Linking strategy between my websites
-
Dear all,
I am quite new in SEO and I am very confused about linking strategy.
I have several websites proposing proofreading services in French and I don't know how to link them together so they get the best chance to have a good ranking.
What strategy would you suggest ?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Yafiz

Thanks Joel and Richard for your answers.
You make me wondering whether my strategy is good.
Here is the strategy : I have a website about proofreading service in wordpress. I have other domains whose name are my critical keywords. I was planning to copy/paste my main website on the secondary sites and obviously to change the content to avoid duplicate content (but wordpress template and design will be exactly the same on all the sites).
Once this is done I was planning to link the websites together.
Is there any risk of being classified ''black hat'' by Google ?
Thanks a lot,
Dan

I would be careful. When you say "multiple websites" a few alarms go off in my head. You definitely don't want to get in trouble with duplicate content.
Also with multiple websites you might have a content issue. Why don't you put all of that content in one place and condense everything to one website.

Ok well i will start by telling you that make sure that the sites are not the same code, just a different domain. Google looks for that and its considered "Black Hating". But say they are different it will all depend on the page rank of each site. Too get the best results use multiple links (IE: I build websites for my customers and when i do i put my site link at the bottom, but within my site i also link back to them.) This is were it gets tricky to get the most for the link say I build a roofing website for someone. My SEO company has nothing to do with roofing, but i do websites so i would build a page that give some info on the clients site. Like what they had in mind when we built it and so on.
But linking from one to other will not do much if your just put a link on the page, make sure the link is relevant to the page its linking too. Also i would put them within a blog or content.

Should harmful links to your own website be removed?
Upon running a link report on a website, there are often multiple links flagged as bad or suspect that come from a blog that is integrated into the website, which means there are links (set up as article tags) in the site that go to other pages in the same site. They have likely been flagged due to their high frequency. A similar problem is occurring where blogs from a connected site (from an offshoot site of a company that is part of the original) are also tagging their blog posts to link into the original website. Should these links be disavowed? Will these links have an effect on the website if they are disavowed or not?

Linkbuilding strategy for website development firm... some questions...
Hi there: I own a website development and internet marketing business. We began providing onpage optimization as a natural extension of our website design services for our clients. I'm now personally working on the backlinks for our site, and I have a question for someone with more insight than I currently possess: You folks are probably aware that many web design agencies post footer links in their client's site, with some sort of anchor text to the effect of "website designed by Blankety Blank..." I've read that these types of sitewide footer links are probably a wash, in terms of linkbuilding value. (Thoughts anyone?) My best sense is that they help a little, but not a lot. Which led me to my next stratagem, which I'd like some feedback on the merits of... I'm thinking of offering my clients a slight price reduction in exchange for a dedicated page on their site for attribution. It wouldn't be pure self-promotion in nature; really just a brief description of tools used to build the site and a backlink. It could be part of a pre-existing "partners" page on the site, if client has one, currently. (Some of ours do...) The net result of this would be a single backlink from the main body content of client's page. Is this a smart move? I'm wondering what others think...

Do sites on the same c-block and same server count as seperate linking root domains when linking to each other?
Lets say there are 50 businesses who have their website on the same server and are on the same c-block but the owners of the individual sites are different (i.e. they are all completely different sites not relevant to each other). Each of those sites are linking to each other due to a feature on the sites. This obviously increases the number of total links to each site but does it also increase the number of linking root domains? Or does this just show up as one linking root domain due to all of them being on the same server and the sharing the same c-block?

Links on the same keyword
When is linking from one particular keyword to much. At what point could link building from one keyword be considered spam and potentially delist a site ? Is it possible for a site to be delisted for having to many links from the same keyword ? Heard linking from the website name is more important following recent changes. I try and link from a selection of 3 to 4 keywords. Thanks for your help
