Home page optimisation

It's not possible to add a keyword to the homepage url. Do we still add a secondary keyword along the primary one on the home page title and meta description etc. How do we make our primary keyword to dominate in this case.
Thanks

How should I treat these Destination Wedding Pages?
Happy Friday and St. Patrick's Day Eve, Moz Community! As I got on here to ask this question, I saw my previous questions and remembered how awesome this community is. I also can't wait until Mozcon, but I digress. Anyway. We are a travel agency. One of my websites is to support the Destination Wedding part of our business. Each of the weddings gets their own page where we list information about the event as well as a guest list of who all has booked to attend the wedding. After the wedding, the page is automatically unpublished. This leads to a TON of 404s on all of the past wedding pages. Also, even the current pages I don't feel add a lot of SEO value to the site. So. What is the wisdom on how I should handle these pages. I'm assuming I should no index them? Also, does anyone have a compelling reason I should keep the pages active for some reason? Just move them to a different section or something? (I'm really thinking not on this...but I'm open to discussion.) Thank you times one million in advance.

Home page and category page target same keyword
Hi there, Several of our websites have a common problem - our main target keyword for the homepage is also the name of a product category we have within the website. There are seemingly two solutions to this problem, both of which not ideal: Do not target the keyword with the homepage. However, the homepage has the most authority and is our best shot at getting ranked for the main keyword. Reword and "de-optimise" the category page, so it doesn't target the keyword. This doesn't work well from UX point of view as the category needs to describe what it is and enable visitors to navigate to it. Anybody else gone through a similar conundrum? How did you end up going about it? Thanks Julian

Help with the indexation of my page
Hi all, I have a problem with my website. When writing site:www.pinesapiensa.com there're no pages indexed although the webmaster tools tells me that the sitemap file has been processed in 13 May and the number of indexed paged are 21. ¿What could be happening? I have to mention that there are two domains "www.piensapiensa.es" and "www.piensapiensa.com" addressing the same website and there's a redirection from piensapiensa.com to piensapiensa.com but it doesn't work properly. Thanks

Onpage Optimisation
Hi Guys, Has anyone noticed that the onpage rules seem to have changed in terms of what Google is looking for. I have just been optimizing a client site, I haven't worked on for a year and noticed that the pages I have worked on have dropped since lat week when I finished the onpage. Some of them aren't just 1 or 2 places but literally pages. It can't be links as I haven't even started link building yet. These are the same rules i have been playing with for six years and I don't cut corners with rogue text, or overly optimize for keywords. I am going to give it till the end of the month and then reverse the changes be interesting to see what happens. Kind Regards Neil

In a perfect world I would like to enter in one domain name and have a report generated that shows All Internal links, link titles, and anchor text All internal broken links / redirects All images, image size and image alt, if the image alt is missing. I'd love to be about to export these reports to excel and quickly run my on page optimization. The goal is to produce a checklist for a developer to execute quickly. Thanks for your help Gabe

Blog page outranks static page for KW -- why?
Blog page ranks 10 in Google, while the static page is on page 7. What makes it more interesting is that the blog page scores an "F" with the Term Target tool while the static page scores an "A". Static page has more inbound links and a mR/mT of 3.89/ 4.54 vs. 3.71/ 4.14 for the blog page. Any ideas on how to approach this one?

Why some pages are not indexed?
I have a furniture´s ecommerce. When searching for "site: movstore.com.br" returned 1080 results, but if I search for "site: movstore.com.br / Product" returned 1020 results. I mean, that 1080 indexed pages, 1020 are products pages and the other 60 pages are irrelevant. Where are the category pages? "site: movstore.com.br / Categories" - 0 results

Best Practice for Deleting Pages
What is the best SEO practice for deleting pages? We have a section in our website with Employee bios, and when the employee leaves we need to remove their page. How should we do this?
