Is Moz really able to track G+ properly
-
Hi,
I have invested a good deal of time building a G+ community, from nothing to 137 (as of today) We post regular good quality mini blogs and images. We interact with communities and link back to our our own blog. We don't sell on it, it 100% user friendly content. I am getting 10 or so shares per post and 20 or so likes 2-3 times week. My questions are this:
Why can't Moz track page views or post activities for posts on different communities? With all this work we still not able to fully intergrate G+ into our Moz view of the world
Thanks James

Great,
It would be nice to see 'page views' as trackable metric. I will check out those tools you mentioned to see if it will bring that data in.
We have launched a cross platform promotion and are tracking it by the seat of our pants!

Did you mean G+ communities or Pages? Moz can track G+ pages, not communities though.
I think Moz analytics is more interested in your actual engagement on your page and leaves the stuff outside it, to you. I would advice the use of Circloscope to manage circles for communities but In terms of tracking each move you make in communities then http://www.circlecount.com/communities/ might help a little. Not much, but you might find it useful
Thanks

Is there a functional difference between the "google +1" button and the "G+"? Has there been any conclusive research done regarding their affect on SEO?
Google used to offer a +1 button but that seems to have gone away in favor of the new google +1 button or the G+ buttons. I am trying to determine which button I should add to pages on our site but since I am most importantly doing it for SEO impact, i want to make sure I add the correct button...if it matters. Thanks

Social Media Tracking
We currently use Sharing from JetPack to offer people the ability to share our blogs on Twitter, Facebook, and so on. Unfortunately the Site Stats provided are not very thorough and not able to be tracked in Google Analytics. Does anyone have a suggestion on which program is best to use for social media tracking? We would prefer to use one program to gather and show all of the statistics.

G+ places/local - Company Categories and Pages question
I have two questions about google places/local and Personal/Company Pages Regarding Local and the categories section. Should you be using strictly the predefined categories they have? or should you be creating your own? Also say you're a car repair shop for instance. If you should be creating your own such as 'truck repair' should the city be in there as well 'Truck Repair New York/New York Truck Repair(keyword or location first?)' When it comes to company and personal g+ places, i understand doing the rel author and its bennefits but what is the correct way about tagging this? For instance in Wordpress, Studiopress has a section in the profile for the user g+ profile that will rel author it, and Yaost SEO says 'if you have a business page, insert it here and link your personal page as a contributor to the business page' Should we be filling in both sections? or does this cause a conflict? Adding these items is very easy to do, but would rather do it right the first time then circle back and have to correct everything. Any feedback/input is appreciated. Thanks,

How does Social Media really Impact SEO?
It's become a common refrain that social media is critical to SEO. Taking this literally, I have been examining the impact of social media on specific pages and topical areas within my site. Specifically, I am looking at pages and content areas that we promote and link to via social media and I am seeing zero correlation to SEO success. Social media is not impacting my rankings at all. And we have a sizable social footprint. Has anyone else done this type of analysis and seen different results?

Addthis widget tracking success
Hi All, How do I know if people are using an addthis widget setup on product pages. The widget seems to be in an annoying location for me personally and I want to move it or replace it with just a few social media buttons. How do I track its effectiveness? Would you use Addthis widget or manual buttons on ecommerce? Thanks in advance!

Does social media really work?
I just finished a 2 week test using Twitter. The person running the test was tweeting for 1 hour every day, but the tweets were broken up into several different times throughout the day. She engaged in conversations, retweeted, posted interested and catchy topics and linked to our blog. By the end of the test, we only saw a 7% increase in traffic to the blog. There was no noticeable increase in sales. According to an article I read by Business Insider, Applied Predictive Technologies ran a test to help companies like Starbucks measure the impact of social media. They concluded that social media accounted for a 2% increase in sales. That's not much for the time and money that goes into it. What's your experience with social media? When I first posted this, I neglected to say this Twitter account is one we have been activly using for about 2 years, and we have posted to it at least once or twice every day for the last couple of years. And, we are a well established company for the past 8 years, and we regularily submit press releases and have written 2 articles per day on our blog for several years.
