Pro's & Con's of Wordpress Categorys & Tags

I touched on this question a while back in another post specifically regarding a plethora of duplicate pages that I was finding due to inappropriate tagging in wordpress. As I am going through our website, I am starting to notice it happening again with categories as well. I am including some pictures where you can see the URL structures and titles etc of how everything is laid out.
I would like to clarify that I was not the one who did any of this
Is it wrong/bad to cross categorize? What I mean by that is put something in more than one category?
Would there be any drawback to converting any of these into subcategories? Would that even do anything?
Does having two pages that are named the same thing, hurt you?
It would seem to me that Google wouldn't like that. I have recently come into the field of thought that Google is getting more and more human, and If it makes a human uncomfortable/confused it will make Google confused. In my pictures you can see we clearly have numerous hard copies of the same thing, not just duplicate elements created by wordpress, that is a separate issue.
I personally want to change all of the titles and make everything as different and individual as possible, but i also could be very wrong in my desire to do that.
Any thoughts are appreciated!

I have some posts in wordpress in more than one category. The post doesn't exist more than one time, the other categories redirect the user to the one and only post, that exist.
So try to open the one post in one category and than the same post in another category. You will the see the same, I think there are no duplicate posts caused by categories in wordpress. It also doesn't matter if it will be two seperate parent categories or a parent and a child category.
Tipp: if you put a post in a sub-category (category/subcategory) you can selected the sub-category as the only one. The post will exist in all parents.

Redirecting one domain to another using utm tags
I have two live websites, which have both been live for over 10 years, so we have plenty of backlinks to both...domain1.com & domain2.com. Domain 1 and all urls is being merged into domain2.com. So 301 redirects will be setup for every page of the site....domain1.com/abc-1234/ to > domain2.com/abc-1234/ In Google analytics for domain2.com we want to be able to see which visits we have received as a result of a redirect from domain1.com. It is possible to see these visits that come in via organic, referrals and social etc, as those will come to us with the referral as domain1.com. However, with direct traffic, i.e. if someone types domain1.com into their search bar, these visits will be assigned as direct and we are not able to tell in GA if those users have typed in domain2.com, or domain1.com to get to our webpage. There are some suggestions in forums of adding utm_source tracking to all redirects (and add canonicals to those urls pointing to the non utm_source version), but my concern is that Google is going to have to go through one extra step to reach the page on the redirected domain. So without the utm source code Google will follow this route

domain.com/123/ to domain2.com/123/?utm_source... then see's canonical, so moves to domain2.com/123/ So essentially I am giving Google one extra step to follow before it gets to the equivalent page on the new site. Is this an issue, and/or are there any other ways to track this redirection without adding extra parameters to the url?0 -
Canonical Tags & GWT Parameters
A site I'm working on has canonical tags which I find to be accurate, regardless of tracking parameters or anything else added to the url. The tag looks like: And we have alot of parameters in Google Search Console that look like Parameter Crawl page Let Googlebot Decide destination Let Googlebot Decide filters Let Googlebot Decide Since all of our parameters follow a question mark, like http://www.examplesite.com/questions/avocados?source=ad12345 and all of our pages have canonical tags showing the representative url without the additional parameters, why wouldn't we just have the one parameter in GWT as Parameter Crawl ? Representative URL I ask because I find that Google analytics shows pages with parameters as landing pages in search, which has me concerned about Google seeing it as duplicate content. Thanks! Keyword ranking with competitors with lower #s
When analyzing a keyword ranking, our term is consistently on P1 P3-5. Looking more closely, I find that the numbers don't make sense to me. Our competitors have lower Page Authority 3s, lower # Root Domains Linking to Page, Lower Domain Authority 3#s and lower Root Domains linking to the Root Domains Linking to the Root Domain #s. What explains the consistent_ ranking discrepancy? Any ideas?_

Hello all, I am having an issue with tracking the sales on a webshop, and I would like to know how I can enable the ecommerce tracking with Google Tag Manager? Right now I am tracking the pageviews fine, firing a Universal Analytics tag. How can I achieve this? Thank you.

Why doesn't Google seem to care about referral spam?
In researching the issue of referral spam, there is no shortage if info, both on MOZ and beyond. But, neither the Google Analytics Blog or Help Forums seem to mention the issue at all. I'd think it is something that they would want to get rid of, yet it seems like they don't even acknowledge that it exists. Anyone have insights into this? Am I missing something, or is Google strangely silent on an issue that is becoming more and more annoying for anyone trying to use GA data?

Has anybody else had unusual /feed crawl errors in GWT on normal url's?
I'm getting crawl error notifications in Google Webmaster tools for pages that do not exist on my sites?! Basically normal URL's with /feed on the end.. http://jobs-transport.co.uk/submit/feed/ http://jobs-transport.co.uk/login/feed Has any body else experienced this problem? I have no idea why this is happening. Simon

Page Views for a List of URL's (Excel & Analytics)
I've been playing around with a few excel plugins trying to get the visit count for over 350 different URL's on the same website. I cant seem to find a function that can do this. Can anyone advise a work around or a way i can achieve this? Greg

Increased Bounce Rate & Dollar Index?
We use Google Analytics on our ecommerce site and we recently made several changes to an important page. Due to logistical reasons, we couldn't perform a Google web optimizer test but tracked the page's numbers in analytics from before/after the changes were made. After a week, we noticed that the bounce rate on the page went up by about 10% but the dollar index also doubled. We're trying to figure out how this could happen, since it seems kind of odd. Any feedback would be appreciated.
