Dupplicate Page Content

Hey Guys
SEOMOZ is showing up Dupplicate Page Content, but this just comes up because we use Tags at all the blog posts.
Should we better not use Tags?

My view on tags is that they are helpful for humans to find information on a specific topic quickly. Being that they are more beneficial to human visitors than search engines, I have always blocked tag pages from being indexed via robots.txt. I also block categories and feeds from being crawled as well. This may be overkill, but it has worked well for me to avoid duplicate content issues on various blogs that I help manage.

The "Other URLs" column offers the number of duplicates. That number is a hyperlink to a new page which offers the details you seek. Take a look and if you have any questions share that screenshot.

The most common cause of duplicate content is multiple versions of a URL point to the same content.
Each of the above examples, along with many others, can all point to the exact same page. The issue can be resolved by adding a canonical tag to your page's html. In the tag of your html add
Replace the URL in the example with the URL of your page. Once that is done, run a new crawl report. If you continue to find duplicate content, take a look at the exact URLs and referring pages to help narrow down the issue.

Duplicate Content behind a Paywall
We have a website that is publicly visible. This website has content. We'd like to take that same content, put it on another website, behind a paywall. Since Google will not be able to crawl those pages behind the paywall is there any risk to ua doing this? Thanks! Mike

Content Curation & Duplicate Content
Hi, I have a client that wants to do content curation but it has been my understanding that adding external content that is already live on another website to your website, you get penalized for duplicate content. I have read that you can create an excerpt and then Google won't penalizes you for duplicate content. Can anyone shed more light on this topic. Thanks

Get duplicate content error in seomoz even after fixed canonical
http://www.webworld.no - We have been getting error Page Duplicate Content Errors. But we have fixed the canonical. Actually, we have list of portfolio and detailed page for each portfolio But We get error all portfolio pages are having duplicate content. But, i made canonical tag to direct to root page. Duplicate content problems, so why does WordPress post onto Tumblr?
Hi Everyone, Basically I know that if you have duplicate content your ranking is effected! This I understand, so why is it that WordPress has the option to post your blog entry straight onto your paired Tumblr account? Surely if this can be done, I can have the same content on the company website but also on WP and Tumblr? Or is there some sort of method to how it works specifically for those 2 websites? Duplicate content on the homepage
Hello SEOMOZ Is giving me an error on duplicated content on my site. When viewing the details it is showing the following as duplicated content domain.co.uk/ domain.co.uk domain.co.uk/index.html Obviously these are the same pages. Why is it seeing them as seperate. Best way to avoid duplicate content issues here.
I am planning to write an article that refutes some claims made in another article. The original article is a 20 page pdf. What I plan to do is to take quotes from this PDF and then under each quote write my arguments for or against the quote. If I take direct quotes from the article, is Google likely to see this as duplicate content?
