COVID-19 Impacts on Traffic?
-
How many people here have witnessed some decline in traffic due to pandemic..? It's a thought that since people all around the world are in home and the usage of internet has increased a great deal the traffic on sites should also increase but that is not the case with me on different websites in past 3 weeks...
How many people have witnessed the traffic difference ever since the pandemic started or from start of the month of March..? Share your thoughts.

I suppose, the traffic is now getting back, somehow. It was, earlier the crude impacts of Corona and recent google update. Since, the situations are going to be normal albeit slowly. However, till the time we get finally settled, we may not expect loads of traffic on some niches like sports, education, outdoor recreation etc.

We are working on the محصولات اوریفلیم
website and the Corona virus has no effect on our traffic and we are still at the forefront.

Indeed, I am facing big drop in traffic due to covid-19.

Hi
It didn't matter to me. We are working on several sites
For example: فن سئو
Its traffic has not decreased. We also had a higher ranking in Google and came a few steps higher -
And spamming lives on.

I work mostly on sports-related websites and have seen a massive decline in traffic. Esports is on the up.
-
For me...
- Academic traffic is down because schools are closed... but, I can see many visits coming in from course management systems.
-
Retail traffic is good. People are still buying online, but if they don't have work for a while, I expect sales to slump.
-
Some article pages are getting crazy traffic. Others are getting less than normal traffic. It depends upon the topic.

GA traffic locations must be wrong? Most hits from a state we don't do business in!
I launched a website earlier this year. Very limited traffic, 200-300 a month. It is an info site for a specialized business. However, when I review my GA traffic reports, 20% of our traffic comes from one city in Virginia. (although the company does business in many states, it does not in Virginia) or anything close. The bounce rate is 97%! Could it be a web scraper or some kind of redirect?

Diganosing Traffic Drop
With Spring Break and seasonality in play right now I'm curious about techniques for separating/diagnosing temporary drops in interest due to user behavior in a category from other things like drop in ranking or similar. How quickly can you tell these apart? Analytics will be delayed a few days for instance, other tools take time to update. What should we be looking for and when to say "ok, this too shall pass" as opposed to "did we make a bad site update" or something similar. Any tips?

International Traffic on Analytics - Is this normal?
Hi All, One of our clients has asked why they are getting so much traffic from international countries when they solely operate in the UK. See attached image for % of customers who are visiting our site from different countries. Is this a normal ratio of traffic when we are only targeting UK customers? Thanks o6j2PEc

Tool Recommendations for Traffic Estimations
Hi Mozzers, Would appreciate your input on a tool (free or paid) that provides accurate information on the volume of traffic (paid and organic) that a site is getting every month. It would be nice if the tool can also provide data on the pages with most traffic (and number) page wise for a website? Cheers, SEO5..

Real-time monitoring of web traffic
I used Woopra for the past year to monitor real time traffic to my websites but they recently dropped support for the desktop app and replaced it with a web app. As best I can tell the web app does not have the real-time alerts and other features that made the desktop app very compelling for me. Perhaps I don't fully understand how to use the new web app, but I don't find it particularly useful. Are there any other tools that provide good real-time monitoring of websites. Best,

All pages were returning 404 for an hour. Will it impact the SERPS?
Hi, Due to a bug in my website system, all the pages were returning an 404 default page for a period of 1 hour. Can this event impact the SERPs of this site? (the site is heavily visited, more than 500k users coming from google every day, so I assume google crawls my pages every moment)

What is Responsible for All My "Direct" Traffic?
We have a broad content site - the majority of our traffic overall comes in via deep links.Google analytics consistently shows 17-20% of daily traffic under the "direct" bucket, with the rest of the traffic about equally split between Referring sites and Organic search. However, if we look at the specific content in the "direct" bucket, the URLs that are being hit do tend to mirror rather closely the Search traffic. The close mapping to our Search traffic doesn't seem to make much sense - while some of it is probably bookmarks, it seems doubtful that that could be responsible for more than, say, 20% of this direct traffici based on the # of pages and types of pages (many of the pages that do well in search are honestly not ones that someone would be likely to bookmark). The traffic reported by google as "direct" for a given day tracks a lot closer to Search than Referral URLs (which tend to be he more viral content on our site). Any idea what could be causing this traffic to show as Direct? Do people tend to bookmark pages while doing searches to come back to them or something? THANKS everyone for the responses. Still not quite sure what it is, continuing to look into it, particularly technical issues that the link to the Avinash post might prove very helpful for
