Tweaking Adwords
-
Hi,
I want to understand how one can tweak adwords and make first line long. I am showing the example as attachment. Please check and guide. Is this ethical ?
Regards,
Preet

Yes its ethical...and highly effective.
you just need to use punctuation at the end of line 1 description.
look at your example...there is a period (.) at the end of the long headline.

Thank you for a quick and detailed reply.

I couldn't get the attachment link to work, but by linking right to http://www.apexsoft.ca/adwords.jpg I can see what you're asking.
This is a feature recently introduced into Adwords that moves the content from the Description Line 1 into the Headline. The guidelines state that if Description Line 1 is a full and complete sentence, Google may create the longer headline.
In your screenshot, you can see that only the highlighted ad has a gramatically correct and full sentence as its Description Line 1, and as a result it's been moved to the headline.
The other two ads are both missing what in my opinion are crucial full stops that severely impact the readability of the ad when displayed in the top-box three-pack -- let alone prohibit the "headline increase" promotion!
AFAIK there is no way to trigger this per se, it's all at Google's discretion. Rather than changing the text of your ads to include a fullstop you might get a quicker result by creating a new ad that contains the same text and the grammatical fixes.
Hope that helps!

Should I use Google AdWords express or just Google AdWords? Should I set up individual accounts for each of my clients so they are somehow "portable" or should they all sit under the same master account? As you can see my knowledge is somehow limited and any help would be welcome. If you can point me in some easy to follow tutorial directly aimed at PPC for small businesses that would be awesome. Many thanks0 -
Intermediate Adwords Course
I've got a decent understanding of Adwords however want to now take it to another level. Is there a course anyone can recommend that enables me to understand Adwords thoroughly to an expert level? I would classify myself as an intermediate at this point with a good foundational understanding, but far short of comprehensive. I'm looking for a video course and allow me to understanding everything to a deep level and how to execute strategies that can be effective.

Does anyone know if there are any adwords guideline restrictions against naming a product with the term "Clinically Proven?"
If you do a search for something like "protein powder" there are the sponsored ads where you can shop. Does anyone know if there are any guidelines against naming a product with "Clinically Proven." For example, "Clinically Proven Protein Powder." Any guidance, insight, or links helping to answer this question would be appreciated.

Potential problems with multiple users of an adwords MCC
Morning all, I have had a query regarding granting access to an MCC account for people using various platforms. Now this a pretty specific query for an area outside my expertise, and conveniently both our PPC guys are on holiday so thought i would reach out to the community. Full request is this: "On the mcc I am slightly concerned about that, from experience I have run into problems especially with granting access for usage of API’s on an account, so if for example we wanted to use marin they would need access then another wanted to use adobe they would need another and if they are all sat under the SSM teams mcc that could be problematic or we would have to set up another." Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom.

Poor performing adwords account - would a new account on a different subdomain be a good way to start a fresh?
Hi We have a client who has a poor performing adwords account and has suggested starting a new account with a different gmail account, different card details and a different subdomain. More specifically we will be using unbounce to create landing pages. I was wondering the following: Will Google be able to relate the new account to the old account? If so will they then use the old accounts history with regards to quality score etc...? The keywords being targeted are in and around "email marketing" which is highly competitive - would a new account struggle at first and need to bid excessively high because of lack of history? They have a high budget - does this affect how quickly and how Google looks at an account - will they get priority? Would it be better to scrap this idea and pause the old campaign and start new campaigns in the same adwords account? Would it be better to scrap this idea and repair the existing campaigns/ad groups? Keen to get people's thought's on this one as I can't seem to find a clear cut answer from the web. Thanks Anthony

Do Google Autofill and Instant Search affect Adwords' Keyword Tool reports?
While performing keyword research around the term "windows", I noticed the keyword "windo" gets 18,000 global monthly searches with .23 competition. Why is this? Do y'all think the Google Autofill and Instant Search features affect reports generated by using the Google Adwords keyword tool? For example, if a user starts typing a search query only to find the site they were looking for before they finished typing the search query, does Google count the partial keyword the user never finished typing into the Adwords Keyword report? I've always wondered about this. Sometimes I find it tempting to attack a misspelled keyword because of the massive search volume and low competition for that keyword. I realize that many consumers may not be very good at spelling, and this may reflect a large search volume towards a misspelled keyword. On the other hand, I see this trend of high volume, misspelled keywords many times while performing keyword research for a variety of clients. Thanks.
