Login Page Redirection

Hello,
I have certain pages on my site which are login only. Am wondering if a user reaches that page, should I send him to a 301 redirect to a new login page? or some other form of redirection?
Any suggestions on how to best tackle this situation?
Update
If I redirect to a login.php page, then what kind of redirection should I use?

Follow/nofollow tells Google whether to follow the links on that page, regardless of whether it should index it.
Follow is usually safer, because even if it doesn't add the page to Google's index it at least alows Google to follow the links and pass some PageRank around. If a login form is all there is, nofollow would be no problem either, but it can never hurt to have Google follow the links to other sections of your website.
The only time I use nofollow in combination with noindex if it's a page that links out a lot (like the almost obligatory 'Friends' or similar linking pages). Those pages I don't want to index AND don't want to pass pagerank through. Anything else: just follow.

Anant - Stephan's answer below is correct... I should've included that in my original answer but Monday morning laziness took over! One thing to remember - make sure you only add it to pages that require a login as you'll end up de-indexing a load of pages if you mess it up.

How do I add a noindex, follow code? Is it a HTML tag? should it be follow or nofollow?

I'm guessing that you currently load the login form if the user isn't logged in onto the page without redirecting? If so, that's perfectly fine... all I'd do is add a 'noindex, follow' meta robots tag to those pages.
Others might think differently though - would be interested to hear if there're any benefits in redirecting to a central login page...

Is it better to create more pages of content or expand on current pages of content?
I am assuming that one way of improving the rankings of current pages will be to create more content on the keywords used... should this be an expansion of the content on current pages I am optimising for a keyword or is it better to keep creating new pages and if we are creating new pages is it best to use an extension of the keyword on the new page – for example if we are optimising one page for ‘does voltage optimisation work’ would it then be worth creating a page optimised for ‘does voltage optimisation work in hotels’ for example and so on? I am guessing maybe both might help, this is just a question I have had from one of my clients.

Looking for a few hours of consult from an on-page/redirection SEO guru.
Hi! I could post our question here, but I think we will need an hour or so of questions and answers. Anyone consider themselves an on-page guru or redirection strategy guru? Here is the breakdown: 1. We sell digital media. 2. Most of the pages that return for us in the serps are indexed Search Results pages. From the research we have done, these are our highest trafficked results, but also our lowest converters. We have hundreds of thousands of indexed and dynamic Search Result pages we need to deal with. 3. We are concerned about Panda eventually giving us issues with these indexed Search Pages. 4. We would like to 301 re-direct these indexed Search Results pages to applicable product pages. 5. Looking for advice on a strategy to do so which would include the best way to locate the pages we need to 301 in the SERPS, being careful that the 301 will help and not harm us, etc. Note, we are just looking for a couple of hours of discussion and guidance. We don't need a massive SEO analysis or anything. Just looking for input and guidance on this one particular issue. Only 1 Page Being Crawled
I have a website I'm tracking www.alhi.com. But my report is saying that only 1 page is being crawled each update. My campaign is set up for the sub domain www.alhi.com, so I'm not sure why I would have this issue. Can you help? Thanks!

Question regarding two versions of a page (redirect)
At one point in my SEO journey I had noticed some duplicate issues going on in Google webmaster tools (I could have been reading it wrong.) It looked like WMT was saying I had 2 versions of some of pages...it looked like pages that ended in a '/' ranking differently than pages that have no slash at the end. So I downloaded the redirect plugin and redirected many non / pages to the page that end with the "/". This was probably a mistake. but I'm trying to clean all of that up. (I'm also noticing that SEOMoz tools tells me my site has many, many redirected url's. I'm not sure why. I was looking at http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/pages?site=noahsdad.com%2F this morning at my top pages and it shows 2 versions (one being redirected) of the page about my son who was born with Down syndrome. (Noahsdad.com/story and Noahsdad.com/story/) I don't know if I've built rankings for those pages separately and it would now hurt me if I did away with the redirect. I'm not sure why I did the redirects (I must have read something online somewhere.) I'm wondering if someone wouldn't mind looking at the report and letting me know what the best way to 'clean' this stuff up...Should I go into the redirect software and delete all of the redirects where the non / page is being redirected to the / page? Too many on page links
I'm having trouble interpreting this data. It says several of my blog pages have too many on page links, some as high as 140 and there is no example of a blog post that they are referring to. What am I missing? I never post more than a handful (5-7) in our 600-1000wd blogs. When I drill down, it doesn't give me very much information except "Found over 41 years ago" off to the right. When I click on the "too many on page links" URL, it provides a long list of website pages that are renamed with the blog name. huh? A lot of this stuff isn't very intuitive, SEOMoz.

Wordpress when to use posts or pages
Hi Guys, I have a network of EMD sites that currently use a homepage and then we have a blog page which has 5-6 posts on. Is this the best way to do it with sites under 10-20 pages? Or should we create say 3-4 new pages/categories and drop the posts relevant to each page/category in there? Thank you Jon
