Weird Analytics Question
-
Looking at a Google Analytics report for a client - Traffic Sources - Referrals - Landing Pages from one particular referrer. This one referral site is a large trade directory that links onto several deep pages of the site, but also links onto the homepage. Analytics is showing the one landing page as //index.html. That's 2 // - not one. If you click on the link, it's a 404.
I've never seen this in Analytics before. I'm looking at the client's info on this trade directory site and I can't see a link that points to this 404. The majority of incoming traffic from this site is apparently coming to this //index.html page, so you'd think it would be coming from their main profile on the site. But it's not there. Also, if you had all this referral traffic coming to a 404, you'd expect a really high bounce rate, but it's not - it's average. The client also has a sister site also listed in this directory, and I'm not seeing this same issue in their Analytics.
Is this just some weird glitch in Analytics?

Perfect. Thanks!

I've seen this happen before - Is the "Default page" setting in Google Analytics being used? If yes, is there a "/" at the front of the Default page setting? My hunch is that the default page setting is set to "/index.html" or just "/". If that is the case, simply remove the slash and it should work.

Two lots of Analytics - one not Universal
Hi, We have been using two lots of GA code on our website - one was the old code and we added the new GA code under a different property too. Now that the old code is redundant do I: update the old code on property 1 to the Universal version and keep running the two properties (not sure this is the one I should do) remove the old code from property 1 and don't replace it with Universal version (but what happens to historical data?) remove the new code in property 2 and update the old code to the latest Universal version (but what happens to the historical data in property 2 or doesn't it matter?) The current code on the site is: <noscript><p>Please enable javascript</p></noscript> <noscript><p>Please enable javascript</p></noscript> <noscript><p>Please enable javascript</p></noscript> <noscript><div>Please enable JavaScript for your browser.</div></noscript> I've clearly got a bit confused so help would be appreciated. Thanks

Is there a way to find out who the admin of a Google Analytics account is?
We have a client who has been searching high and low to gain access to the GA account that is tied to their website, but previous agencies keep stating they don't have access. Is there a way to find out who the admins are on a GA account with the tracking number so we can reach out to that person and ask them to admin the client?

Tracking repeat buyers Universal Analytics
Hi there, I want to track the repeat buyers on my ecommerce. In order to do that, I am going to create a custom dimension on Analytics. The custom dimension will be called "repeat_buyers" with scope user because I want to track the user over time. Is my assumption correct? How would you you set it up? When I have this dimension, I would just apply the default metric transaction on my reports. I don't have experiencie on custom dimensions so I might be totally wrong. Can you please help? Thanks and regards

Google Analytics Custom Alert For Goal Completions?
Hi currently setting up custom alerts for a website. I want to do a custom alerts for when goal completions decrease or increase by a certain % e.g. 20% as shown in the third example from this Moz Article back in 2012 - http://moz.com/blog/7-essential-google-intelligence-custom-alerts-that-keep-me-sane However when i go into my GA account the only options seem to be for when the goal completion conversion rate % drops. I could use this, but i rather do just based on completions rather than %. Any ideas on how i can do this? Thanks.

Google Analytics Showing Inflated Product Revenue
Hi- For the month of Feb on two of our sites we are seeing inflated product revenues. I have not seen this before and I am not having any luck searching for answers. Here is the issue: Product B sells for $159.95 For the month of Feb we sold 3 thus revenue should be ~$479.85 GA is showing Product B's revenue at $3,360.00 I read online that sometimes folks will bookmark the receipt page and that can cause this and we would need to put a catch in place for this but I am guessing this is not the case as it is happening on two sites. Please let me know if you have any questions.
