Can anyone explain the cause of having root domain metrics much smaller than subdomain metrics?
-
Hi!! I'm comparing OSE metrics for a site named like www.mydomain.com and have the following results:
-
Subdomain MozTrust 5.65 (that is www.mydomain.com subdomain)
-
Root domain MozTrust 0.82 (that is mydomain.com domain)
On the other hand one of my competitor have:
-
Subdomain MozTrust 3.68 (that is www.otherdomain.com subdomain)
-
Root domain MozTrust 3.67 (that is otherdomain.com domain)
Both websites' root domains point to the www subdomain. So how come in my domain theres is such a huge difference between these metrics and on the competitor's site both values are very similar?
I'd greatly appreciate any comment on this.
Cheers,
David

Moz error with domain and page authority if no www in my domain
Hello, so our domain is website.com and we do not use www in our domain. Now moz shows our page authority as huge (website. Com) and domain authority very low. But our domain is our page that we rank. Is this due to the fact that we use no www and we rank our main index page? Am I correct? Thanks!

What does "Number of Linking Root Domains" in Open Site Explorer actually mean?
I've read through the forum, but I'm confused as to what "Number of Linking Root Domains" means in the Linking Domains report. For example, if the root domain is Moz.com and the number is 135,000 does that mean there are 135,000 links from Moz pointing back to my site or does it mean there are 135,000 sites linking back to Moz? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Is anyone experiencing trouble with the SERP overlay function?
We are having some issues with the data not being reported and sometimes inconsistent with the OSE results. It could just be our computers, but I wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing difficulty. Thanks!

Competitor analysis, why they rank so much better [ecommerce/Magento]
For a Dutch e-commerce website, we're having some issuse being found & ranked on important keywords. I have done a detailed view into the content & technical part (html) of our website and a competitor's site. Our site is www.hond.nl (hond is the Dutcn noun dog, the best domain we could get)

Competitor: www.obobo.nl (no meaning at all) For searches for instance by dogfood (Dutch: "hondenvoer") we rank really bad while our competitor ranks really well. I've gone trouch the moz-tools intensively but can't figure out why. We got more content, more self-written texts, more incoming root-domain links etc. Any ideas were we could get a solution? Seems that our Splash pages are doing "ok" but especially Category pages are listing badly.0 -
Moz can't crawl domain due to IP Geo redirect loop
Hi, I'm trying to crawl our domain www.salvationarmy.org.au via my Moz account and it only ever returns results for one page when it should be crawling more than 3,000 pages. In talking to support, they have said that because of the redirect we have in place it is creating a 302 loop and therefore not delivering results. Usually in this case I would obtain Moz's IP addresses and add them to the redirect settings as an exception, but Moz have said they use cloud-based services for crawling so the IPs change all the time. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue? At this point I've paid for a year's subscription to a product I can't use. Thanks, Mel
