Can you recommend a tool to identify contact email for list of 1000 domains?
-
We researched a list of about 1000 domains, which are all in one industry segment.
Any tool you can recommend to identify corresponding contact emails, based on domain whois or email on website or in contact page?
what is your experience with sending emails just to info@DOMAIN_NAME ?
-
thanks: I tried it. Buzzstream identified about 25% contact emails of the list.
In the end I did not find a way to export the email adresses out of buzzstream. I contacted support but now after 1 week no repsonse.

Mark,
thanks. I tried seogadget.co.uk, good for lower numbers of websites.
It identified contact emails for about 20% of the sites I tested. You can test a max. of 200 websites at a time.
on the upside it is free.Still will be searching for other tools (even if paid).

Just started using BuzzStream and have found it really helpful. You can upload domains via various sources and it'll return all the info you want and you can then launch outreach emails from within the software. I'm quite taken by it.

Keri,
perfectly understand your concern.
in this case all domains are from an updated industry directory with a very specific niche of businesses. Our email is highly relevant to each of these businesses and we actually neither ask for a link nor plan to sell them anything. -
Can you give some details on the type of email you'll be sending? In many cases, automated tools don't provide you with appropriate context. Daily, I receive offers for providing SEO services for my site that offers RC battleships that shoot and sink each other. The only place my email appears on that site is on the About Us page, where I state that I am the webmaster, my day job is at Moz, and to please stop emailing me offers for SEO. It makes for a really bad first impression of a company, and it's what can happen if you only search for contact information without context.

You can use scrapebox to scrape whois info for the domains, and then use the emails you get from the scrape.
For manual guess work, you can try using rapportive and plugging in variations and seeing what you find - you can also try this nifty tool built by the team at SEO Gadget to pull contact info and other various metrics - http://tools.seogadget.co.uk/
Good luck,
Mark

Domain Change Before or After Site Revamp?
In the last year traffic to our site has dropped in half and ranking has dropped significantly. Very little no content has been added in that time. We would now like to improve ranking by adding new content. 2 domains effectively exist for the site. The existing domain is www.nyc-officespace-leader.com. But www.metro-manhattan.com redirects to www.nyc-officespace-leader.com. Our company is Metro Manhattan Office Space, Inc.. We registered www.metro-manhattan.com and created the redirect to www.nyc-officespace-leader.com in 2012. www.nyc-officespace-leader.com was registered in 2006. Many links to the site show www.metro-manhattan.com and I believe this may be a source of confusion for Google. Would it be best to make the domain consistent at this time by redirecting it once and for all and to do so before adding new content? If this is done correctly can we avoid taking a hit on ranking? Note: -www.nyc-officespace-leader.com is the old domain.

-www.metro-manhattan is the new domain but has existed since 2012 and has been redirecting to the old domain since then
-The company name is Metro Manhattan Office Space (similar in branding to the new domain) Am I correct in assuming that having the 2 domains may be causing issues with Google involving domain authority? Change the domain before adding content or add content before?0 -
Parking page for domain names
Hi all, I represent a hosting company which has thousands of domain names that is parked for the clients until they start using them. Currently we are presenting the client and visitors information about the situation in the top of the pages and we have placed information about all the main products in the last part of the page. You can see an example here:

http://prodesign.no/ Would you recommend utilizing these pages in a better way than how we are doing today (SEO wise towards our own website)? We have the ability to instantly change all of these pages at once and we are also able to present different pages for every single parked domain name if we want to. Best regards,

How to Identify Audience Overlap
Hi, what is the best way to identify audience overlap? I ask because I manage a collection of sites that I believe serves the same audience and feel that we may be cannibalizing our marketing efforts. Site A - Is our supplement/vitamin store and receives around 38% of our total traffic. Ultimately, we want people to funnel to this site as it is where they would be converting obviously. Site B - Is our expert/spokespersons site and receives about 40% of our traffic. Site C - Is a specific weight loss brand created and endorsed by our spokesperson and sold on Site A. This site gets around 16% of our traffic. Site D - Is also a specific weight loss program also endorsed by our spokesperson and sold on Site A. It gets the remaining 6% or so of traffic. Now, all of these sites have a fairly similar focus and I can probably come up with several arguments to either keep or do away with them. I'd like to be able to look at analytics data though, that could help in making that decision. Ultimately, sites a and b would be kept regardless but I have always wondered if we would be better served by consolidating sites c and d into a.

Using pictures from another domain
We are building several sites for several clients which will be using images from the manufacturer. Our dev team wants to insert the manufacturer's url for the images, instead of actually downloading the image and hosting on our server. There are thousands of images, so downloading images to our server will be time consuming, so we are looking for a shortcut.... however I'm concerned this will cause other issues. Is using manufactueresdomain.com/12345.jpg going to cause SEO issues? will this generate Google penalties? Since we are not able to control the image file name, we cannot optimize it. We will add Alt text and Title tag for each image, but the file name is random characters. How important is the file name for SEO?

Domain Name Redirect Question
My agency just built a new website for a client who is a franchisee. It's not launched yet - it's currently under an IP address. I suggested to client that he buy a keyword-rich domain name for it, which he did. Then he found out that the franchisor will not allow it to be his main domain name. They want him to use a domain name with the franchisor name in it. But they WILL allow him to put a 301 redirect on that franchisor-approved domain name, and redirect it to his keyword-rich domain name. He is interested in having my agency perform an SEO Campaign for this new website. But would SEO and link marketing work for a website that has a new non-keyword domain name that 301 redirects to a new keyword-rich domain name?

Age of a re-directed domain same as age of a static domain?
I know domain age plays a role in SEO--but, I am wondering if a domain is set up to 301 re-direct to another domain if it builds the same amount of authority over time as the static domain--just looking at age as a ranking factor, not links accumulated over time.

Can I Refine My Keyword List to Highlight Top (15) Keywords?
My client is wondering if I could provide him with a list of his site's 15 Top performing SEO keywords. However, based on the layout of everything I've used here on SEOMoz, I don't believe that's possible. Or, am i incorrect? Can you indeed come up with a list of Top (XX) SEO keywords for a given time period, for a campaign/website? Thanks ahead of time.

Nobody Can Answer This? What Can Google Tell About Videos?
I uploaded a video to youtube one time and then went to upload it again, but saved differently with different tags. Youtube rejected the second upload as being the same as the first. Really, it was the same... just a different file with different tags. Now, I was thinking about making and uploading some similar but not identical videos for embedding on some web pages. Was thinking I'd make the voice overs different, but the images mostly the same montage. Do you think Youtube/Google will see it as the same video? I kind of assume that it didn't fly when I first tried it some time ago because youtube was looking at the audio in the way it can make a transcription. Do you think if the audi,o, file name, tags were different, it wouldn't matter if the video was the same? Thanks!
