Will a Javascript object be read without pre-rendering?
-
I have site that is in staging. I have a Javascript object on one of my pages. Is there a way to test to see if google crawler will read the js object without pre-rendering in the code?
-
The fetch as Googlebot function in GWT is definitely your best bet here.
Most JavaScript dropdowns I've run into are being indexed properly by Google by now but if your particular JS implementation isn't being executed when fetching as Googlebot, then you'll need to use a solution like prerender.

I don't believe Google will make a selection for each option in a drop-down, even if they're able to see it. The traditional wisdom is to also provide ways to click to each location - so, somewhere there should be a link to each state, then you can have URLs like /bands/arizona and show the bands in Arizona.
I also have a search-based interface, and I do OK, but our short-term plans include a way to click through to each location without submitting a search form - it should help Google find our content.

Pre-rendering - the javascript is a state dropdown. Content is displayed based on the selection. I did the Fetch as Googlebot and dont see the javascript.

What do you mean by "Without Pre-Rendering"?
Google says they can now index some Javascript content. I believe they're using actual browsers, or something very similar, to index web pages. Depending on how true this is, there's a chance they'll index anything you have hidden away in Javascript.
You can use the "Fetch as Google" tool in Webmaster Tools to see what the Googlebot sees. I just ran a test on my site and it does render Javascript. On my site some page elements appear in a different place with Javascript disabled, and in Google's render of the page they appear in the Javascript-enabled location. If you have actual content in the Javascript I don't know what Google will do with it, but they can at least see the result of your Javascript.

Why are there significant changes in the amount of duplicate content without any known action?
I've noticed a surprisingly rapid change in duplicate content over the past month. I'd noticed ~6,000 instances of duplicate content, after disavowing bad links we went down to 3k, this makes perfect sense to me. But after that, without doing anything whatsoever, from last Thursday, the 20th, to yesterday the instances of duplicate content decreased again down to 2k. Could this just be a delayed indexing of pages or are there other factors here? Thanks for the help.

SEOmoz PRO: How to manage a Site with 2 languages on the same domain - without mixing up data?
I want to track a "rootdomain" that has two languages on it, the english version is in a subfolder /en/ 1. http://website.de
Moz Pro | | inlinear
2. http://website.de/en/ I want to manage and track each language-version isolated. So I will setup:
1. http://website.de as campaign DE - german
= as Root Domain
But as there are links to the /en/ Subfolder these data will also be included in all reports. And there is still no option in SEOmoz PRO to exclude folders or even urls.?! This will be bad when wanting a clear report of just one Language Version. 2. http://website.de/en as campaing EN - english
To track as "Subfolder" will not work beacause this option will only consider exactly this subfolder... So is there a way to see data just only for one language Version?0 -
Press Release - using moz bar/OSE is reading domain not page? How? Why?
A question posed by Christopher Glaeser from early today:low PA high DA, had a follow up response from him providing 2 urls from PR WEB for separate press releases: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/11/prweb8923419.htm (HP White) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 47 DA - 36 http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9051351.htm (Golfer's Advice) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 1 DA - 96 I kept scratching my head as to how a press release of 6 weeks ago had garnered such attention from a company that would not seem to have a huge traffic due to more obscure product offering and scientific subject (Analyses of Armor Industry versus Golf Advice).
Moz Pro | | RobertFisher
Then I realized that for HP White, Link Data was not about the PR. The url from mozbar was HPWhite.com not the above, I did not notice until I used OSE where same thing was happening. When I cut and pasted the above press release url for HP White and placed it in OSE this changed: PA - 49 DA - 96 (2 links 2 linking root domains) For Golfers advice (0 links from 0 linking domains) Note to all: the links to the PR WEB release for the HP included a low end directory type link and a link from PR WEB (. For Golfer's Advice there was not a link back to the release from PR WEB: Note that Golfer's Advice is a newer release (6 weeks). So, any link from HPWhite release would equal more juice to HP White and PR Web and Vocus. Any link to Golfer's Advice from release offers......???? to Golfer's Advice and who cares to Vocus and PR Web. So, I guess this begs a couple of questions: Why the mozbar link analysis difference for one versus the other? Does PR Web treat some differently than others? Who benefits most from me paying a PR Web to do press releases for a client, PR Web and Vocus or my client and I???? I have tried to order the images to make sense: L to R top, then bottom is last. Will canonical tag get rid of duplicate page title errors?
I have a directory on my website, paginated in groups of 10. On page 2 of the results, the title tag is the same as the first page, as it is on the 3rd page and so on. This is giving me duplicate page title errors. If i use rel=canonical tags on the subsequent pages and href the first page of my results, will my duplicate page title warnings go away? thanks.
