Are there any tools out there to see historical positions of keywords for competitors?

I haven't been tracking the keywords, just wondered if there is any cached data anywhere?

Yes, some tools like SEMRush or SearchMetrics might be able to provide you with this data if they obviously have the keywords that you are looking for.

How do i rank for 1000 keywords?

i have dr 25 and 200 referring domains and ranking for 90 kws in usa. i saw this trend that if you rank for more kws then chances are that you can rank for those high traffic kws in 1 to 5 positions. what i mean is that it increases your odds ? possible answer1 :increase dr and da both and ur and pa ( ahrefs and moz) i know pagerank matters but these are some metrics we can look at for right now possible answer 2 : get a lot of backlinks maybe from same site but how does my backlinks can help me to rank for 1000 kws so that i can have at least 100 kws to rank in position 1 to 5? detailed answers will defi be appreciated

Keyword difficulty and time to rank

Hello, Is there a correlation between the keyword difficult and the time it takes to rank ? In other words let's say I try to rank for the keyword "seo" and it is going to take 2 years to rank 1 st whereas if I go for "best seo tools in 2018" and it takes just 2 weeks ? Thank you,

Correct Internal Linking Flow / Keyword Cannibalization

Hi, Would like some advice re our internal linking structure and possible keyword self cannibalization on our ecommerce site.. Will try and give you an overview. Imagine this page structure: Site
Brand 1
Brand 2
Brand 2 Shoes
Products
Brand 2 Sweaters Then say in Brand 2 Shoes page we have the shoes, e.g., the products labeled as Brand 2 Shoes "Name of Model"
Brand 2 Shoes "Name of Model" Now, what I'm worried about is that if I do a search for "Brand 2 Shoes" it should bring up my landing page right? But it doesn't, it brings up some of the products instead... I'm worried that we may be self cannibalizing some of the keywords - and thinking of changing the product page to be "Brand Name of Model Shoes" or "Name of Model Shoes by Brand" Any ideas or comments appreciated! Why Keyword is not ranking

I have blog website - http://uncutweb.com/ My website ranked for keywords - What Color Shoes To Wear With Gold Dress, Keywords is having Moz Difficulty Score: 35% with A grade moz On page Score. But why my website is not ranked for What Color Shoes To Wear With Purple Bridesmaid Dress or **What Color Shoes To Wear With Coral Dress???**They have less difficulty score and having A grade.

Where is the point of diminishing returns for silos and keyword subdirectories?

And as a follow-up, is that point far enough out to justify making a site's folder structure different from its navigation structure? I'll give an example. Say I was to do SEO for a hypothetical (I hope) someconstructioncompany.com, and the the menus/submenus were laid out as About Us ---- Our company ---- Our staff ---- Locations -------- Albany (default path would be .com/about-us/locations/albany-ny.html) -------- Miami -------- Liverpool Services ---- Kitchen remodeling (default path would be .com/services/kitchen-remodeling.html) ---- Above ground pools ---- Green building Photo galleries ---- Kitchen photos (default path would be .com/photo-gallery/kitchen-photos.html) ---- Pool photos ---- Green building photos Would there be any benefit (and if so, enough of a benefit to outweigh the additional overhead of keeping track of a separate structure) to having the menus set that way, but the actual files siloed as stuff like someconstructioncompany.com/kitchen-remodeling/kitchen-renovation-services.html someconstructioncompany.com/kitchen-remodeling/custom-kitchen-photo-gallery.html someconstructioncompany.com/above-ground-pools/above-ground-pool-photos.html someconstructioncompany.com/albany-ny/green-building-custom-home-remodeling-contractor-albany.html Would that separation of navigation structure and file structure be beneficial or would that time/effort setting it up be better spent elsewhere? What is the best approach to a keyword that has multiple abbreviations?

I have a site for which the primary keyword has multiple abbreviations. The site is for the computer game "Football Manager", each iteration is often referred to as FM2012, FM12 or Football Manager 2012, the first two can also be used with or without spaces inbetween. While this is only 3 keywords to target, it means that every key phrase such as "FM2012 Tactics", must also be targeted in 3 ways. Is there a recommended approach to make sure that all 3 are targeted? At present I use the full title "Football Manager" in the the title and try to use the shorter abbreviations in the page, I also make sure the title tags always have an alternative e.g FM2012 Tactics Two specific questions as well as general tips: Does the <abbr>HTML tag help very much?</abbr> Are results likely to differ much for searches for "FM 2012" and "FM2012" i.e. without the space.

Keyword-Rich Domains - Redirect?

Hi, Mozzers- I have a client that has a bunch of pretty nice keyword-rich domain names. Their traffic and rankings are good. They provide legal services in the Chicago area. I have lots of good content that I could use to start a blog using a domain like keyword,keyword-blog.com. Good idea? Currently I have a resources area on their website but feel like this area could be getting a little bloated and some news-related stuff isn't really appropriate. 2 Questions: Should I use one of the decent domains for a blog and build up the rankings, traffic, and link to the main site? Or is this lots of work for little payout? Both sites would be hosted in the cloud. Some of the domain names are related to their name, others are keyword or geo-targeted. Would it be wise to setup 301 redirects going to their website? Pros/cons? If you need additional info, please PM me for details. Thank you, friends! LHC
