Question #3) My last question has to do with Some SEOmoz crawl diagnostics -
-
I recently fixed (or well, I am asking to make sure that this was the right thing to do in my first question posted a few minutes ago), a problem where all of my internal main sidebar category pages were linking using https://, which to my knowledge means SECURE pages.
anyways, OSE, and google seem to be not recognizing the link juice.
but my rank fell for one of my main keywords by 2 positions about a week after i made the fix to have the pages be indexable.
Making my pages properly linked can't be a bad thing right?
That's what I said.
So I looked deeper, and my crawl diagnostics reports showed a MASSIVE reduction in warnings (about 3,000 301 redirects were removed by changing the https:// to http:// because all the secure pages were re-directing to http:// regular structure)
and an INCREASE, in Duplicate Page Titles, and Temporary redirects...
Could that have been the reason the rank dropped?
I think I am going to fix all the Duplicate Page Title problems tonight, but still, I am a little confused as to why such a major fix didn't help and appeared to hurt me.
I feel like it hurt the rank, not because of what I did, but because what I did caused a few extra re-directs, and opened the doors for the search engine to discover more pages that had problems (which could have triggered an algo that says hey, these people have to much duplicate problems)
Any thoughts will be GREATLY appreciated thumbed, thanked, and marked as best answers!
Thanks in advance for your time,
Tyler A.

Does MOZ still do deep crawls of the website?
In the past you could get MOZ to crawl your website, now I don't see this option, no do I see a crawl at the beginning of the month. Has this change? I saw this as a useful feature.

No Crawl data in dashboard
For the second straight week, I have had no crawl data in my dashboard. It seems like the crawler erased all my results in the pro dashboard. Is there a way to manually recrawl my site, since I will have to wait another week to see if it comes back to earth? Thanks

Why does Crawl Diagnostics report this as duplicate content?
Hi guys, we've been addressing a duplicate content problem on our site over the past few weeks. Lately, we've implemented rel canonical tags in various parts of our ecommerce store, over time, and observing the effects by both tracking changes in SEOMoz and Websmater tools. Although our duplicate content errors are definitely decreasing, I can't help but wonder why some URLs are still being flagged with duplicate content by our SEOmoz crawler. Here's an example, taken directly from our Crawl Diagnostics Report: URL with 4 Duplicate Content errors:

/safety-lights.html Duplicate content URLs:
/safety-lights.html ?cat=78&price=-100
/safety-lights.html?cat=78&dir=desc&order=position /safety-lights.html?cat=78 /safety-lights.html?manufacturer=514 What I don't understand, is all of the URLS with URL parameters have a rel canonical tag pointing to the 'real' URL
/safety-lights.html So why is SEOMoz crawler still flagging this as duplicate content?0 -

Initiate crawl
Anyway to start the crawl of a site immediately after changes have been made? Or must you wait for the next scheduled crawl? Thanks.

Crawl complete, but nothing changed?
Hi everyone, According to my account, the crawl diagnostics were completed yesterday. However, the duplicate page titles that it mentions aren't correct. The changes that I implemented several days ago are not being shown in the report. When I click the duplicate page title links, the latest date in the graph is 3/26. However, it says the crawl was completed on 3/30. Does it take a few days for the reports to match what the crawl actually discovered?
