Domain or Category Links for E-Commerce Page?
-
I am trying to rank with my page on a major keyword for my E-Commerce store. Currently, I am ranking on page 4 in SERP:
mydomain.com/category-for-major-keywordNow when people like to link to me, what should I do? Shall they link to:
What brings me more in terms of ranking for that keyword with my category?
Thanks, Robin

I presume that you are talking about a page that is a category page that lists multiple products?
The general rule is that any page will tend to rank more highly when it has quality links pointing towards it. So, the same is true for a product category page. However, I would add the following caveats on the types of links for which you should aim:
- The links should be good ones and not from junk directories, article sites, and so on
- Don't use exact-match anchor text
- Are the websites quality and relevant -- one way to determine this is to ask if you would want a link from a site for the referral traffic even if Google did not exist. Is the page and website talking specifically about that type of product? Is it a website that your potential customers use and is relevant to the industry?
- Look at Domain Authority and Page Authority
- Will the link appear natural or as though you "built" it
- Will the link be an editorial one (placed in the main text of a page) and not in other places that are targeted by spammers (header, footer, sidebar lists, etc.)
- My personal rule is to try to earn links through natural PR and marketing (that's a Moz post I wrote on the topic) rather than to "build" them artificially
- Don't get too many artificial links pointing towards the category page -- it will look like an unnatural link profile. Most natural links will always likely point towards the home page or to pieces of content (like blog posts) that have added to the site.
I hope this helps! For links, quality matters more than quantity. Good luck!

Is www.domain.com/page the same url as www.domain.com/page/ for Google? (extra slash at end of url)
Dear all, in open site explorer there is a difference the url's 'www.domain.com/page' and 'www.domain.com/page/' (extra slash at end). There can be different values in pageauthority etc. in the open site explorer tool, but is this also the case for Google? Thanks for replying, Regards, Ben

Why Doesn't Open Site Explorer show Domain Links from Twitter, WordPress or Feedburner?
I commented on a few blog posts and wanted to see the domain authority of those sites. When I look at our domain links, I notice the links are not there from the blogs (which I now know I have to give it time to show up). But I also noticed that domains with links to our website (regularly) were not showing up either. i .e Twitter, WordPress and Feedburner. I know we have links in these locations, especially Twitter. Why would these domains not show up? Much thanks!

Too Many On-Page Links
The SeoMoz site crawler says all my pages have too many links. I am using Dreamweaver with a horizontal Spry drop-down menu bar. My site has several hundred pages and about 100 of them show up in this Spry menu bar. I believe that this would be considered a false positive for too many links - am I right? Or is Google seeing this also as too many links per page? I am trying to get my Google rankings back after being hurt badly by the Penguin. I am using php but don't see another way to do the site links without going to a CMS type site. Thanks for any help you can give.

TLD vs Sub Domain in Regards to Domain Authority
I have always been under the impression that top level (or root) domains can hold different domain authority than that of a sub domain. Meaning that sub domain's and TLD can hold different ranks and strength in search engine result pages. Is this a correct or just an assumption? If so when i add a root domain and subdomain into the campaign manager i get back the same link information and domain authority? www.datalogic.com
