Custom funnel tracking - Google analytics - premium or normal
-
If I have funnel with more options on same step.
E.g. PDP (product detail page) --> "Sign in page A" or "Sign in page B" (customer can choose) --> "Thank you page"
How can I track both options in same funnel?
Because if I set funnel in analytics like: 1. step: PDP, 2. step: Sign in page A and step 3: Thank you page -->
I would see "Sign in page B" like exit page, but it is not, because customers can choose and come through A or B "sign in" page.Pls help. Ty.

Hi,
Yes, I have two different "thank you" pages, but I want to know how many users I loose on step 2 (sign in page A) without users who go to "sign in page B".
-
Hi Tormar,
What I would do is make "Thank you page A" and "Thank you page B" for they are different goals or not? If so they represent different values so need to be seperated. This would make setting up the funnels easy.
Good luck!
Tymen

Thank you.
I understand, but I don't want to have A and B like a same step, I want to track separately a and b in same funnel. Can I set:
step 1: Include - page - PDP
step 2: Include - page - sign in page A
step 3: Exclude - exit page - sign in page B
step 4: Include - page - Thank you pageWould analytics then exlude "sign in page B" ? Would I have then "sign in page B" like exit page or I would have complete funnel for "sign in page A" ?
-
What you can do is make sure the page of A and B both send the same information to Google Analytics or at least the steps in the funnel would be the same. So instead of having an exact pageview for /signup-a and /signup-b make sure that the signup pageview in the goal settings is starting with /signup- so it doesn't matter in the step in the funnel what the full URL is.

We changed our domain, I used the move tool in Google Search Console and I am having our site redirected and go daddy, and now I spoke with someone who suggest we do a 301 redirect for all pages on our site and I’m not sure that’s the correct move.
We just changed our domain name after 15 years. when I bought the new domain name I called Go Daddy and they instructed me to contact my google G sweet admin account and change all of our emails over which I did and then I went into Shopify who is my host and changed my primary domain there and then I went back to Go Daddy and had my old website forwarded to my new site. since then there has been nothing but problems with Google. my product feed from my merchant center account has been suspended three or four times now, I tried to rename and move all of my Google accounts from my old domain to my new one, but I am not an SEO person... after making the changes I have started google chats with analytics department with the merchant center with Google as they all keep saying that it looks fine but I’m not convinced because the product feed keeps getting disapproved. So I posted an ad for help and the Guy I spoke with suggested I do a 301 redirect for every single page on my old site, But I’m concerned that might confuse things further? I’ve already started the move in Google Search console And in Shopify I added the old domain back into the domains section and am having it redirectEd that way too... I guess I’m just looking to know which way I should proceed, any and all advice is warmly welcome thank you in advance Maureen

Modified broad match vs phrase match strategy - Google Adwords
Hi All, I am looking through a client account that is very mature (10+ years running) on Google AdWords. As soon as it became available, this client adopted a modified broad match (MBM) strategy and has removed all phrase match and exact match keyword types. The account has hundreds of thousands of active keywords. Over the past few years, the CPCs have been rising. While I know that market values of keywords in general have risen consistently year after year, I speculate that this client is actually causing their own prices to go up faster than they should. I have a couple of questions regarding strategy that I am considering that I want to know if anyone else has any experience with... by having many MBM versions of the same keyword, is it possible for cannibalization to occur for most of the variations? Example query: new red running shoes
Conversion Rate Optimization | | dsinger
variations Ad group 1: +red running shoes, +red +running shoes, red +running +shoes, red running +shoes
variations ad group 2: +blue running shoes, +blue +running shoes, blue +running +shoes, blue running +shoes based on the logic of MBM, the possible matches to this query from the available variations are +red running shoes, +red +running shoes, red +running +shoes, red running +shoes, blue +running +shoes, blue running +shoes. So, if the performance of those blue variations trump the more closely related red variations, this searcher may actually see an ad about blue running shoes, even though they have indicated they are more interested in red. in terms of cost, I would anticipate that MBM keywords are more expensive than their phrase match counterparts. can anyone confirm or deny this? My thoughts are that with several years of actual search terms being collected, this client should be able to do a great job of covering almost every variation of keyword that customers have used and create a strong list of phrase match keywords to satisfy all relevant queries. MBM keywords seem like they are a lazy way of getting traffic at a higher cost that can actually cannibalize close variations that exist in the account, causing the wrong ad to be shown based on matching/relevancy and a higher price CPC in the long run. Thoughts?1 -
I am confused on adding Google+ authorship markup to a multiauthor WP blog
The blog for a client is at http://blog.multiview.com . I am not sure how to tell them to add Google+ authorship tags to the site, and link the posts to the individual G+ profiles of each individual author. One source shows it is highly complex, seesee http://searchengineland.com/the-definitive-guide-to-google-authorship-markup-123218 However, in the Google webmaster account, there is a real simple explanation, i.e. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2539557?hl=en Considering that this is an area that is very murky for me, is one of these directives out of date? Is one preferable? How complicated would that be, for this particular blog?

Google Product Ads - Improving our Cost Per Conversion?
Hi all, We have been running Google Product Ads (paid for) ever since it began in the UK. We are still struggling to get to grips with the best way to make it worthwhile for us. Our data for the last 14 days:
Conversion Rate Optimization | | complete_outdoors
Clicks: 1827
Impressions: 65789
CTR: 2.78%
Average CPC: £0.22
Cost Per Conversion: £15.13 We've added some auto targets for our most popular brands, with a higher CPC than "all products". We've also added negative keywords so we only come up with relevant searches. Basically, what we'd like to know is: how we can best set-up our product ads to reduce our Cost Per Conversion (I guess everyone would like to do that!), as it is barely worth us using it currently. If you require any further data to help answer my question, please ask. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.0 -
What happens when i import analytics conversions into adwords if I already have conversions set up?
Hey everyone, I have a question. We already have conversion tracking set up for our landing pages, however Adwords has the option to import goals from anaytics, one of which is for the landing pages. What will happen if I do? Will it erase all the conversion data I already have? Will it mess things up? Or am I not understanding this correctly... Any help would be appreciated 🙂

How can I track the traffic source/keyword of form submissions?
I'm using Google Analytics on www.nhfinehomes.com and would like to track the source of leads submitted via form submissions. Ideally, I could track if the lead originated from organic search (and what keyword phrase), PPC, referral links, etc. Is this possible with Google Analytics and if so, can anyone point to some documentation on how to do this or better yet someone who can help me set this up? This site is running ASP.NET and uses JQuery so there is not a 'traditional' thank you page that I can reference. I'm not a programmer and do not pretend to be one! Thanks in advance. Link

How do I get Google to rank the right page?
My site ranks #1 for Arabic Interpreting on Google UK. This great, but it's ranking my home page rather than the my specific Arabic Interpreting page. The home page shouldn't really rank for this term as it has very little connection with this exact term. This means that while the site ranks great, the conversion is pretty much zero. How can I get Google to rank the page I've optimised for this term? I know the ranking will no doubt slip but may the conversions will be better. Can you help please?

Is it advisable to use meta refresh for Google Website Optimiser?
We'd like to track conversions using Google's Website Optimiser, but the conversion page is hosted on a different sub domain so Google won't allow us to use this as the conversion page. The plan was then to add a blank page on the original domain that contains Google tracking code and a meta refresh to the page on the sub domain. We would then block this page in the robots file so Google doesn't try to index the page with the meta refresh. Does anyone see any harm that may come of this? Or any other way around the issue? Thanks in advance
