How to track ranking in local area?
-
When I track a keyword ranking with the Ranking Tool, are the results for my geographic area? So, how would I track a keyword in another location? As in, another state?
Thanks,
-
We're proud to announce we now have local ranking tracking! Check out our blog post at http://moz.com/blog/local-rankings-in-moz-analytics.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out!
Rank tracker is designed to show you generic SERPs on a country level. Basically, we're trying to show you what the SERPs would be if you were to search with a browser in incognito/private mode. There isn't a way to make the results more geo targeted in the tool itself, but you could add a geo-modifier to the term to try to localize it more. If you'd like to see the ability to geo target ranking results more, I recommend checking out our Feature Request Forum and letting our Product team know. Thanks!

I agree with Trung, ngo I really like the tool SEM Rush for rank tracking plus there is another tool you should check is Rank Watch as they are specialized in local rankings with no personalization so they might come up with a more exact number.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
Both SEMrush and BrightLocal's keyword tracking tools allow for more granular geographic rankings, as in tracking by city or state. I'd recommend browsing both toolsets to see which best fit your needs.

You referring to tracking with country targeted? You can always track by your country google.com eg google.co.uk

Best Keyword Strategy for Lower-Authority-Ranked Domain
Hi, What should a lower-authority-ranked blog (DA - 21) who is trying to increase general traffic focus on above all when selecting keywords: difficulty, monthly volume, opportunity, or priority? I know that all are important factors to consider, but I fear that without an already consistent following our new content will just get hidden behind more established domains if we select too difficult of keywords. I'd love to hear from someone who's built up a blog audience as to what strategy they used here. Thanks!

Ranking issues with my local business website.
Hi, I have local business website "asapgaragedoorrepair.com" which im seeing weird ranking issues during last few months . i would like to share it with you guys and get help from you. first days i have indexed the website ,it was ranking good with google and then after 2-3 weeks i have noticed that none of the pages ranking anymore. i have looked for any issues in the optimization and i fixed them and indexed again. right now i have weird issues. 1- the website was ranking for another page in my website other that the one that i wanted for keyword" Garage Door Repair Pasadena " .(it was ranking with garage door installation page). i changed the content ,optimization on the other page and indexed. still the same issue. then i had no ways other that 301 to the right page . 2- when i check the rankings with "ahrefs" website or "Moz" or other tools that i have, it shows that im ranking for 16th position for " Garage door repair Pasadena ". but when i search it by myself im getting no results. (this is bothering) maybe i dont know something . pls help me 3- in Moz or ahref website shows the ranking like the image i have attached. 2 different results for each keywords. why is that? and why i can not see them when i search them by my self? htPQR

What's up with Yahoo and Bing in my keyword rankings?
SEOmoz is good I've learned a lot from it. I'm on my 3rd month and now have 8 keywords in top 50 for one site and 1 keyword in top 50 for another. This is for Google US. For Bing and Yahoo! US however I am still not in the top 50 for anything. I have read elsewhere that meta-tag page words can be regarded by these engines as a spam signal. In my meta I have used competative keywords that are relevant to my content, some of which are in the body, but are not my actual targeted keywords as a red-herring to potential competitors. Also might be usefull for other smaller places that still use meta-tags. Could not appearing in BingHoo! have something to do with their alogrithms and the meta-tags? or is it an SEOmoz issue? I have another question also. The " / " after a domain name doesn't appear in my Firefox address bar (I think I did a 301 redirect), but when I copy and paste it into an entry box (e.g. for a link submission) it puts the " / " there at the end which I take off. Does this make any difference?

How to track sub-directories as separate sites
I am tracking a blog for a client thats hosted on a subdomain, we decided to give it it's own SEOMoz campaign. My issue is that when entering competitors, if the competing blog is using a sub-directory, SEO Moz won't let me enter it, only the domain. I would assume that there has to be a way to do this, but I don't see it. I need to be able to track the competing blogs as separate from their root domain. mysite: blog.mysite.com their site: theirsite.com/blog (very different from just theirsite.com) Hopefully someone can tell me what to do here because the metrics are basically useless if I am forced to use only the domain. Thanks so much!

Is there a way to pull ALL rankings for a site for a set of keywords?
I'm fairly new to SEOMoz, and am looking for a way to pull all rankings for a site with the keywords I've listed, not just the top ranking. So for instance if my site ranks for the keyword "widget maker in MO" in two spots. The current rank report will only show me the top result. I know I can click on each keyword individually and see a full list of the top 50, but I'm looking for a more automated way of doing this (I'm the only SEO at my agency and time is an issue). I previously used Advanced Web Ranking and the tool would like me pull a CSV of the top 30 sites for each keyword I was tracking and then I could just search for my site and pull those results easier. Anyone know of a shortcut or report I should use? Thanks!
