Recommendation for Small Business SEO
-
I'm trying to find a company that can provide SEO services for our small business. We have a limited budget, $500 a month or less. We have staff that can do much of the work in terms of correcting content issues, changing content, etc. However, I'm not an SEO expert and we need someone to help us by understanding where we are now and providing ongoing guidance on what we should be doing to improve and also in helping with execution where possible and/or necessary.
Can anyone recommend a company that might be able to help us with this within our budget constraints?
-
Have you thought of instead spending $1000 or $2000 on an audit that can identify your current problems, and give you direction so your staff can work on correcting the issues?
-
@Yiannis, I didn't 'bash' or 'blame' anyone. I don't know what 'services' I should be looking for which is why I'm trying to hire someone to help me understand that. Also, your statement that "...offering a budget which is close to the monthly MoZ subscription..." is not accurate. I pay $99 a month for Moz, that is not close to $500.
@vadim, yeah I tried that recommended list section. No luck.
Of the 39 vendors in the SEO Consulting section;
1 - provides courses, not consulting
5 - do not provide any pricing information
33 - have pricing that starts at a minimum of $1,000 a month
Local Search, 23
1 - does web design
1 - does project based only starting at $1000
3 - no pricing provided
18 - pricing that starts at a minimum of $1,000 a month
At this point it doesn't appear there are any firms that offer monthly retainer services for our budget.

Woa! Well apologies for trying to be helpful Jeremy.
I wanted to make sure that you have checked some of the guides here in case it would be helpful to you and your team and save you some money. Checking best practise guides doesnt mean you are getting "trained in seo".
I can not be in your mind, or know what resources you have already taken into consideration, I made an assumption based on your budget that by "SEO" you mean some on-page tasks that can be sorted with a bit of studying or by following some of the great guides you can find here. After all you are offering a budget which is close to the monthly MoZ subscription so blaming me for not being helpful is kind of unfair.Clearly I shouldnt have made that assumption.
If you want more helpful "advises" in the future maybe try to list what kind of services you are looking for based on your budget instead of posting a price and bashing someone who was trying to be helpful to you and spent some time to reply to you. whatever.
Good luck

Hi Jeremy,
The general consensus here at the moz Q&A is to send you over to: http://moz.com/community/recommended#local-search-services
You are correct many are above this budget, but I still want to encourage you to give that a shot, if nothing works out, PM me and lets chat and I might be able to help out

Hi Yiannis,
I've read the guides, my question had nothing to do with learning SEO. Your suggestion to reach out to relatively random professionals is not helpful. Moz is large community but your assurance that everyone could help me is not realistic. There are many, many people here that don't offer services for the budget I have available.
I'm looking for recommendations of people or firms that do. By getting recommendations I eliminate spending time (both mine and theirs) trying to assess and reach out to firms that don't.
Still looking for recommendations of companies that offer a <= $500 monthly SEO Service plan.

Hi Jeremy,
Firstly, I suggest you read some of our guides found here on moZ in regards to onpage optimisation and fundamental rules of SEO. Having a small team sorting out the thing you mention can be extremely useful when run tight budgets.
Then I would recommend to browse through relevant topics here on Q&A and find a professional who you are pleased with his/her responses and approach directly by introducing yourself.
Moz is a large community full of capable professionals and I am sure each one of us could help you but its best if you start from bottom to top rather vise versa
Best of luck!

SEO Strategy help
Hi, I run a B2B 3rd party retail ecommerce site and I am kind of stuck on how to implement my SEO strategy.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | steve45058
So I learned from AdWords data that the best converting words to my site is the (Brand name, Model Number). Many of my B2B customers already know what they want/are looking for. Now this is all fine and dandy for adwords, but I don't really know how to implement this strategy on the SEO side. I do rank decent for some of these product keywords, but 99% of them I do not (which confuses me because some of the brands I rank high for are the more popular brands eg. more competition.) When I do keyword research on SEMRush or another site, it tells me that the competition for this type of keyword strategy is extremely high. Any Help, Advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!1 -

Scaling A Small Agency
I have reached a placed where I now have several clients and we're charged closer to the $2k/month mark for our SEO services. We normally partner with the client's inhouse copywriter or content person so that's a piece we don't have to take on in house...however we do provide content strategy for their person to execute. I'm now at a place where I want to scale and offer link building but quality link building services. I do it all myself and I really can't keep up with the time management and amount of labor that goes into quality link building. We're not looking to outsource or pay $10/hr for link building as I know we won't get the quality and impact our client's want. Can anyone speak to hiring people for SEO/Link building purposes for a small SEO agency? Right now it's myself and 2 interns, but even the interns don't fully know SEO. Just trying to figure out how best to proceed with scaling and how much to pay a part timer we bring in house. Also....how on earth do you all manage link building projects for multiple clients. I hope the $2K I'm charging is a fair rate...I feel like I should be charging more.

Link Building on a small budget
Hi Folks I'm looking for recommendations from the community that can help me tic the requirements below; Looking for link-building services for a small start up. Prefer to work directly with the person doing the work. Prefer that they speak English 🙂 Have a small monthly budget so not looking for big organisations, rather a expert who is working on his/her own, and can have a phone conversation with me before engagement. Any-hoots I may be looking for a needle in a haystack here but any recommendations on people would be highly appreciated 🙂 PS: I know SEOmoz recommends some folks, but wow they are expensive ... can't afford that
