked up by search engine spiders.

Seem to have dropped completely out of the rankings
Hello there, I have a site that seems to have totally dropped out of the rankings i.e. it is now not even ranking for the name, at which it has been number 2 forever! In Moz Pro it is at 0% visibility and no keywords being ranked. No big changes in terms of the site, the pages appear to be being indexed and as far as I'm aware no dodgy backlinks. The only change lately is that we have linked it to Google Console, added 2 content pages and done a Google Adwords campaign. These pages have been used as the landing pages for this campaign - could that have had this effect? Could this be a RAG (Random Act of Google) or something else??? The site is homefarmlogs.co.uk. The is also a homefarmlogs.com - could this be causing a problem??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Best wishes, Sarah.

Google Rankings Are Dancing What To Do?
I was been ranking on page no.3 for many of my keywords. Suddenly they all dropped to Page No.9& Page no.10. Now 10 days back one of my keyword got back to page no.4 & now suddenly today it went back to page no.9 again. I haven't done any changes to the site. My page speed is less than 4secs. Checked everything & all seems fine. No errors or manual actions notification in Webmaster too. Should i wait for the rankings dance to get over or should i start doing something. Currently i am planning to get fresh pages with good content added to the website for the whole month of July. Suggest me what to do?

Should I nofollow my Wordpress tags?
I have a website that have a strong root domain (ranking on many terms) but the subpages (articles) doesn't rank well. My feeling is that the linkjuice is not flowing to them (not enough anyway). When I run site:http://mydomain.com I have my root as the first result and the next many results are tagpages on my sites. I have arund 180 index pages, and I need to go to down to result #50 give or take before I see any subpage using the site command. My website theme have the tags on every page possible. The tags are useful for my viewers, but not SEO useful, but I fear that they are dilluting my linkjuice. Should I nofollow and noindex them? Noindex makes sense (the tags are just duplicate content featuring snippets of text from the articles). But Nofollow would make sense too since I wouldn't send any linkjuice through the tags. What would you guys do? Bests regards

HTML > Tag
We are currently adding reviews to a clients site from The Review Centre. We are trying to use semantic markup more, so would like to know the best way to do this. Example: <blockquote cite="http://www.example.co.uk">

How do I change HTML title, and add H1 tags with Volusion? and why is it so hard!?!?! wordpress is WAYY better.
So I could go in depth with this and tell you all about the problems I have encountered with Volusion... but i'm not. I just need to help a client change the 7,000 product pages they have that have duplicated title tags, and no H1 tags. (probably one of the worst case of On-Page SEO set ups ever right? Shouldn't Volusion be built to help you do these types of essentials easily? Or (for the price) even better would be to do it automatically based on the product name??)

Ranking
Hi All, I have been working on a car insurance site which targets US market. we have been doing all types of links to the site like - good related directory links, related blogpost and reviews. the site is updated daily with a fresh unique content. what more is needed to get it to the first page. we are currently ranking in the range of 40 - 50 on the page 4 or page 5. we have also recently done a redesign with a new cms, done a good press release but not seeing much of changes. please if anyone in the same industry or with some experience can suggest us. we are using all white hat seo & I can understand the amount of competition in this niche. Thanks
