Is the Moz Ranking Report correct?
-
Hello here,
today I got my weekly report from Moz by email and it reported a strong decline of rankings on some of our major keywords. Then I went to check on Google personally, and instead I found my pages ranked much higher than reported by Moz (please note that my results wasn't personalized...). I also use a desktop program to check my rankings, and what I found personally on Google corresponded to what my desktop program reported me.
Here is an example: my website is virtualsheetmusic.com, and Moz reported a rank NOT in top 50 for the following keyword:
"moonlight sonata sheet music"
Whereas we are actually on the 19th spot.
Another example for the keyword "czardas violin sheet music", Moz reports NOT in top 50, whereas we are actually at the 5th spot on the first page of Google results!
Why's this? Anyone can explain? Is there anything wrong with Moz ranking report?

Thank you!

I'm not aware of a change, but I'm glad to hear the data is matching what you're seeing. Thanks for letting us know!
-
UPDATE: today I got my new report from Moz and now the data is right! Have you guys fixed anything on your side? Just curious... anyhow, now everything looks good! Thanks!
-
Sorry just found: it is actually setup with the domain "www.virtualsheetmusic.com" so that should be good! What do you think?

Hi Keri.
How can I check how my campaign is set up? I tried to find that out but I can't find where that can be defined.
Thanks for your help!

Is your campaign set up with or without the www subdomain? If your campaign is set up for non-www and the results you're seeing are on www, that would be the reason (and it's a common reason).
We have more details about our rankings report at http://moz.com/help/pro/rankings. If that doesn't answer your question, it's best to submit a ticket to the help desk and see if there's some type of error. Thanks!

Unsolved Why did I stop ranking on a keyword and how will I rank on it again?
I often see in my campaigns, that keywords which ranked on a page between spot 1 to 5 on the SERP stop being ranked on that respective page, causing the website to be in the 5th page or worse on Google. I also see that the keyword is not linked to a page anymore. What causes this to happen and how can I solve this from happening in the future? Capture.PNG

When Should I Ignore Moz's Report Canonical Missing?
I'm dealing with an eCommerce website which has a category, subcategory, products. Moz is showing all of these and the individual products as missing a canonical. The site is very thin on content at the moment, but all the pages are clearly different, and I don't see why they need a canonical unless this is some rule that eCommerce sites have to follow. Should I ignore Moz's missing canonical report? My understanding is if the product appears in multiple categories, then a canonical should be put in place to the product. Any advice would be appreciated. Christina

Can Moz tools help me with this effort?
I want to brainstorm different keywords, look for high search volumes, and low competition. Then I want to create landing page, rank them using seo techniques, and collect optin email addresses so I can communicate with interested users and build helpful products. With all the moz tools available to us, how can I accomplish the above mentioned goal? Have you done some thing similar? What are your experiences? Am I talking pie in the sky? Are there any practical examples where all these steps were executed? Thanks

Rel="canonical" tag is implemented in my product pages, but still getting canoncal error for products in Moz. What is the problem? me or MOZ?
I have included the rel="canonical" tag in all my product pages, but still getting canonical error in MOZ reports for more than 6 month ! I would like to know if my code is wrong or the MOZ report system is not working properly. Here is an example of my canonical code in line 84 rel="canonical" href="http://www.doornmore.com/slab-single-door-80-fiberglass-courtlandt-1-panel-arch-lite-glass.html" /> Thanks Shayann

Crawl Diagnostics Report
I'm a bit concerned about the results I'm getting from the Crawl Diagnostics Report. I've updated the site with canonical urls to remove duplicate content and when I check the site - it all displays the right values, but the report, which has just finished crawling is still showing a lot of pages as duplicate content. Simple example: http://www.domain.com http://www.domain.com/ Both of them are in the duplicate content section although both have canonical url set as: Does each crawl check the entire site from the beginning or just the pages it didn't have a chance to crawl the last time? This is just one of 333 duplicate content pages, which have canonical url pointing to the right page. Can someone please explain?
