Why isn't the Moz crawler getting all of my item pages?
-
I am stumped and Moz is being terrible to work with.
This site has about 40k pages
39,800 of them are item pages roughly.
Moz is only finding about 2400 of my pages. So they are missing most but not all of my item pages.
I do not know which item pages they are missing.
The fact that they are finding about 2k but not the rest leads me to believe the crawler is struggling with pagination.
The site is built on Magento 2 and uses the Amasty Layered Navigation extension.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Meghan from Moz pointed out I had Disallow: /*? in the robots.txt and that appears to have been the problem. It is the default Magento 2 setting, so not sure why they had that in there.

Hi Tyler, are you setting your pagination pages as nofollow? That might be causing the issue. Any chance you can post the URL and we can try crawling the site to see if we hit any issues with a crawlers like screaming frog?

The Page Optimization tool keeps asking for several changes that are already in place! How can I get it to recognize them?
Hi there...the Page Optimization tool shows a 71 score for one of my pages, but the most critical needs it noted have already been in there for some time. What's the deal with this? Thanks...

External links that don't exist
I did a crawl test and it shows that there are 2215 external links on my home page here: https://www.playshakespeare.com An "External Link" is defined here: https://moz.com/researchtools/crawl-test "Number of links on a page that point to a page that is not on the same domain as that page." There are NOT 2215 external links on that page. There are only a handful at any given time. Why is the crawl test reporting thousands over that?

Crawl Diagnostics: How many pages (deep) will it crawl for dup content
Does anyone know how deep the crawl diagnostics will crawl when searching for dup content? Will it crawl the entire site, or will it only crawl "x" amount of pages? Thanks!

Domain.com isn't recognized by on-page-grader, but domain.com/index.php is
I am running a website through On-page-grader, as www.domain.com and scores an "F" for a specific keyword. When it's ran as www.domain.com/index.php, it scores an "A" for that same keyword and has everything checked other than "keyword in the domain name". There are no other files such as index.htm, or index.html that would interfere and can't figure out why this page is not being recognized. I checked, the robots and .htaccess file, but do not see anything that would hinder. Could this be a server issue?

MOZ Onpage grade and Google ranking.
I have found for years that there is not necessarily any connection between the onpage given by Moz and the SEO ranking. "F" page can be #1 in Google for long periods of time, and "A" pages can be unranked. I do not see the consistency, so I am unsure how much time to spend optimizing as suggested. I know there are many factors in rankings, but I just wanted to point out that this lack of consistency makes me hesitate to make changes to well-ranking pages -- especially with algorithm changes happening all the time. It seems that everything is considered over-optimization of late, even if it is all natural language. It is hard to NOT use words or synonyms sometimes on pages, for example... Thank you for your great product. I just want to know how my time to spend on this matter or turn my attention to off-page factors where the inconsistency is hard to figure out.

Moz Rank Tracker - showing deleted subdomains results for entered keywords
We have recently deleted subdomains because they were causing duplicate page errors but now the Moz rank tracker is showing the subdomain key word results even instead of the exact url we entered. So for example wine cellar is showing up for a deleted subdomain (winecellar.vigilantinc.com) instead of the entered exact url of (vigilantinc.com/winecellars/) Please advise. Thanks!
