Rich-Snippets with Sitelinks. How-to?

Quick question with a hopefully easy answer (and to get away from all this Penguin 2.0 talk). Does anyone have any tips for activating Sitelinks for landing pages other than your homepage?
I've attached a screenshot to better illustrate what I'm hoping to achieve, but basically I would like our SERP to have the same extra links under our meta description as the #2 result. I haven't been able to find any direct information as to how to achieve this. Is their markup code involved? Another one of those things that Google just randomly does?
The keyword in questions is, "teaching jobs abroad" FYI
Any factors that would point me in the right direction would be very helpful!

Sitelinks are "earned" with a high quality site that communicates brand trust and where Google determines "these pages are the most visited pages". Having proper information architecture and navigational breadcrumbs (RDFa or Schema) can sometimes help because they reinforce content relationships, however they're not required to obtain sitelinks.

Here's what I know about sitelinks in a nutshell:
Google randomly chooses them, there is no markup involved.
From my experience, more prominent pages from your navigation tend to be chosen.
All you can do is choose which pages should NOT display as sitelinks by demoting them in GWT.
It is easiest to attain sitelinks for branded search terms.

Should I Change My Blog Permalinks to Remove The Date
Hi All Thank you in advance for any help. Last year a website was moved to multisite and the permalinks for the blog posts were changed to include a category, the year, the month and day. As a result most of the page URL's are flagged as too long. A number of the pages are receiving good traffic, so my question is whether just to leave them as they are or to change the permalinks? Snippet showing as domain name with apostrophe, instead of page title when searching for the domain name.
Hi, We have an issue with one of our websites, with the snippet dispaying differently in Google serps when searching for the domain or the website name rather than a search term. When searching for a search term, the page title shows as expected, but when searching for the site by the domain name either with or without the tld, it shows the snippet as the domain name with an apostrophe at the end. Meta descriptions
Whats the deal with the date at the start of the meta descriptions? I have not really looked into this but I'm guessing its a blog thing? Is there a way to remove this? Thanks in advance
