Our protected pages 302 redirect to a login page if not a member. Is that a problem for SEO?

We have a membership site that has links out in our unprotected pages. If a non-member clicks on these links it sends a 302 redirect to the login / join page.

Is this an issue for SEO?

Ideally these pages would be set to nofollow/noindex, so the 302 redirect is merely a way to avoid a user ending up with a 404 error page. I see no problem with this and can's imagine how it would negatively affect SEO in any way.

Hi, My website has a few SaaS products, to make my website simple i want to move my website some pages to its specific folder structure , so eg website.com/product1/features
website.com/product1/pricing
website.com/product1/information and same for product2 and so on, the website.com/product1/.. menu will only show the links of product1 and only one link to homepage (possibly in footer). Please share your opinion will it be a good idea, from UI perspective it will be simple , but i am not sure about SEO perspective, please help thanks

302 from landingspage to language page

Hi Everyone, A client of us has a Belgian website in 2 different languages, in French and in Dutch.
We make use of hreflang tags, so each user gets to see the website in their preferred language. The landingspage on the website however, let's say www.example.be, has a 302 redirect to the French version of the website (www.example.be/fr/). And Dutch users get to see the Dutch version (www.example.be/nl/) of the website when they browse to www.example.be . Now, I want to get rid of the 302 redirect. Should I replace it to a 301 redirect, without sending every user automatically to one of the 2 versions? Should I just remove the redirect? Or should I just leave it this way? I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Jens

How to redirect 302 status to 301 status code using wordpress

I just ran the link opportunity option within site explorer and it shows that 31 pages are currently in a 302 status. Should I try to convert the 302's to 301's? And what is the easiest way to do this? I see several wordpress plugins that claim to do 301 redirects but I don't know which to choose. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why are my 301 redirects and duplicate pages (with canonicals) still showing up as duplicates in Webmaster Tools?

My guess is that in time Google will realize that my duplicate content is not actually duplicate content, but in the meantime I'd like to get your guys feedback. The reporting in Webmaster Tools looks something like this. Duplicates /url1.html /url2.html /url3.html /category/product/url.html /category2/product/url.html url3.html is the true canonical page in the list above._ url1.html,_ and url2.html are old URLs that 301 to url3.html. So, it seems my bases are covered there. _/category/product/url.html _and _/category2/product/url.html _ do not redirect. They are the same page as url3.html. Each of the category URLs has a canonical URL of url3.html in the header. So, it seems my bases are covered there as well. Can I expect Google to pick up on this? Why wouldn't it understand this already?

Scraping a Password Protected Page

Hey Everyone, I'm looking for some help regarding my website. I have multiple pages on my site that are password protected (we only give the password to potential clients).... Somehow, when doing a google search, i found a directory that has successfully scraped and pulled all of the information from the password protected pages and is displaying this info on their site... This is very bad for us as obviously this information is critical and not intended to be shared with the rest of the world Does anyone have any advice on how to prevent my password protected pages from being scraped/crawled? How to know what pages are 301 redirecting to me?

Hi! It is easy to know if somebody is spam linking your website, looking i.e., looking at open site explorer to analyse the links profile. But, is it possible to know if a competitor of mine is redirecting a bad domain to main with a 301 redirect, thus transfering any bad SEO reputation to me? Best Regards, Daniel
