Should I keep, or disavow PA 1 DA 0 backlink?
-
Hi,
I am doing link cleaning, and still a bit new to this, and would appreciate the community's help
So, I have a site which has quite a lot of low DA (or no DA) follow backlinks. BUT,
- the links are from my niche
- the sites are not spammy
- the anchors are okay
- and they are from good Geo location for me
The only negative thing is that these sites are a bit "dead" meaning that there is no new content, and thus there is no traffic or clicks coming from them.
Should I keep those links or disavow them?
To me these links are natural, but do they help me at all....
FYI I have plenty of good DA links. But what do you guys think, if I disavow all these low DA backlinks, does Google think that I am trying to manipulate my backlink structure to look better than it naturally is?
Cheers guys and girls!

Thanks Gaston! Good to keep this in mind.

I don't think that Moz doesn't care about when the content was published.
Keep in mind that Moz and Ahref mostly weight and analyze their backlink profile, thus it's possible that they haven't discovered any backlinks and their metrics can be low.Hope it helps.
Best luck.

Thanks Gaston for your response!
It sure helps in decision making.I guess I'll just filter and disavow really spammy backlinks with viagra and other medicine anchor texts.
Yeah, I have also noticed big differences with different tools. Quite often for example Ahrefs gives 0 DR and 0 UR, and Moz gives 25 DA and 12 PA on the same domain / url. This has been the case quite often with some old blogs with no updates in couple years. Maybe Moz doesn't care when was the latest content added to the site. Or maybe Ahrefs gives much less value to sites which don't get new content, and puts the score down much more.

Hi Risto,
Google said it many times that they are pretty good at detecting bad links thus they encourage us to disavow links only when a manual penalty has hit your site or when you dont trust Google's algorithms and/or do know that those links are really hurting you.
That said, my personal opinion, don't bother at all.
Also, please keep in mind that private metrics as PA, DA, TF, CF or whatever do not reflect what google sees. Those companies with their algorithms try to simulate what Google understands so don't fully rely on them.Hope this helps.
Best luck.

Primary Navigation: Keep All Links Or Keep Top Level
Our eCommerce site www.towelsrus.co.uk employees a primary navigation system which we can enable to as many categories or not as we link. If all categories are enabled it adds roughly another 50 to 60 followed links per page giving all pages roughly 150 followed links (Google suggests no more than 100 per page). If I enable just top level navigation then this reduces them all considerably. Personally from the customer experience I think its better for them all to be visible, however from an SEO perspective and link juice perhaps not. Thought and opinions much appreciated here. Thanks Craig

Building Backlinks to Backlinks?
Should I be building back links to my Back links, I have a fairly decent amount of guest post on decent to standard blogs and just wondered if I should be building a few medium quality back links to these. I can understand that I should just build all links to my website but there are a lot of opportunities on cheaper blogs such as little better than article submission sites which I would not really want my main site on would this help?

.Edu Backlink wrapped in Wiki
An SEO expert offers my site backlinks from .edu's wrapped in wiki. Structure as follows "wiki.xxx.UNINAME.edu/etcetc" - the pages have authority of 1 (domain obviously high with the dot edu) but there is no relevant info on the pages and obviously wiki links are no follow. This does not sound right to me, but can anyone share some insight since it is wiki + edu combined it sounds on surface like credibility, but with page having no relevant content I feel it isn't right. thank you

Should I bother disavowing nofollow backlinks?
Hello! I am about to go through the list of backlinks in our profile and sort out what we want to disavow. A question I had is, should I both disavowing nofollow backlinks, even if they look spammy? Or should I just focus on cleaning up the dofollow's? Thanks!

Annzoseo - Keeps Calling, funny SEO Phone Conversation!
This company annzoseo keeps calling to get me to jump on to their SEO package that would guarantee me top rankings on the keywords I currently bid on with Google Adwords.. I really love these kind of calls because it is so much fun to probe and see how they do things.. I did a basic crawl for the site and sure enough they are ranking for specific keywords they mentioned in their phone call. However if you do a deeper search you will find tons of directory links that are like an never ending loop of links from forums and web site testing tools where it places a URL. The call was dropped after I spoke to a tech and asked more questions about the process of getting links, etc. When I reviewed some of their customer testimonials from a normal perspective things look great however when you dig a bit deeper you see the problem for the customers. Example: /case/first-rate-plumbing-.html I took to first company listed .. The keyword they brag about is "emergency plumbing services in colorado springs" however they are not found on the first page anymore yet they claim it on their site at the same notion. The site firstrateplumbing-heating dot com does not even show up now after the recent updates from Google from what I can imagine based on the low quality and number of outbound links. Their sales team is contacting anyone who is advertising in the Google Adwords Program claiming that you are only getting 20% of all the traffic on the web.. However before they make these comments they should at least look at the website they are calling to see other things that company is already doing well with. I was blown away from this call, so I dug deeper and found these types of links for their company. Not only when you search for this company it has poor results however going to the second page I found a great link from Complaints, Reviews - Fraud SEO company it has a few companies complaining about the service... I am shocked, as an SEO myself to see companies out on the web taking companies hard earned cash and giving them noting in return but a possibility they may be flagged one day for spammy techniques that don't work anymore. Ok Ok, I feel like I am writing a novel here but I just wanted to get the word out about these types of slick oil SEO firms that pollute the industry and make the rest of us all look bad. Oh and I forgot they push they are certified by seocertification.org thats cool because All I have to do is pay some money and I am in... NICE I can keep going on with this site as a perfect example and examine more however, I would be curious on what the Group could dig up on this company.. IT would be a FUN little Project to help protect and educate other company owners not to get their company in a pickle with people like this...Sorry If I pissed anyone off.
